00:20I hope you're doing okay because I'm doing okay too.
00:22And I want to look at a device today that is made, manufactured, produced, designed.
00:31Everything you can think about this device is done right here in the UK.
00:39No China, no Korea, no anywhere else.
00:43It's completely 100% UK made.
00:49Everything from the design, to the production, to the juice, everything.
00:55And I kind of like that because it's an extremely rare thing to find that these days.
01:00And I have two devices.
01:02So the first one is this.
01:06And the second one is this.
01:11So this top box here is the first one.
01:15It's the e-cigarette starter kit.
01:18The box directly underneath that is the refills for that starter kit.
01:24This other box is the Smoco Vape Max.
01:29This box is the battery.
01:31And then I have two boxes of refills.
01:36I have raspberry and blackcurrant.
01:38And they also have some new flavors for the Vape Max.
01:43A little light is invading my thing away.
01:45So these are samples that are coming out very soon.
01:49So this is a free sample of their mango flavor for their Vape Max.
01:56And this is a free sample of the watermelon ice for their Vape Max.
02:01And we are going to open both of them.
02:04And there's something particularly interesting about the Vape Max.
02:10I'll get to that when we get to that device.
02:12So this is a brand called Smoco.
02:16I haven't said that yet.
02:17But obviously it's on the box.
02:19Smoco UK's premium e-cigarettes.
02:24Completely fully made in the UK in every single aspect.
02:29And I love that.
02:31It's two homegrown devices.
02:35Beautiful.
02:37So I'm going to push the Vape Max to one side.
02:40And we're going to look at this one.
02:43This is the e-cigarette starter kit.
02:46Now I believe this one is a cigalike.
02:52It's meant to look and work like an actual cigarette.
02:56So let's actually crack this open.
02:59And we will see.
03:01So we have not very much in the box.
03:06We have here is a little tiny bit of a leaflet for instructions.
03:16Yep.
03:17We also have a very small USB.
03:22Oh.
03:23It's got one of the original threads on it.
03:26I tell you what.
03:27This is going to be a very nostalgic thing for me.
03:30This because my very first Vape was a cigalike.
03:35With that exact connection on the charger.
03:39So I'm excited now.
03:41So here is a much smaller box.
03:44It's one rechargeable e-cigarette battery.
03:52Yeah.
03:53Let's get the battery open as well.
03:58And let's just see.
04:01Come out.
04:03There we go.
04:05Oh.
04:06Now I have to be completely honest.
04:09This is bringing back memories for me here.
04:13I haven't seen a cigalike for what feels like years.
04:23Yeah.
04:24I'm already kind of liking that.
04:27Let's actually open these.
04:29Now the refills are mint breeze.
04:33Should be five of them in here.
04:36And yeah.
04:36Looks like there are.
04:38One, two, three, four, five.
04:39Yep.
04:40There's five.
04:42And we get another instruction thing in here.
04:46Which is exactly the same as the one we got in the box for the device itself.
04:54Yeah.
04:54It's exactly the same.
04:57This has got so much nostalgia for me now this.
05:02But let's open one of these.
05:05And we'll get it out.
05:07Let's get the rubber seals off.
05:12It's exactly the same.
05:16This is exactly the same as my first ever vape.
05:23And I kind of like it.
05:25There's a fair amount of weight in that as well.
05:27That, for what it is, that's pretty heavy.
05:32I mean, you couldn't replace an actual cigarette with that because of the weight.
05:37But I am really liking that so far.
05:41You know what?
05:42Let me just give it a go.
05:47So, traditional blue light on the end.
05:53This is bringing back so many memories.
05:56So many memories.
06:07As much as I like the nostalgia of it.
06:11The performance of it is very SIGGLE-like.
06:18The performance is basically exactly the same as the old SIGGLE-likes we used to have.
06:24I'm going to guess inside the refill pod is one of the original.
06:31What was the original one called?
06:33It was basically a...
06:34It wasn't a Nichrome.
06:36I think it was...
06:38I forget what kind of coil is in these.
06:40But there's a particular type of coil used in these original SIGGLE-likes that's different from any other vape we
06:48get on the market.
06:49And it's not very good, which is why it was largely forgotten about.
07:02But that is working.
07:03There's not much cloud production.
07:06Flavour is a little bit muted.
07:09So, Mint Breeze, I am getting the mint.
07:13Maybe a touch of ice there as well.
07:16But it's just a little bit on the muted side.
07:28And cloud production isn't great either.
07:33Airflow is exactly what I'd expect from this kind of device.
07:38Very restrictive.
07:39Almost like they've tried to tune it to be as close to the airflow of an actual SIGGLE-likes as
07:46possible.
07:47That's the image I'm getting.
07:52But you know what?
07:53If you are looking to quit, this would be a good transitional device.
07:58You'll have to get used to the weight of it.
08:00It's very heavy on the battery side.
