00:00If you've not heard this, this is Andre.
00:02Andre Johnson, the only player in the Hall of Fame, as of now,
00:08until that guy that Jim's working with gets in.
00:10The only player in the Hall of Fame for the Houston Texans.
00:14This is his comments about C.J. Stroud, the quarterback of the Houston Texans.
00:21With him, and this is just me personally, what I dislike about C.J.,
00:25I dislike his body language.
00:27Like, his body language is bad.
00:28Like, any time something happens, it's like...
00:32Are you looking at me?
00:33You know what I'm saying? This is coming from Dre.
00:35We know this. We talked about it.
00:36But I'm not picking on him.
00:38Yeah, he has bad body language.
00:40And I don't know, like, I think as me being a former player,
00:45your quarterback having that type of body language is bad
00:48because other guys look at you as the quarterbacks.
00:52When they see you and they see you, you know,
00:55feeling a certain way or your body language a certain way,
00:57it kind of trickles through the team.
00:59So, I would say that's the biggest thing that bothers me,
01:04like, when I watch the team play.
01:07All right, the biggest thing that bothers him when he watches the team play,
01:10you've obviously played quarterback at a high level in college
01:14and in the NFL.
01:17That's Andre Johnson,
01:19arguably the number one face in this organization's history.
01:23We talked about from a player, him and J.J.,
01:25right there, the number one face.
01:28Your thoughts when you hear him say that about C.J. Stroud,
01:31the current quarterback?
01:32Look, I mean, I think it's low-hanging fruit.
01:34I think it's real.
01:35I think everybody, you know, whether you're a former player or not,
01:38can actually see that.
01:40I've said it before.
01:41Look, I think C.J. Stroud's got what I think many people would categorize
01:45as bad body language on a daily basis.
01:49Like, his body language in general would be categorized as bad body language,
01:56just how he carries himself, his facial expressions.
02:00Anyway, and then when something bad happens,
02:02obviously it's magnified,
02:05and I think at times it gets blown out of proportion.
02:10Now, I agree with what Andre's saying from a standpoint of the quarterback's
02:14body language needs to err on the side of being positive and upbeat
02:19and damn sure not bad or negative.
02:22And I do think C.J. struggles in that particular category.
02:27Yes.
02:30713-572-416, your thoughts on Andre Johnson's comments.
02:34I see some people coming in.
02:35Rob Torres, bad body language is the new –
02:38I can't say the rest of that, damn it.
02:42It's not an overreaction.
02:43Someone texted in Donna.
02:44I totally agree.
02:45I agree with Dre.
02:46I told my son the same thing about C.J.
02:49I want to see positive energy.
02:52I've told you I don't like his body language.
02:54Yeah.
02:55We've had that conversation.
02:58And as I've expressed, I hope that grows for him as he gets older
03:03and plays the game more and starts to grow within himself.
03:10I think Andre is – with this be fair, Clinton Tyler,
03:16I think Andre's maybe the most – amongst former players and even,
03:20I think, fans, he may be the most respected player
03:24in the history of the Houston Texans.
03:27Only Hall of Famer thus far.
03:28I know J.J. is beloved, but I'm talking about –
03:32there's – like, listen, I've been here a little bit.
03:34There's a bit of a feel for J.J. with some people.
03:40There's a bit of a me, me with J.J. with some people.
03:43Yeah.
03:44I think universally, everyone loves J.J.
03:47Yes, 100%.
03:48And he's respected inside that building like no other player has ever been.
03:52I've heard Wade talk about –
03:53I mean, Janice McNair's video this weekend,
03:57I mean, he made more appearances than Cal did.
03:59Yep.
04:00And J.J.
04:01He wasn't endeared to Texans fans before he was
04:03after he knocked out Cortland Finnegan.
04:05Yeah, I've heard Wade say he didn't talk much.
04:08I've heard Seth say he didn't talk much.
04:10But when he talked, everybody listened.
04:11He's that guy.
04:13I think that was foul what he did.
04:18Not what he said, what he did.
04:19Not what he said, what he did.
04:21That was foul.
04:22With everything that we just spoke about,
04:24and I know some of you all are going to have a problem with me
04:26and what I said, but with everything we just spoke about,
04:29that didn't have to come –
04:31that didn't have to come publicly on Kendrick Perkins' podcast.
