00:04We're here at the Safari Park celebrating our cheetah cubs first birthday. We have four cheetah
00:13cubs that were born a year ago here at our breeding center. The cheetahs on exhibit are
00:17mom Addison and her one-year-old cubs Rifu, Walgasa, Pumzika, and Mahala. We celebrated
00:24the cubs first birthday by providing them ice cakes that were made by our forage
00:29warehouse department. Each of our cheetah cubs received an ice cake made of ice,
00:34blood, meat, and chicken broth and these were given to our cheetah cubs as
00:38enrichment. Enrichment is items that we will give our cheetahs that cause them
00:45to take longer to eat their meal and it stimulates them mentally and physically.
00:52When the cubs were released on exhibit they all went to the same cake. They've
00:56spent a lot of time this morning licking at the cakes and eating all the meat off
01:00of it. They had four cakes but they spent a lot of time together and even mom was
01:05very excited to participate in this birthday celebration. Guests can see the
01:10cubs and their mother from the Akavango outpost pathway or from the Africa tram
01:14safari.
