Transcript
00:00I am here in a very wet southeast Texas tracking the remnants of Tropical Storm Edoir.
00:06Now this was a very small storm but had quite an impact here in southeast Texas.
00:11I started tracking the storm yesterday as it made landfall near Sabine Pass and then it followed it north through
00:17Port Arthur and Beaumont.
00:18When I reached Beaumont some of the worst effects of the storm were felt there as the winds continued to
00:23increase,
00:24causing problems there, bringing down power lines and causing those power outages through that community.
00:29But the big story was likely the flooding that occurred overnight.
00:33Immense amounts of rain fell here in southeast Texas, prompting flash flood emergencies this morning for communities like Lumberton, Warren
00:42and Kuntz, Texas.
00:44As I drove north on 287 through Beaumont, I was seeing businesses and homes flooded out in Lumberton.
00:51And then north of Kuntz on 287, the floodwaters had overtaken the road with a couple of vehicles stalled out.
00:59But still, many vehicles trying to drive through those floodwaters.
01:02Thankfully, some of those cars decided to turn around and move northbound in the southbound lanes to also not get
01:08stalled out.
01:09But it has been a very impactful storm here in southeast Texas as those rains continue to fall.
01:15And the rain continues to fall here in east Texas as the remnants move out of the area.
01:20A very small storm, but very impactful for its size.
01:25For AccuWeather, I'm Aaron J. Jack.
