00:05This system will become a tropical storm, then a typhoon as it moves to the west-northwest.
00:11Now, by late this week and over the upcoming weekend, which would likely be a typhoon by then,
00:17it's going to get steered very close to Japan.
00:20A dip in the jet stream across Korea, high pressure out in the central Pacific,
00:25will steer that storm to the west-northwest and then curve it just east of central Japan
00:32as we get in this Sunday night and Monday.
00:35There will be some gusty winds, but the biggest impact is going to be the flooding rain,
00:40especially across central Japan.
00:42That does include Tokyo.
00:44They've had over eight inches of rain so far this month, easily surpassing their normal monthly total for the month.
