00:23So you can see I'm currently here logged into my Gmail. Now the best way to do this is actually
00:28through incognito mode on Google Chrome. To do that, you want to come up to the top right-hand corner,
00:33click onto the three dots, and you're going to see an option to open a new incognito window.
00:37Give that a click. What that's going to do is open an incognito window.
00:41And from here, you can come across to google.com. Just accept the terms that come up.
00:46Then what you can do is Google search for Gmail. And what you're going to want to do is click
00:50onto
00:50the top result. So it's going to take you across to the Gmail page. And from here,
00:55you should see an option to create an account. So just give that a click. What it's going to do
00:59is ask if you want to use this for personal use or for a work or business. In this example,
01:05I'm just
01:05going to select for my personal use. And to create Gmail, you first need to create a Google account.
01:11So what you want to do is enter your first and last name into the boxes here. And once you've
01:16done that,
01:16click onto next. Then what you need to do is enter your birthday and gender and click next. And then
01:22what
01:22it's going to ask you to do is create an email address. So it's going to give you some example
01:26emails, which you can use, but you can select the option to create your own Gmail address.
01:32And what you would do is enter the email address that you would like to use into the box here.
01:36Just bear in mind that the not all emails will be available, but you can say I'm going to use
01:40this
01:40one and it's going to be at gmail.com. So once you've done that, click next. If it's available,
01:45it's going to take you to the next section. But if it's not available, it's going to prompt you to
01:49enter
01:49a new email. What you then want to do is create a password. Once you've done that, click next.
01:55Then what it's going to do is a verification check. So what you need to do at this point is
01:59enter
01:59a mobile number and they're going to send a code to your mobile number, which is going to basically
02:05verify your account and make sure you're not a robot. So you want to enter that into the box here
02:08and then come down and click next at the bottom. Once you've done that, you're going to receive a six
02:14digit code to your phone number. So what you need to do is enter that into the next screen here.
02:19And then come down and click next. And then it's going to ask if you want to add a recovery
02:23email
02:24address. So you can do this or if you want, you can just skip past this for now and add
02:28it later
02:29on if you want to. So in this quick example, I'm just going to skip through this bit. Then it's
02:33going
02:33to take you to this screen where it's going to ask you to review your account info. And what you
02:37would
02:37do is just click next. What you can then do is choose your settings. So you can make a single
02:41choice
02:42that applies to all settings, or you can make step-by-step choices for each setting. So this is down
02:47to
02:47personal preference, but personally, I just choose it in one step. It just makes it a lot quicker.
02:52And what you can then do is read through all the terms, things like this, come down and click the
02:57accept all button at the bottom. And then there's going to be some more information about cookies and
03:01things like that. Again, just scroll down and click on to confirm. Finally, there's just a final bit
03:06to read through, which includes the terms, service, privacy policy, things like that. Again,
03:11just scroll down, click. I agree. And once you've done that, it's just going to take a minute or two
03:15to go
03:15through and then what's going to happen. You'll be taken to this screen here, asking if you want
03:19to turn on smart features to get more out of Gmail chat and made. So if you decide to turn
03:25this on,
03:25you can see what this does. So this includes things like smart reply, where it basically
03:29is like an auto predict where it suggests quick replies and there's some other features as well.
03:34So you can choose whether you want to turn this on or off again, it's all down to personal preference
03:38and then click next. And again, it's going to ask if you want to turn on smart features in workspace,
03:42I prefer to have this turned on. So I'm going to do that and then click next. And again,
03:47for other Google products. So again, I'm going to select to turn it on and click save at the bottom.
03:52So at this point, it might ask you to reload Gmail, just to apply your changes. So you can click
03:57the
03:57reload button. As you can see, our account has now been created. So that's a quick overview on how to
04:03create a new Gmail account. Make sure to like comment and subscribe for more Gmail and simple tech tutorials.
