00:46Because they reached out to me and said we've got a new product coming out.

00:53And I said yeah and here it is.
00:56Because they didn't tell me what it is.
00:59They didn't tell me any features or anything.
01:02I've not seen any marketing.
01:05I literally have no idea what this device even is.
01:12So I am very, very curious.
01:15I'm going to go into it completely blind.
01:20I don't have a clue.
01:21The only thing I know is it's Oxford.
01:23So let's get it open.
01:27And we'll see what our first impressions are of the device.
01:32Now one thing I will say before I take it out.
01:35There's quite a bit of weight in it.
01:37It does weigh quite a bit.
01:40But let's have a look.

01:46The Prime 2.
01:51That looks like a stubby device.
01:55That looks chonky.

07:36We have the instructions.

07:46Granted not much colour.
07:48But still colour on instruction manual.
07:52I'll give them that.
07:54Text is possibly a tiny bit on the small side.
07:58But it is still readable.

08:11It even recommends the airflow.
08:16So it's trying to help you get the best experience from it.
08:20I'm probably not going to use their recommendations.
08:23I'm going to find the one that I personally like the best.
08:26And go with that.
08:28So we have a USB-C cable as well.
08:33Which I actually think.

08:37Because I do actually have it.
08:40When I stopped destroying my desk.
08:43So this is the one that we got with the V prime.
08:46This is the one.
08:47That came with the last Oxford device I looked at.
08:50It's exactly the same cable.
08:53You're not going to moan about the cable.
08:55Because they're actually good cables.
08:58And that would be the second pod.

09:07Because it means I get to go through two pods with this.
09:09Now I do need to pick a juice to go in here.

09:19I'm going to go with the Kiyuki Salt Ichigo.
09:22I'm not 100% sure how to pronounce it.
09:27But this is the Fuji Apple Lime Strawberry.
09:31Kiyuki makes some excellent juices.
09:33So if I'm testing a device that's literally got prime in the name.
09:39It needs a prime juice.
09:41And Kiyuki is one of the best.
09:43This is actually a brand new flavour for me though.
09:46I don't think I've tried this particular flavour from Kiyuki before.
09:50So it'll be interesting to have a look at that as well.
09:54But let's get this guy filled up.
09:58Okay.

10:17It is now filled to the brim.
10:21And as much as I know that this is a sample.
10:25And the TPD compliant version will probably only have the 2mm TPD compliance with it.
10:32I do appreciate the 6mm tank.
10:36I hope that these are able to be bought separately from the device.
10:41So if it does come with a 2mm tank.
10:45Hopefully they sell these separate.
10:47Just on their own.
10:49So that the user can customise it a little bit.
10:51And get that 6mm tank.
10:53So I'm going to leave that to actually saturate for a good few minutes.
10:58And then we'll actually give it a go.
11:01I'll give it a full run through and see what I think.
11:03But my overall impression at this point is I really like that device.
11:11The weight of it alone.

11:18Because I have looked at a couple of Oxford devices before.
11:24And look at the difference.
11:28This is definitely one of their more premium products.
11:33You can tell just by feeling it.
11:35It's not even flint.
11:36That...
11:37I just thought.
11:38Is that a full metal body?
11:43I think these facings might be plastic.
11:47Where did I put my scratchy tool?
11:51I don't know.
11:52I'll use a little screwdriver for a minute.
11:54So I'm not sure where my scratchy tool's gone.
11:56But let's just have a look.

12:05And I'm assuming back plate.
12:08They are both plastic.
12:10But the actual frame or the chassis.
12:14Is metal.
12:17So that is a really good build quality.
12:22Metal housing.
12:23And it's not thin metal either.
12:25Look at the thickness of that.
12:27That is really well put together.

12:32I'm just going to shut up for a minute.
12:34I'm going to leave this to fully saturate for a few more minutes.

12:38And I'll actually give you my first impressions of this guy.

