00:00Showing our viewers the visuals from inside the Tamil Nadu Assembly in which the marshals can be clearly seen
00:05and how they are physically removing the DMK MLAs who were in fact protesting,
00:11who were demanding that the Chief Minister's remarks must be expunged,
00:15after which the Speaker denied, refused to expunge those remarks.
00:18And there you see the marshals are now inside the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
00:23The Speaker had called in the marshals and they are now physically removing the DMK MLAs.
00:29It can be clearly seen in these visuals.
00:31Now these DMK MLAs were staging sit-in protests inside the Assembly itself,
00:35after which the marshals were called in.
00:37And as you can see in these visuals, how they are escorting and taking away the DMK MLAs from inside
00:44the Assembly.
00:45They are taking them out of the Assembly after the Speaker's order.
01:15We had yet again requested the Speaker that those statements that have been made by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister were
01:22in fact incorrect and misinformation was being spread.
01:25That is why we wanted the Speaker to remove parts of the Chief Minister's speech there that weren't related to
01:31the Tamil Nadu Assembly to be expunged.
01:33And that is what we had questioned.
01:35What wrong is it?
01:36We haven't asked for anything wrong is what the DMK MLAs is going ahead and stating.
01:59Speaking outside the Tamil Nadu Assembly is saying that, condemning the remarks made by the Chief Minister and he's saying
02:05that he talked about things which were not even related to the Assembly matters.
02:09And that is why the DMK is now demanding that those remarks must be expunged.
02:14But the Speaker has refused to expunge those remarks, after which the DMK MLAs were protesting against those remarks.
02:21And in fact, they were staging a sit-in protest inside the Assembly, after which the marshals were called in
02:27by the Speaker and the DMK MLAs were removed from the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
02:32So, a lot of anger that can be seen among the DMK MLAs who are now slamming the TVK government.
02:38In fact, the DMK MLAs are saying that irresponsible statements were made by the Chief Minister and those must be
02:47expunged.
02:48Those have nothing to do with the Assembly.
02:50But the Speaker has outrightly refused to expunge those remarks which were made by the Chief Minister.
03:07So, these are the visuals from inside the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
03:11You can clearly see the marshals now entering the Tamil Nadu Assembly and how they are physically removing the DMK
03:17MLAs who were protesting and were demanding that the remarks of the Chief Minister be expunged.
03:25And these are some fresh visuals from inside the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
03:29So, high drama.
03:30And you can see in these visuals how the DMK MLAs are now coming out of the Assembly.
03:35So, on the right, you can see how the marshals entered and were physically removing these DMK MLAs.
03:40On the left, you can see the DMK MLAs now exiting and being taken out of the Assembly.
03:49And my colleague Apoorva continues to stay with us.
03:52Apoorva, tell us more about the demands that are being raised by these DMK MLAs.
03:57We are exclusively showing our viewers the visuals from inside the Assembly as well as from outside the Assembly in
04:03which the marshals can be clearly seen escorting these DMK MLAs, these protesting DMK MLAs out of the Assembly.
04:38Well, that's right.
04:40When the Chief Minister had talked about Missile, when the Chief Minister talked about emergency and, you know, the kind
04:44of hand gestures that were made by the Chief Minister.
04:47And that's what the DMK MLAs there, be it Eva Velu or Keir Nehru there, who were present inside the
04:52Assembly today.
04:53They had gone ahead and requested that the Speaker allowed that these certain kind of misinformation that had been said
05:00by the Chief Minister, which go ahead and be expunged from the Tamil Nadu Assembly records.
05:05For which we saw the TVK's MLA and Minister there, Adhav Arjuna, going ahead and stating that there was nothing
05:11wrong in what the Chief Minister had gone ahead and stated yesterday in the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
05:16And rather that he won't, and in fact the Chief Minister also agreeing to it, saying that even yesterday, the
05:21one hour that the Chief Minister had gone ahead and spoken,
05:24we saw the DMK MLAs going ahead and creating ruckus, not allowing the Chief Minister to go ahead and speak
05:30in silence.
