00:00How concerned are you about the injuries in Ashburn?
00:03The list is significant.
00:05Also worth pointing out, it's August 25th, not September 10th.
00:08Let's start with Mama Stu.
00:10How are you, Mama?
00:12Hey, guys.
00:13How are you?
00:14We're good.
00:14What's happening?
00:16Not too much.
00:17Just celebrating a birthday Saturday, so I'm good.
00:20All right.
00:21Happy birthday.
00:24I missed your birthday, too.
00:25I was listening, but I was at work.
00:27I couldn't call.
00:27But anyway, my concern level is at like a 5'6".
00:33I guess my greatest concern is just my observation.
00:37Like, I love Dan Quinn.
00:39Y'all know it.
00:39When he first got hired, I was the first one.
00:42I was like, I love to hire.
00:43He's the player's coach.
00:45You know, his experience and all that good stuff.
00:48But it's just my observation over the last couple of seasons, like,
00:52with the offensive line particularly, like,
00:54you got to build chemistry with guys.
00:57And just the interchanging.
00:59And I understand, like, you know, injuries happen and stuff like that.
01:03But, like, I found, like, just watch over the seasons, just like,
01:07it was like you got players changing in and out.
01:10I'm all for versatility and all of that.
01:12But you've got to have chemistry.
01:14And if you have a quarterback like we have, you know, we got the weapons that he needed.
01:20That's great.
01:21But you've got to protect the quarterback.
01:24And so my concern is, like, the attention to really focus on the chemistry building with the guys on the
01:33line.
01:33And so, with that said, you know, the injuries and stuff like that, that's going to happen.
01:38I think they're playing on the side of caution, to be honest with you.
01:42You know, and there's not so much that they're going to tell us.
01:45But, like, God, like, I just need him to, I need him to really, like, understand, like,
01:51not that he don't, I mean, he has coached, he's been in this league for a while.
01:54But, like, the chemistry is so vital to any success we're going to have.
02:00And so that's my, I'm more concerned about that than I am the injuries.
02:05That's fair, Mama Stukas.
02:07Here's the thing.
02:08Even if Allegretti does come back and is fine week one, he hasn't taken steps with Jaden.
02:15Right?
02:16Because when Allegretti played in the last two games last year,
02:20that was Josh Johnson.
02:21Well, he did all offseason before the training camp started.
02:25True.
02:25So, you still have that.
02:28Let's go to Devon in Rockville.
02:30Devon, what's up, man?
02:32What's up, buddy?
02:32What's up?
02:33What's happening?
02:34We are good, man.
02:35I'm going to say, man, I'm going to say, I'm more, I don't know the number to put on it,
02:41but it's more about the fact that they're not going to be in football shape.
02:44But, like, I'm not worried about snapping to Jaden Daniels more than Nick Allegretti
02:51who's just not going to be in football shape.
02:53He hasn't, he hasn't trained.
02:55You know what I'm saying?
02:55Like, he's getting mental reps.
02:57And outside of it, even if he does be ready for week one, we need backup.
03:02We need backup help that's good enough to be a starter as well.
03:05So, that's one position.
03:07But with all the other ones, I'm with Dee.
03:10Like, he always said this.
03:11Like, if we want to be, just as soon as they get a nick, it's a difference between being injured
03:17and hurt.
03:18You got to learn to play through being hurt to see what your body can withstand.
03:23And that's where, I'm with Mama Stu.
03:27That's where I think Dan Quinn be like, not, I don't know if babying and pampering is the right word
03:33to use,
03:34but it's like, do they ever fight through anything?
03:36Like, this is the time to fight through it to see how much their body can take
03:41instead of just being rushing to be ready for week one.
03:44And then, boom, they get a week one on top of their body.
03:46It's not even used to go on game speed or nowhere near it because they haven't even been practicing.
03:51And now they out there, and now it's faster, then they tweak something, and then now they out.
03:57You know what I'm saying?
03:57But it's like, when do we, like, let them practice hurt to see how much pain that they can play
04:03with?
04:03That's where I'm, that's where my great day.
04:07They don't do that no more, D.
04:09Many people, most teams don't do that anymore.
04:12Appreciate the call, Devon.
04:13Let's open these phones, 800-636-1067.
