00:00Let's start it up. And what I tell you, man, without a doubt, there is no doubt that this is
00:05one of the absolutely best stories going on.
00:09And this is the Bill Belichick story. Folks, I'll tell you flat out right now.
00:14There is no doubt everybody wanted this guy to lose in Dublin yesterday.
00:21All the media was ganging up on Bill and the UNC Tar Heel program.
00:27And you know what they were saying? Must win. They have to change the coach.
00:33The coach is out of touch. I mean, without a doubt, the media has hated Bill Belichick for his treatment
00:41of the media.
00:42And now they're taking it out on him at UNC. My thing with the media is so the media is
00:49portraying UNC to be some superstar college football power.
00:53Let's not forget, they were four games over .500 the last five years with Mack Brown as head football coach.
01:01And they were 0-4 when it came to their postseason, when it came to the bowl games.
01:06Let's not pretend that we see a program here that you thought Bill was going to go in and automatically,
01:13within a year, turn that thing into a 16-0 program.
01:16Look, very few times you're going to get a story like a Kurt Cignetti at Indiana.
01:21That just doesn't happen. Bill's building up this UNC program at a hoop school.
01:2815-10, they get a victory over TCU.
01:31And I will tell you this, that team from a year ago to where we see them right now, it's
01:37remarkable.
01:38And it's a hell of a coaching job that Bill did with this football team.
01:43They were six-and-a-half-point underdogs in this game going in.
01:47They made changes on the staff with all the chaos going around the program, with all the things that were
01:53being said with Mike Lombardi, all of that.
01:56People thought that Bill Belichick had lost his grip on coaching.
02:00Folks, Bill Belichick has not lost his grip on coaching.
02:03Bill Belichick is the greatest defensive-minded coach in pro football history.
02:09But because the media didn't like the way he handled them for over 20 years when he was in New
02:14England,
02:15they're taking their shots at Bill now, at UNC.
02:19And it was great yesterday to see him get a victory.
02:22Do I think he turns UNC into a national power? No.
02:26Do I think they become respectable? I do.
02:29If you're a high school kid or you're in the transfer portal and you've got an opportunity to go and,
02:37without a doubt, get a chance to do this,
02:39to have Bill Belichick coach you in college, how do you not want to go to UNC in Chapel Hill
02:46and play there in Chapel Hill?
02:49Great job at coaching.
02:51Great job at getting things done.
02:53Great also, I think, for the ACC.
02:55Now you've got another football program inside that conference that gives you a chance to really push closer and closer
03:03to the Southeastern Conference.
