00:00I am in Holly Beach, Louisiana, monitoring the storm surge threat.
00:04You can see how flat the beach is here.
00:06That is the angry gulf just behind me off to the south.
00:10And you can even see the eyewall of this tropical storm.
00:13That's the cloud line right there with clearing skies off to the south.
00:17That is the center of the tropical cyclone.
00:19Right now we've got shore parallel winds there out of the east,
00:23just due north of the center of Tropical Storm Edouard.
00:27There you can see the center of it, just offshore.
00:30Once those winds shift to a southerly direction on the back side of the storm,
00:34that's when the two to four foot storm surge is going to arrive.
00:37And it might even breach the road here, the coastal highway.
00:41But we've got some strengthening easterly winds, tropical storm force here.
00:45Not very much in the way of heavy rain just yet.
00:48There is a heavier band moving through Sabine Pass right now.
00:51But you can definitely see the water is getting pushed parallel to the shore here right now.
00:56But once this tropical cyclone passes to the west and those winds shift to onshore,
01:02that is when we're going to be concerned about the storm surge threat.
01:05Bye-bye.