08:03So, if you want to try and hold it like a normal cigarette, it might take a little bit of
08:07getting used to purely because of the weight.
08:17You know what?
08:18But for a seasoned vaper like myself, it's not that good.
08:25But, and here's my but.
08:28If you are looking to quit cigarettes and you want to get onto a vape device, this would be an
08:36excellent transitional device for you.
08:42So, yeah, I can't put it any clearer than that.
08:44This would be an excellent transitional device.
08:48So, let's leave this to one side now.
08:52Let's just push this all over here.
08:55And we're going to look back at this, which is the second device.
09:01This is the Smokko Vape Max.
09:06Now, this one's actually a pre-filled pod design.
09:10So, it's not a SIG light like the one we just looked at.
09:12This is something a little bit more close to what we're used to.
09:18So, let's get this one open.
09:20And in the box we have, it's very tightly packed in there.
09:27Oh, there's the device.
09:30We also have a very, very tiny USB lead.
09:37Okay.
09:38And there are some instructions in here, which I can't seem to get out.
09:46Tweezers.
09:47Yeah, right.
09:49So, I had to use tweezers to get them out.
09:52And, oh, a much larger instruction thing this time.
10:01Only one-sided.
10:02And very, very small text.
10:06Like, I'm not sure how that would come across on the camera.
10:11But the text is very, very small.
10:16In fact, I kind of have to bring it very close to my face to be able to read that.
10:23But, yeah, here is the device.
10:29And it does kind of look familiar.
10:33On the bottom we have a USB-C recharge and a button.
10:41Which, by the look of it,
10:44five presses turns the device on and off.
10:49Now, the flavor out of all of these that I want to try more than any is the watermelon ice.
10:55So, that's the one I'm going to put in it.
10:56I'm going to open the box of blackcurrant refills first.
11:01Just so we can see how these are packaged.
11:08Oh, they're packed pretty much the same way as the sample.
11:16Now, I will admit blackcurrant.
11:19I will vape a blackcurrant vape.
11:21But it's not my preferred flavor.
11:25Which is why I'm going to go for the watermelon ice.
11:28So, let's open the watermelon ice.
11:31And I did say there's something interesting about this before as well.
11:36And I'll get to that in a moment.
11:38And it did have a rubber seal in it.
11:41I've just inadvertently pulled that out as I was removing it from the bag.
11:44But let's drop it in.
11:48Ooh.
11:50Now, that was actually a satisfying click.
11:55When that goes in.
11:58And that is strong magnets as well.
12:01That pod is not going to fall out very easily.
12:06Right.
12:07You know what?
12:07Let me have a go of this one before we get any more into it.
12:21Hmm.
12:37Okay.
12:38So, um...
12:55So, the device does work.
12:59The airflow is really good.
13:00It's got a really nice design.
13:02It feels really comfortable in the hand.
13:05I am not vibing with that flavor.
13:09Watermelon ice is one of my all-time favorite flavors for vaping.
13:15And although I am tasting the watermelon ice,
13:19it's kind of the same thing what we found on the Sigalike device.
13:24The flavor is very, very muted.
13:28Very muted.
13:30The flavor is there.
13:32Don't get me wrong.
13:34I just want more.
13:37I want more flavor.
13:39It doesn't feel like there's any very much there.
13:51You know what?
13:51I actually am going...
13:53Now I've opened the box just to see because the watermelon ice flavor is a sample of a new flavor
14:01they're developing.
14:03Let me actually try the blackcurrant.
14:07I know I said the blackcurrant isn't one of my preferred flavors.
14:10But I just want to see if there's a difference between an actual one they have fully developed and a
14:18sample of a brand new one.
14:20So, this is the blackcurrant in here now.
14:31Hmm.
14:35Hmm.
14:48Okay.
14:50Okay.
14:50um, same thing with the blackcurrant. The flavour is there, but it's very, very muted.
14:59And I am going to pull them up on something, because if you look at the box,
15:03it says the flavour is meant to be a smooth flavour. The blackcurrant isn't actually smooth.
15:10I'm finding that quite harsh. On the back of the throat, it's a little bit harsh.
15:26You know what, I'm liking the device, but so far we've tried the watermelon and the blackcurrant flavours,
15:34and neither of them are really vibing with me. Again, the blackcurrant kind of,
15:39it's very, very harsh and strong on the back of the throat.
15:45And I kind of want more from the flavour. It's a very subtle, very muted flavour.
15:52I can taste the blackcurrant. It just leaves me wanting more from each puff.
16:01You know what, right, so we've tried the watermelon and the blackcurrant.
16:06Neither of them are really vibing. I'm going to open this raspberry box,
16:12and I'm just going to try one of the raspberries.
16:17I've got four flavours here. One of them should be good.
16:21I'm hoping one of them will be good.
16:24So this is the raspberry flavour.
16:29And let's have a go with this one now as well.
16:53It's exactly the same.
16:55The flavour is there.