04:17800-636-1067.
04:20How concerned are you about the injury scale of 1 to 10?
04:23Anthony's in Martinsville.
04:24What's up, Anthony?
04:27Hey, how y'all doing, fellas?
04:28We're good, buddy.
04:29How are you?
04:30Good to hear y'all voice today.
04:31Hey, listen, my concern is that absolute zero.
04:35Absolute zero?
04:37Absolute zero.
04:38Minus zero.
04:39Listen, before Trey Burks got on his team, I couldn't pick them out of the lineup if he stole my
04:47wallet.
04:48Before that rookie got on the team, the running back that's doing good in the preseason, Henry with number 30
04:54on,
04:54I didn't know who that guy was, right?
04:57So they have a system.
05:00They're picking good players, and they're developing them.
05:03And so I just feel like we got to let them work, man.
05:07Hey, they get paid, and they're bringing in the right players.
05:10And I feel like they want to make it to week one.
05:12And some of these guys might not be as hurt as they say they are, but they're really looking at
05:16the overall goal.
05:17They want to get to week one.
05:19And so I'm going to put my faith in them until they give me a reason not to trust them.
05:22You know what I mean?
05:23They build in the roster.
05:24They bring in the right guys.
05:25I didn't know who Burks was.
05:27I had no idea he was in the NFL.
05:29You didn't know who Trey Burks was?
05:31He was a first-round pick.
05:32He was a big-time player.
05:33Yeah, he was going to see.
05:34I don't find, yeah.
05:36And they was talking about he was washed up, he was a bust, and he was dissing that and the
05:40other.
05:41But now you bring them to this team, and so I'm saying if they bring in another lineman once the
05:48cuts happen,
05:49they're probably going to do the same thing.
05:51A guy that wasn't good on another team probably going to come in here, they're going to plug him in,
05:55and keep it rolling.
05:57So I'm going to trust them.
05:58My concern is that a zero.
06:00I'm not sweating.
06:01If they ain't worried, I'm not worried.
06:03Sounds good, man.
06:03All right, bro.
06:04Appreciate you.
06:07It's interesting.
06:08Like, callers are kind of all over the place.
06:10We had a 9 out of 10.
06:11We had a negative 0 out of 10.
06:15For me, with the injuries, it kind of – one interesting part with the injuries is at what point –
06:25I don't know the right way to phrase this because you can't understate how big of a deal it is
06:31that Laramie Tunsil's likely –
06:33maybe not out for the year, but out for a significant period of time.
06:36But at what point do you not have to include him in the conversation?
06:40Because we know for sure we're not talking about Laramie for week one in Philly.
06:44But improve him – include him in what conversation?
06:46Like, when you say how concerned are you about the injuries –
06:50But Laramie's not playing the first 12 games or so.
06:54Right.
06:55He's in the back of the thought process right now.
06:58So you're not expecting him week one, two, three, four.
07:01Week ten.
07:01That's what I'm saying.
07:02So, like, as we start to have this conversation about the injuries getting closer and closer to week one, to
07:07me it's like Tunsil's kind of past that.
07:09You know what I mean?
07:10Like, the injuries that I'm concerned about going into week one, Owe, Amos, Bill, Allegretti, like, the guys that should
07:19really matter,
07:20Chase on, that I don't know the answer to.
07:24And honestly, can you play that cut again, Jeff?
07:27Number one from this morning, Dan Quinn, when he was just asked about Owe and Amos.
07:32Yeah, I'd say –
07:33Listen to the – start it over.
07:34I'm sorry, Jeff.
07:35Let me just set this up.
07:36Because I think it's John – I think it's Kime that asked him.
07:40And the audible sigh at this question, to me, maybe it's not what he says, but what he doesn't say.
07:48This is Dan Quinn asked about Adafa Owe and Trey Amos.
07:51Yeah, I'd say –
07:52That sigh, dude.
07:53I'll have a better answer for that into next week, John, as we get ready for those practices.
07:58We're fortunate that we have, you know, that space in between.
08:00They're both working hard and making progress, but I don't know if I'd have a number to gauge it just
08:05yet.
08:06And so that would be kind of my time that I'll have a better sense.
