00:00Remember yesterday in the show I told you the Bill Belichick experiment was a wrap in North Carolina?
00:04I do remember that.
00:05Yeah, right?
00:05And then all of a sudden, hours later yesterday, everything I said on this show came to fruition.
00:11So there's a story out there from people that cover North Carolina sports.
00:15Multiple sources now, yeah.
00:16Yeah, the UNC football program, that it's not only a wrap, it might be a wrap like today.
00:24So as the story goes, everyone recognizes that this is an unmitigated disaster.
00:30And Bill Belichick now recognizes it's an unmitigated disaster, and he is officially harming his legacy.
00:36That was our take yesterday on this show.
00:39Well, now it comes out.
00:40We've all known when he signed the contract at Carolina, because they made it public, that there was a $1 million buyout.
00:46That at any point, he could leave North Carolina and buy himself out of the contract if he writes a check for $1 million.
00:54Obviously, Bill's a very wealthy man.
00:56He has that kind of money.
00:57He could easily write that check.
00:59But nobody thought it was really going to happen unless an NFL team came courting him prior to the start of the North Carolina season.
01:08Well, that never happened.
01:09And for two years since he left New England, no NFL team has made him an offer.
01:14A couple teams have brought him in, quite famously.
01:16The Atlanta Falcons brought him in for an interview, and that didn't go anywhere.
01:19But now the official story is that Bill Belichick is not going to last the year, and that he is looking for an out.
01:28But prior to leaving North Carolina and signing the $1 million check to get us out, and this is where the hubris of Bill Belichick is not a positive.
01:38He's trying to find another job, as the story goes, in one of two lanes.
01:44He either wants to be guaranteed a broadcasting job.
01:48My gut is ESPN would hire him back in a finstant, which is quicker than an instant, as you know.
01:52Or he wants to find another coaching job.
01:56Well, let's play that out for a second.
01:59What current college team, having just witnessed what took place in North Carolina over the last six months,
02:07would ever now turn around to its boosters and say, it'll be different here.
02:11Let's go get Bill Belichick.