16:58I can taste the raspberry, but again, it's mild.
17:06Again, it leaves me wanting more.
17:09There's barely, it's like a hint of a flavour, and then not much else.
17:16I really do want more out of this.
17:19So the only other flavour I've got left is mango.
17:22And mango can be quite a strong flavour if it's made right.
17:30So I'll try the mango.
17:32This is the mango flavour in the device now.
17:34Let's have a go with this one.
17:51OK, the mango flavour is the strongest flavour out of all four that we've tried.
18:00But again, it still leaves me wanting more.
18:03There's not enough flavour, flavour.
18:07There's not enough of a flavour in there.
18:10Like I can taste the mango.
18:14But again, it just leaves me wanting.
18:27The airflow across all four pods has been actually pretty good.
18:32The device itself is pretty good.
18:35The only thing that's letting this down is the flavours.
18:40We've tried all four flavours now, and yeah.
18:50One thing I will point out about the mango.
18:54It is a stronger flavour.
18:56But it seems to have much less cloud production than any of the other three.
19:06I really wanted this one to be like amazingly nice because it's completely made in the UK.
19:14And there are some brands and manufacturers out there based in the UK that make some epic flavours.
19:25Epic flavours.
19:27Shy Tots makes epic flavours.
19:29Mod Fog makes epic flavours.
19:32Fugly makes epic flavours.
19:37And that's just a small selection, by the way.
19:39I'm just top of my head.
19:41But this is kind of disappointing on the flavour aspect.
19:49So, yeah.
19:51I was really looking forward to this one completely.
19:55100% UK made.
20:00And it's falling down on the most important aspect, which is the flavour.
20:07That's where the device falls down.
20:10Everything else about it is really good.
20:13Just the flavours and not there.
20:17Let's get into the bit which I mentioned before, where there's something about this device.
20:24And this something about the device is possibly going to be more beneficial.
20:31But when I tell you this something, it's not going to be 100% UK made if you do what
20:40I'm about to show you.
20:42Because I have another device here.
20:45And this is Elfbar's Elflick.
20:50And you can see the Elfbar Elflick is a very similar design to the Smoko.
20:58And because it's a similar design, the Elfbar pods are fully compatible with the Smoko device.
21:18That's the Elfbar pod in there now.
21:21And the flavour is a hundred times better.
21:25I think that's a mango I've got in there, is it?
21:29I think that's a mango flavour on the Elfbar pod.
21:36Yeah, it's mango.
21:38And it's a hundred times better than the Smoko mango.
21:43But it should also mean that these pods are also fully compatible with the Elfbar Elflick.
21:50And they are.
21:51Let's try it.
22:01Somehow the flavour is even worse in the Elfbar device.
22:12So this is the mango one.
22:15This is the Smoko mango that I've now put into the Elfbar device.
22:24And it is working.
22:26Let me just put the Smoko pod back in the Smoko device.
22:39Okay.
22:40So in terms of usability, they are interchangeable pods.
22:46They're exactly cross compatible, however you want to say it.
22:50You can use Elfbar pods and Smoko pods interchangeably with either Elfbar or Smoko devices.
23:01Smoko pods though will taste better in the Smoko device than they do the Elfbar one.
23:10But an Elfbar pod will taste the same regardless of the device.
23:17So take that however you want it with that.
23:23In all honesty, the flavours I'm getting out of these four pods.
23:29I actually don't think I'm going to use this.
23:34There's no flavour.
23:36There is a flavour.
23:38It's just very, very lacking.
23:42I want and expect more from a vape.
23:46And these flavours from Smoko, I hate to say it but they're kind of poor.
23:56I can't really say it any better than that.
23:59I really wanted to look forward to this device.
24:02I really wanted to love it because it's 100% UK made.
24:06And the flavours are a letdown.
24:11They just need more.
24:14And even though it says that Blackcurrant one especially, with it saying smooth on the box,
24:21that is extremely harsh on the back of the throat.
24:24My throat is actually a little bit sore now from that Blackcurrant one.
24:27It's that harsh.
24:29The other three flavours weren't that bad.
24:33They were not really harsh.
24:35It's just that Blackcurrant one in particular.
24:40So, yeah, out of the two devices we've looked at,
24:44I actually prefer the first one we looked at, which is the Sigalike.
24:51And for some reason, my light's just timed out.
24:53Let me turn...
24:54Ooh, no, something just popped and I don't know what it was.
24:57Ah, well, I'll figure it out in a minute.
25:00Ooh, I blew a fuse.
25:03That's what you want.
25:07Trust me to blow a fuse halfway through using something.
25:12Let me just quickly sort that out.
25:14There we go.
25:15Just unplug it on.
25:16Right.
25:17Yeah, we'll do it a little bit in the darker.
25:19But yeah, I actually much prefer the Sigalike than the Vape Max.
25:29I haven't got any other way I can put it apart from that.
25:35So, I better go and change this fuse now, guys.