08:09But I think a lot of the sign, Jay, when you're asked a question today,
08:14you better be damn sure that you answer the question exactly how you want to answer it.
08:19Because he knows that you all are looking for stuff.
08:22And the whole thing about it is, what should I say here?
08:26Because everything is dissected and re-questioned.
08:29And look at the side.
08:31He was breathing, I thought.
08:33And then after that, later on, he gave you a little bit more of a deeper breath too.
08:36A deeper breath.
08:38So at this point, like, no matter what he says, it's going to be questioned.
08:42Sure.
08:43So he's trying to give you – let me give an answer where if they come back and said I
08:47said something,
08:47I know exactly what I said.
08:49Let's get – he went a little further speaking about Adafa Owe.
08:52Number two, Jeffrey.
08:56Yeah, I'd say I'll have a better answer for that in the next week, John, as we get ready for
09:01those practices.
09:03We're fortunate that we have, you know, that space in between.
09:05They're both working hard and making progress.
09:07But I don't know if I'd have a number to gauge it just yet.
09:11And so that would be kind of my time that I'll have a better sense.
09:14Well, let's have a chat with the Stallion here.
09:18Number one in the cuts available to Brian and I working in the field in a tent while you guys
09:24work in the air-conditioned studio,
09:25number one on the Dan Quinn cuts is DQ on Owe and Amos.
09:29Then there's a second number one DQ on Owe's injury update.
09:34So how would you like me to ask for the second number one, Stallion?
09:38I'll go and rephrase that.
09:40My bad.
09:41My bad.
09:43Jeff, can I get the second number one, please?
09:46Dan Quinn.
09:47Hold on, hold on.
09:48I hate to throw my boy under the bus, but the audios are the same for both number ones.
09:53Oh, so we just can't get that one.
09:56Fine.
09:57Number one is him answering Owe's injury and Amos there.
10:02Why is it listed twice then?
10:04I don't know.
10:05I don't know.
10:06Okay.
10:07We'll figure it out.
10:08Preseason for all of us, buddy.
10:09Number six, I'm going to assume is correct, even though there's two number ones.
10:14Jeff, I'd like to hear Dan Quinn talking about Ja'Cory Krosky-Merritt, a.k.a. Bill, the second-year
10:21running back.
10:22And with Bill, did you have specifics about what the nature of his injury was?
10:26Lower body.
10:27And T is doing well.
10:30He's working off to the side.
10:31You may see him some today, but it happened on, I think, the day before we left for the game.
10:40Are we going hockey mode now?
10:42Yeah.
10:43A football injury being described as lower body?
10:46Because they don't have to tell you right now, so they ain't going to get you nothing until they have
10:49to tell you.
10:49I can tell you this.
10:50You know what, if I was a coach right now, I would be doing exactly what he's doing because I
10:55listen to questions and I, there are a lot of questions that are asked and the answer that they expect,
11:01they don't get, they keep trying it again.
11:03Sure.
11:03If I was, if I was the guy being asked the questions, I would do exactly what he's doing.
11:08I did it while I played because when he asked me a question and I know you're searching for your
11:12answer, I gave you an answer.
11:14When you got home, you go, damn, he never answered my question.
11:17Sure.
11:17I'll talk for five minutes and never answer your question.
11:20I've been doing this a while and I'm very used to football coaches not actually answering questions.
11:24It's a, it's a skill of the trade.
11:27Jeffrey, number nine, injury update for Ben Sennett.
11:33For this week, he won't be.
11:35He injured his oblique in the game and so we're, he's kind of in the return to football phase for
11:41him.
11:42As he's going there, we haven't ruled him out, you know, for the game, but unlikely based on,
11:47like not going today and not going tomorrow.
11:51Um, this is anecdotal and I am not a doctor.
11:54Unlike the thousands of jackasses on Twitter that like to pretend they're doctors.
11:59Um, you're starting to think like I do.
12:01I did see Bill and Ben Sennett walk up the stairs today to go in the building.
12:06Generally, the, the guys that aren't going to practice still go out for individuals, do
12:10some side work with the trainers, whatever.
12:12I did see Bill and Ben walking up.
12:15I said, what's up?
12:16They said, what's up?
12:18I don't know that we're talking about a week one concern.
