The Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly witnessed a debate between the treasury bench and the opposition over governance, law and order, and corruption allegations. During the assembly session, references were made to investigative documents from the Enforcement Directorate and findings from historical inquiry commissions regarding administrative misuse and financial irregularities. The discussion highlighted allegations concerning illicit financial transactions, party fund collections, and organized extra charges between 2021 and 2025. In response to the claims raised on the assembly floor, opposition members staged a walkout, dismissing the statements made during the address. The treasury bench maintained that the police force operates with operational freedom to address law and order concerns across the state, asserting that administrative files regarding various departments will be examined according to procedure. The proceedings reflected ongoing political friction over accountability and governance records.