04:35I only –
04:36And it's only worse to me is if he hadn't had this conversation
04:40with C.J. himself, which, as I said, everybody respects Andre.
04:45He's been in there.
04:46Have you had that conversation with C.J. yourself?
04:49Again, I think Andre –
04:51I've met him a few times.
04:52He seems like to be a cool individual,
04:55and this don't make him a bad person or nothing.
04:57I just completely disagree with him doing that on a public basis.
05:02With everything already that is surrounding him,
05:06all of this stuff here,
05:10and now Dre, now you,
05:12now the number one dude in the organization
05:17that's going to come out here and this is what I don't like.
05:20This is the number one thing I don't like when I watch the team.
05:22That could have been held behind closed doors.
05:24I hope he at least talked to C.J. before this was on the line.
05:28That's just my opinion.
05:29Many of you may just say tough love, whatever.
05:31I'm just saying, like,
05:33the ish that he's had to put up with already.
05:38These jokers don't want to pay me.
05:40They want to pay everybody else.
05:41Everything that I have done with this organization.
05:46And now –
05:47and hell, now Andre –
05:49now Andre just going to come out of left field
05:51with Kendrick Perkins and hit me with this.
05:55Again, I'm not saying that Andre is wrong for what he said.
06:00We've talked about it.
06:01But you got to know who you are.
06:06Andre and J.J. say stuff like that about C.J. Stroud.
06:11Watch this thing get around.
06:12Watch.
06:13Let's see if C.J. has to answer questions about it.
06:19Andre's words hold weight.
06:19I know some of y'all call me soft and all this, all this.
06:22Yeah, yeah.
06:23You're going to see, boy, that kid –
06:24you want to talk about –
06:25like, I don't know if he feels this way,
06:28but if you want to lay down the list of –
06:30I can't wait to get the hell up out of here.
06:34I get blamed for every damn thing.
06:37I know that's a part of the quarterback job,
06:39but damn, I get blamed for every damn thing.
06:43Hell, people don't even know Woody Marks fumbled
06:47against the Patriots.
06:48They just got to another reception.
06:50And now Andre can't come talk to me.
06:52Now Andre want to go with Kendrick Perkins.
06:56And now they're over here laughing.
06:57You know what Kendrick said?
06:58That's coming from Drake.
06:59Yeah.
07:01Well, Kendrick's on record of not believing in C.J. Stroud.
07:06I can hear Texans fans saying that, though,
07:08like in an echo, like, that's coming from Drake.
07:11But that's coming from Drake.
07:12Now it's looking at even more.
07:14Like, Texan on coming in,
07:16Ron Dre has every right to speak his truth.
07:17He sure does.
07:18He has every right.
07:19I'm telling you, you know who you are.
07:23And you know when you make comments like that.
07:27Just like another – this is a lesser thing.
07:30Sean Payton, when you come out at the halftime and say,
07:34hey, we got to run the football better.
07:36That's something we got to do.
07:37Hey, what do you think about play calling?
07:38Ask me after the game.
07:41What do you think that means for Davis Webb?
07:43What do you think that – you know who you are.
07:47I just think Andre could have absolutely handled that.
07:51Yes, he'll be fine.
07:52This will be another thing.
07:54But the last thing I think C.J. needs is more gasoline on the fire of,
08:00all right, man.
08:02Man, he – he – he sucks.
08:05I love Andre Johnson.
08:07We've met him a couple of times.
08:08I think Andre is a good dude.
08:11Everything I've heard from people who know him closely that I know,
08:14he's a good dude.
08:15Never seen anything.
08:16I think that – I think – I think he'd have that one back.
08:19What if he is – what if as close as he is to the organization,
08:22as often as he is around, what if he's had that conversation with C.J.?
08:26That's better, but still like –
08:28Still shouldn't be said.
08:30To me, I feel like you know when you say it that it becomes a thing.
08:36We're not going to be the last one to talk about this.
08:38Yeah.
08:39Area 45 is probably going to talk about this.
08:42People around the city are going to talk about this.
08:45I know Reggie.
08:46Y'all have already talked to Reggie and Vicky.
