00:43We're gonna have a an elbow upper arm extremity arm extremity orthopedic surgeon on the show with
00:53us at 12 today. It's a big Tony recommendation but actually it's a legitimate high level local
01:03orthopedic that deals in this kind of area elbow. So we'll have him on at 12 noon. All right so

01:11question is is the season over? I say no. It's way too early for it to be over. Part of
01:19it is I can't
01:20bail on a season after two weeks. I mean we just spent six months more than that right?
01:28Seven months, eight months since they played their last game gearing up for this thing and I think
01:35I've watched too much NFL football to know that things happen and Marcus Mariota is more than capable
01:42of playing quarterback in the NFL. He's not going to give you what Jameis gave you last night. That was
01:49that was horrible although I guess Marcus is capable of some bad performances. We've seen some of those
01:54but he's also capable of running the offense and being a playmaker and he's experienced. I think the
02:02key though if the season is going to remain alive for a period of time however long that is
02:09before Jaden Daniels comes back they have to be a much better defensive football team much better
02:17defensive football team and the signs were not there on Sunday. Max is the season over before I

02:32terms of long-term success uh going forward there are a lot more questions that are raised about

02:48going to get surgery or not or if he's going to do the Kurt Warner thing and decide to wear

03:44look the question really is is the season over from the perspective of having a chance to play
03:52truly standings meaningful games when we get to the latter portion of the season late November

04:09what Kurt Warner said on NFL Live yesterday about the time that he dislocated his elbow it is an

04:51preseason when when there were four games and your starters played the third preseason game at least a
04:57half and everybody used to do that and we don't see that anymore now all of a sudden we got
05:02a lot of
05:03players on teams banged up a lot of key guys so it's unfortunate for I think the beginning of the
05:10season was always going to be tough but I think we have games out there with Indy and with the
05:15Giants
05:16especially if Dart is a little banged up and who knows what's up with neighbors if we can get to
05:20two and four through the bye I think we have a stretch of games that will be favored in regardless
05:27who's a quarterback and I hate to say it for everyone who's listening this morning but if we want
05:32Jaden to be our long term he's going to need to have surgery and I think that's really the only
05:38way to
05:39really ensure we give him and the team the best platform moving forward we can't just put a band-aid
05:45on
05:45this wound we probably need to if it were something small where he gets a brace I think we would
05:51have
05:51heard by now and that's why I think Dan was so you know consistent on you'll hear Thursday or Friday
05:58we really want to wait we really want to wait because I think they know already but that's all

06:28Sunday night into Monday morning it was we we told you he should have had surgery last year I'm like
06:34huh I never heard people talking about surgery last year um should have should have worn a brace
06:40uh none of that was discussed Dan Quinn actually answered multiple questions Scott Abraham asked him
06:47about surgery said no it was never considered Ben asked him about a brace and he said look hindsight's
06:522020 but no it was healed and it was strong and you know the recurrence rate on these things is
06:59very low
06:59um and then uh Tommy asked him about you know did anybody say he was more susceptible after uh the
07:06one last year and he said no so what you saw yesterday was like almost a 180 degree turn on
07:14yeah he he should be able to to play with a brace once it's healed this was Kurt Warner let's
07:21play the
07:21Kurt Warner thing real quickly because I don't want to uh lose um lose that in in in playing it
07:28because we
07:29we we mentioned it and it was a very interesting take from a hall of fame quarterback about an elbow
07:35dislocation this was Kurt Warner yesterday only thing I would say is I suffered the exact same injury
07:40back in 07 and I played the next week I braced it up obviously a couple shots along the way

07:46hand the football off with my right hand in both directions but this to me is something because it's
07:51a left arm if he wants to play through that and get back out there and help his team I
07:56believe he can
07:57it's not going to be one of those things that affects the throwing part of things does it affect
08:01his movement does it make him running or some of the things they want to do by design maybe but
08:07I do
08:07believe this is something that he can come back from and because it's a left arm I don't think it's
08:11something we worry about long term and go oh should we extend this guy because he's had this type of
08:16injury and had this injury twice I believe it's something he can play through I wonder if the subpar
08:21offensive line and not having the left tackle they lost Cosme in this game too is one of their best
08:25offensive linemen to injury you know but do you factor in as an organization what if you're the
08:29player though I mean you say I can brace it up and go I don't care yeah I don't care
08:34about all that
08:34stuff let me go out and play I want to be out there with my guys as opposed to thinking

09:08are also saying yeah he could play with a brace and if he really needed surgery he could get it

09:13the season's over um yeah we'll see we'll see and again I'm gonna have somebody that deals in

10:20sake not talent but for injury sake going forward I don't know how anyone if he puts a brace on

10:37NBA player he looks like Brandon Ingram Cole Lanky and he doesn't look like he doesn't look like a
10:47football player and again he is exceptionally talented but I have questions about his mental
10:53ability and now his physical ability what's the mental ability question all the stuff with the mother
11:00that we talked about that's a concern I disagree with that I let me just say that it is true

11:18the worst feelings I've had as a sports fan in a long time seriously I just felt so like you've

11:35electrifying version absolutely leading up to that um look the truth is that it hold on for a second
11:44the truth is that the narrative that he was injury prone was incorrect because he hadn't been injury
11:54prone until last year but it doesn't mean that the projection that he was going to be injury prone
12:00was definitely incorrect because that that was still possible uh the frame was a concern the irony
12:07actually is it has nothing to do with the frame and the shots he takes and the I mean he
12:13got hurt
12:14tripping over his offensive linemen and trying to keep his balance with his off arm and his elbow
12:21dislocated we're not talking about this guy in the concussion tent over and over again with you know
12:28knees and shoulders and this and that because he's taking a beating that's not really what's happened
12:34but it is true now that it's it's in play that this guy could be one of these guys that
12:45just can't
12:45stay healthy by the way Joe Burrow can't stay healthy all the time he doesn't get anywhere near
12:51the publicity that Jaden does because of last year um but Joe Burrows missed half of his career
12:58because of injuries so this happens in football it happens at the position but you're not wrong
13:04about you know it's not just invested in him it's invested in what this team could be with him and
13:12I
13:12don't see this team being what I would hope the team what I hope the team would be without him

13:21kind of envisioning this up and down uh of the next you know because they're going to sign him by
13:28the
13:28way guys he's going to get a long-term contract you don't come across these kinds of talents very
13:33often he's going to end up getting a contract will it be what it may have been you know prior
13:40to last
13:40year and this year maybe whatever's in store maybe not but he's going to get he's going to get a
13:46big
13:47contract you just don't have guys like him uh that fall out of trees I mean he's very very rare
13:55in his
13:55elite level talent but yeah um part of that's true in terms of the mental thing I completely
14:02I completely disagree with you on that um there's nothing that says that he's mentally fragile
14:07uh because of his mother nothing can I rebut some of these points sure quickly though because people
14:16really do get get sick hearing you after a while me too but more so you so I agree with

14:25Burrow Lamar Jackson are injury prone and they did not have injury history prior but they don't
14:31look like Jane Daniels does Jane Daniels looks like a player that will get hurt and you're got it