05:31So, there was nothing wrong in what the Chief Minister stated. None of his speech will be expunged, just what
05:36the speaker, Tamil Nadu Speaker has gone ahead and given a response to the DMK MLAs.
05:41Following which there was a battle of words that erupted between the TVK's Minister, Adhav Arjuna and the DMK MLAs
05:47as well,
05:47in which Adhav Arjuna also goes ahead and makes a shocking statement, wherein he compares DMK's corruption to being as
05:54cancer that has been spread throughout, you know, Tamil Nadu.
05:58And following which the DMK MLAs had attempted for the second day today to approach the Speaker's chair,
06:04requesting that the Chief Minister's speech and the kind of speech that has been made today in the Assembly as
06:09well,
06:09be expunged, those that are derogatory.
06:12Following which, with the DMK MLAs sitting down on the ground before the Speaker's chair, going ahead and protesting that,
06:19All right, Apoor, do stay with us.
06:21We're also being joined by Anika Keshav on the broadcast, who's in fact with the DMK MLAs amid this high
06:28drama inside the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
06:30Anika, if you could speak to the DMK MLAs and understand about their demands.
06:40In fact, I'm surrounded by DMK MLAs here in the Secretariat.
06:43They've just been removed out of the Assembly.
06:46There was a huge ruckus that happened there.
06:48And the leader that you see on your screens is E.V. Velu.
06:51He was the one taking in charge for DMK today.
06:54The main demand of the DMK is to expunge the Chief Minister's speech yesterday.
06:58They say that every single thing that the Chief Minister made yesterday was only based out of allegations and nothing
07:05really was supported by facts and truth.
07:07And therefore, the MLAs here, the DMK MLAs are demanding that the Chief Minister's speech be expunged from the Assembly.
07:15And therefore, when situation really got out of control, the Speaker demanded the Marshals to sort of remove the MLAs.
07:22Sir, do you think what happened today was in spirit of democracy?
07:27No, no, sir, but then the Marshals were instructed to remove all DMK MLAs.
07:31No, no, no, no.
07:32I don't want to say anything.
07:35I mean, he is doing that.
07:37That was DMK's former Minister, Raghu Pati.
07:40They're all pretty, you know, angered by what has really happened here.
07:45Because the fact that so many MLAs were removed from the floor of the House for, you know,
07:50for demanding the Chief Minister's speech to be expunged has really angered a lot of DMK MLAs here.
07:57What they're mainly saying is that it's against the spirit of democracy.
08:00All that they wanted, according to them, is to expunge the Chief Minister's speech.
08:04But then the Speaker says, you know, the things that the Chief Minister listed out yesterday was only what was
08:10there in public domain.
08:11It wasn't hit and run sort of a statement.
08:13It's only listed down the ED's dossier, which was there in public domain.
08:17So, therefore, there is no need to expunge the Chief Minister's speech was the decision taken by the Speaker.
08:23In fact, the floor leader, Sengotian, also requested the Speaker to suspend the MLAs.
08:28But then the Speaker later took a decision to sort of remove the protesting DMK MLAs out of the House.
08:33The Speaker also offered to let E.V. Velu speak for however long that he wishes to.
08:37But the DMK MLAs wanted the Chief Minister's speech to be expunged from the Assembly no matter what.
08:43So, that's why they're all here pretty angered by what has transpired today in the Assembly.
08:48They're also saying that the Speaker has acted one-sided.
08:51The fact that yesterday Uday Nidhi was not allowed to speak and that's why we are walking out from the
08:56floor of the House
08:57is what the DMK MLAs are saying.
08:58And all of them swarmed to the well of the House, sitting down on the floor of the House,
09:03demanding that the Chief Minister's speech be expunged.
09:06It's also quite interesting to note that the leader of opposition, Uday Nidhi Stalin,
09:11gave today's Assembly session a miss.
09:14He's not present today.
09:15So, it's the other second-level leadership from the DMK who are present today,
09:19demanding for Chief Minister's speech to be expunged.
09:22But the Speaker has made it clear that nothing of that sort is going to happen.