08:47They're talking about it.
08:48They're getting lined up.
08:49Payne and Pendergast are getting lined up.
08:51I'm always getting robbed on the drive.
08:52You going – and that's the other – you brought that part up.
08:54That was a great point.
08:55Someone brought it up.
08:56I agree, Joe, 100%.
08:58I love Andre, but Kendrick Perkins is a hater.
09:00You know who you're going on talking about with.
09:03Some of the foul stuff that Kendrick Perkins,
09:06the disrespectful stuff that he has said.
09:12Craig Biggio can't come out here and just say,
09:16oh, man, I just – I don't know, man.
09:20Jordan doesn't – I feel like Jordan doesn't always –
09:24doesn't always play through injury.
09:26Or play through pain.
09:28Craig Biggio comes out and says that.
09:30That's different than –
09:33If I say it.
09:34If you say it.
09:34Yeah.
09:35Or I say it.
09:36Or that guy that everybody's in love with that Megan is in love with.
09:41Josh Reddick.
09:41Josh Reddick.
09:42There you go.
09:42That's different.
09:44Yeah, man.
09:44Look, it carries weight.
09:45There's no doubt about it.
09:46It carries weight.
09:48There's no doubt about it that it's going to catch eyeballs
09:50because Kendrick Perkins is obviously one of the –
09:52On ESPN.
09:53I mean, big media presence as well as a local guy
09:56that does have some cut-through comments about C.J. Stroud.
10:01And so, look, there's no doubt it's going to garner some attention.
10:05I would just –
10:07I'd venture to say that –
10:10You think he's had the conversation with him before?
10:11Well, as much as he's around the organization
10:14and as obvious as what he's talking about really is,
10:21I would be shocked if nobody said,
10:23Hey, Dre, you know, can you –
10:26Do you mind talking to our quarterback
10:27and kind of mentoring our quarterback a little bit
10:31along with other young players?
10:32And one of the things that he's discussed with C.J.
10:36is controlling the body language.
10:37I mean, I don't know if he's been put in that position or not.
10:40I would go out on a limb and say if he has,
10:43that would be something that probably has already been discussed.
10:47But we'll see.
10:49I'm sure they'll be asked about it.
10:50Let me just ask you all this.
10:52Tyler, Clint, both of you have –
10:55we have all been around C.J. since he got here.
11:00Hell, we were there with him.
11:01We talked to him the day he was drafted
11:03and the next day he was drafted.
11:05We've covered all of it.
11:06You all have been here.
11:07You have watched C.J.
11:08I don't care if you think he's soft.
11:10I don't care however you feel.
11:13Whatever.
11:14What he has done over the three years on the field
11:16is right there for you.
11:18Good, bad, everything.
11:20But you know him as an individual.
11:22And you've seen where he has come from
11:25from the end of last season
11:27and how he has portrayed himself here.
11:31How do you think, in your mind,
11:34he reacts to something like that?
11:36Because there are some people –
11:38Not well.
11:38There are some people that –
11:41I don't get –
11:42All right, Dre, you're right.
11:44Like, there's some –
11:44Yeah.
11:45Maybe that might be –
11:45But how do you –
11:46Like, if you are –
11:48How do you, in your mind –
11:49I don't care how you think he's soft, whatever.
11:51He's the starting quarterback on this team
11:53and one of the biggest reasons
11:56that you will have a chance
11:58to get to where you have never gotten
11:59as an organization.
12:01Nobody is more important on that field
12:03than C.J. Stroud for the Texans' chances
12:05to get to where they're trying to get to.
12:07How do you think he takes Andre Johnson
12:11going on with Kendrick Perkins publicly
12:15saying that about him?
12:18Yeah.
12:18I mean, I don't think he –
12:19I don't think he takes it well.
12:21No.
12:21And, like, regardless of how you feel about him,
12:24like, that's what I'm saying.
12:25This ain't a guy that you're like –
12:27Like, I don't think Aziz would give a flip.
12:31Yeah.
12:33Like, I don't think some of these guys would give –
12:35But, like, you know who it is.
12:37You know he's –
12:38And you know everything he's had to deal with.
12:44I just –
12:48I'm really surprised to hear that.
12:51Really surprised to hear that.
