00:00Well, this past week, Mike Lombardi was suspended for conduct.
00:06And it's an interesting one because it's more of an administrative suspension here.
00:10USC confirmed its investigation to the football program with General Manager Mike Lombardi,
00:16who was with Belichick, by the way, in New England as a general manager there.
00:20After placing him on paid administrative leave earlier this week,
00:24the athletic director, Steve Newmark, said he expects an expedient process
00:31following human resources complaint filed by former football front office employees.
00:36What we're hearing is that Mike Lombardi was hiring people that Belichick wanted
00:43and didn't go through a process on hiring and giving interviews for minority candidates.
00:50And this is one of the issues that he ended up falling in trouble with.
00:54And so the HR department there at UNC had a problem with the hiring practices
01:00of what Belichick was trying to do.
01:02Here lies the difference between the NFL and college football.
01:07You think that Rooney rule works in the National Football League?
01:11The Rooney rule is window dressing.
01:15When you're in a college atmosphere, you have to go by procedure.
01:20And this is what Bill Belichick doesn't understand.
01:23You're answering the people when you are in college football.
01:27The NFL, you run your own castle.

01:31That's not the case in college football.
01:34And that's probably one of the cases that he's struggling,

01:42Nick Saban turned out to be a bum.
01:44As an NFL head coach, Belichick was a superstar coach in the NFL.
01:51And Saban turned out to be a superstar college football coach.
01:56And what's turning out to be and what may end up being
01:59one of the worst experiments of all time
02:01from an NFL coach going down to the college level.
02:05You know, it used to be back in the day,
02:08college coaches can't cut it on the NFL level.
02:11Well, now that you've implemented nil and free agency, let's face it, transfer portals code for free agency.

03:04Look, this Belichick experiment looks like it's turning out to be a disaster.
03:09I don't really think Bill understood the landscape of how college football was changing.
03:14As he got into the game and you had to start paying kids and you had to start going through

03:23Bill thought that you were just going to get a kid, pick a phone up, and the kid was going
03:27to want to come and play to you.
03:29You know what kids say today when they get calls from colleges?

04:41Building a brand, making money, being seen for scouts to see me to have an opportunity to get drafted in

04:52Bill right now is on the cusp of being maybe one of the worst hires of all time.
