Day 6 pre-run thoughts on the Temu shoe test. So far, the shoes still feel fine β€” the knee pain and hip pain I've been dealing with seem more likely tied to just getting back into running after time off, not the shoes themselves.

Today's plan: pushing the distance a bit further, running 1.2 miles instead of sticking to just the single mile I've been doing so far. A small but meaningful step forward in this running progression, testing how the body and the shoes both handle a slightly longer distance.

Extending distance is always a good test of how your body's actually adapting. When did you first push past your usual distance in a running routine?

00:00is going on today is day six of wearing the team you shoes with the stock insoles in them to
00:05run
00:06this running test running experiment that i am doing so far i still think they feel fine
00:15my knees and hips do hurt but it could be because you know i'm just starting to run again i
00:22don't
00:22know if it necessarily has anything to do with the shoes but we're gonna get this in today i'm hoping
00:30to get maybe a little bit under nine minute miles i guess i just need to step up my pace
00:36a little bit
00:37i am still fast at this morning so i'm hopefully i'm gonna feel a little less bloated and things
00:41on this run and i did the bike today instead of doing the treadmill so in theory i should have
00:46a
00:46little bit more energy in my legs to get them moving and i want to start running a little bit
00:51farther so instead of running exactly one mile i might run 1.2 miles today and run just to like
01:00the end of the street which will give me a little bit more and then you know next week i'll
01:05run to
01:06the end of the next street and then it'll just keep on adding and adding until i get to sunday
01:09which is
01:10my longer run day anyway probably gonna do like three to six miles on sunday with these same shoes
01:15to test them out and then that'll be the last day of the test before we put in the more
01:19expensive
01:19insoles but yeah let's go ahead and get to this run