14:20This is a warm device.
14:25It's a very warm device.
14:34What do I mean by warm device?
14:36What I mean is.
14:37I think this might be better suited.
14:40To a particular flavour.
14:43That can handle the warmth.
14:45Of a device.
14:47Of what a device can pump into it.
14:49So.
14:50Something like.
14:52What was I thinking of?
14:54I was thinking of.
14:55This one.
14:57I think this juice.
14:59The Yorkshire sipper from Fluid.
15:01Would possibly work.
15:03Extremely well.
15:04In this device.
15:07This one needs a warm device.
15:09You need that warmth with it.
15:11And I think this device could handle it perfectly.

15:20I'm actually going to do that.
15:21I've got two pods.
15:25This is the 0.6 ohm.
15:29So it's a little bit cooler.
15:31Might not be as warm as the 0.4.
15:35But.
15:35I'm curious.
15:37I want to see how.
15:38It works with juice.
15:40That's designed for a warm pod.
15:43So.
15:44Let's fill this up as well.
15:50And again.
15:51I'm not taking.
15:52Anything away from the Kuyuki juice.
15:54I just don't think it's quite right.

16:38I nearly said then there's a little bit too much airflow for it.

16:42Let's try it on a half.
16:51Let's actually do the three quarter.
16:54Let's hone in.
16:56On the right one.
16:57That's about three quarter.
17:09That needs just a tiny nudge more.
17:13Let's try again.
17:18There we go.
17:19I've got the airflow honed.
17:25The recommendations here are pretty accurate.
17:29That's kind of halfway between half and three quarters.
17:33And I've just dialed it into my personal preference.
17:36If you do see recommendations like this.
17:40Take them as recommendations.
17:42Start with these starting points.
17:44And then fiddle it.
17:45Mess with it.
17:46Twiddle it.
17:47To get your personal preference.
17:49And that is about mine.
17:51Where that is now.
17:53And I have to say.
17:57I actually really like this.
17:59That is really good.
18:10And you can.
18:11Hopefully it's coming across on the camera.
18:13The clouds.
18:14That this thing is producing.
18:17It's incredible.
18:18It's even.
18:19It's going all the way up to my ring light up there.

18:31It will take a little bit of dialing in.
18:34To get your particular setting.
18:36But it's really really good.

20:21I wouldn't say there's very much difference.
20:27But I was already on 55.
20:31And looks like 40 watts is the lowest it will go for this pod.
20:35So let's wait for that to lock in.

20:49Let's carry on messing with it though.

20:55Is switch between single and dual mode.

21:03Oh, it's been on boost the entire time.
21:04You know, let's try it on the eco.
21:10No, I want it on eco.

21:13What's the highest it will go on eco?
21:1540.
21:16So the same as what it was on boost.
21:18But this should be a single coil.
21:20So let's try this one.
21:25Ooh.
21:29There is a definite difference between the eco and the boost.
21:34The best way you can describe that after one puff.
21:38Imagine that this pod is split into two halves.
21:42When it's on eco, you've got half of it firing.
21:45When it's on boost, you're getting both firing.
21:47That's the sensation I got after just one puff on eco mode.
22:01I actually think, and this is probably more of a personal preference.
22:06I think I prefer the eco mode to the boost.
22:12The flavour just seems a little bit more.
22:14For me, on a personal note, I think the boost is kind of putting a little bit too much power
22:20into that particular juice.
22:22On the eco mode, I'm really getting the flavour come through a lot more.
22:37The clouds are not quite as impressive.
22:40It's still an impressive cloud, but it is toned down over the boost mode.
22:50But, I really like this.
22:55I am actually quite impressed.
23:00And I think we've covered everything.
23:02The switch is turned on or off fire activation.
23:04So that lock button is just to the fire mode on the top.
23:10That's back on boost.
23:19Yeah, so you can tell the difference between eco and boost.
23:24You can tell the difference between one coil firing and two.
23:30It might be different depending on what juice you use,
23:33but I don't think the Kuyuki juice is the right one for the boost.
23:39But for eco mode, it's definitely there.
23:42Now, the juice itself, the flavour, the Fiji apple lime strawberry,
23:47Kuyuki make excellent juices.
23:50And on eco mode, I actually enjoy that flavour.
23:54That is a really nice flavour.
23:56On the boost mode, I think it's a little bit too powerful for that particular juice.
24:01Because it does kind of mute the flavour.
24:05We'll try it with the Yorkshire sipper in a minute.
24:07Because I think this one might be better on the boost mode.
24:12But I am actually really impressed with that.
24:15I have got...
24:17I don't...
24:18I can't even find...
24:21You know what I'm like on this channel.
24:23I look for things to complain about.
24:25That's what I do.
24:26And I'm finding very little to actually complain about.
24:31I think the only thing I'm complaining about is the fact that boost mode is too powerful for this particular
24:36juice.
24:38But I can't really blame the device.
24:40That's just me choosing the wrong juice to put in it.
24:45But...
24:47This one...
24:48Oh, excuse me.
24:49The Yorkshire sipper has had a few minutes now.
24:53This is, again, a very good juice.
24:55Yorkshire sipper, tea and biscuits.
24:57I've gone through bottles of this stuff.
25:00But that's on boost.
25:03And I think we do need it on a little bit more power for that.
25:08Oh yeah, this is a lower own pod.
25:10Or a higher own pod.
25:11So it's going to go up to 50.
25:13Which is the maximum wattage.
25:17And let's try.
25:24Oh yeah.
25:26Yeah.
25:27The juice is the difference.
25:36Yeah.
25:37Now that I've got a juice in it that can actually handle the heat.
25:41I did make the mistake of putting the wrong juice in the wrong pod.
25:46I think the Yorkshire sipper would be better in the 0.4 ohm.
25:52And the Kuyuki would be better in the 0.6.
25:55So that's my mistake.
25:57I put the wrong juices in.
25:59But I didn't know I was making that mistake until I actually tried the device.
26:05But that is really good.
26:16I literally cannot find anything to complain about with that.
26:22And the juice, in fact both juices I've put in this, are really, really good.
26:29The only thing is, when you buy this device, get it from a proper vape shop.
26:35Because if you're running a lower own device, you're going to want a juice that can handle a higher temperature
26:42device.
26:44Not juice that requires a little bit of a lower temperature.
26:50So a vape shop will be able to help you get the right juice for this device.
26:55Because that is the only thing what I can pull up as wrong.
27:02And it's my mistake.
27:04It's not the device.
27:05So if I had to get really, really nitpicky, the body is very fingerprint hungry.
27:16It's sucking fingerprints up and getting a little bit dirty.
27:22That's the only thing I can criticise on it.
27:27I really do like that device.
27:32But, I'm going to be giving this a real test.
27:36Because when Oxford contacted me, they said they want me to publish my review on the 10th of September.
27:45Now, I'm not going to be able to do that because, at the point of recording, I get on a
27:53plane to go on holiday in about 8 hours time.
27:58And this guy, both of the pods, are coming with me.
28:03So I'm going to see how these handle.
28:06One, being on a plane.
28:09Because we all know planes for an open vape is kryptonite.
28:15It's very rare that a vape will survive a plane flight.
28:19So, this is going to be with me on that flight.
28:22And it's going to be in the hotter, more humid temperature of the Spanish coast.
28:28And I'm going to continue using it whilst I'm there.
28:32And when I get back, I'll do the part 2 to this video and let you know what I thought
28:37after a week of using it on holiday.
28:40So, there we go.
28:41So, initially, straight out the box, I am really, really impressed with it.
28:46It's a very, very good device.
28:49Apart from the fingerprint thing, I've got no complaints.
28:54I can't find a single thing to complain about that isn't my own fault.
29:02That's as simple as I can put it.
29:05I am really impressed.
29:08But, yeah, we'll see how it survives my week in Spain and the plane journey there and back.
29:16If it survives that, then it should be good.
