05:30depth that we had with the russian chase on he got banged up but you still got charles from uh
05:35carrying the city that we got so you know we could then maybe do louvoo as the outside and
05:42drop people down so i i don't feel destroyed or think that right what about allegretti though
05:49what about potentially that's that's that's a big deal right there um right i think allegretti
05:54i think they need to make a decision quick they need to find out what it is what that's wrong

07:24objective perspective he hasn't been what we expected uh he's more of a depth piece we lose depth
07:30but it didn't crush me the the threat of potentially having an issue with allegretti here with him leaving
07:35practice yesterday just you know one day after he just got back to me that's bigger news that's more
07:41scary and the preponderance of injuries here that are slowly starting to pile up now we don't know how
07:46serious they are are they just kind of like code for uh veteran rest days or are they real injuries
07:53if the real little knick-knack injuries are ready i'm starting to get nervous

08:05somebody's not on the field or we see them leave or the fan clinches as an update i think we're

08:10know the first thought is oh boy how bad is it i think last year gave a lot of us

08:15it was just every day like somebody had this catastrophic injury um and i'm with you though
08:20in terms of like the allegretti versus newton no disrespect to newton and you know i i said at
08:25some point during camp that it says kind of a lot about where johnny newton is that here's a guy

08:29was the 36th pick in the draft a couple years ago and none of us are discussing about it you

08:34how he's looking is this a make or break here whatever so it's a loss but it's not the biggest
08:39deal allegretti is a bigger deal because not only is he the projected starting center but we've seen that
08:44the depth behind that is very very thin right and if he would have missed time on top of no
08:49tonsil is a problem uh without question now uh in terms of the injuries and this is actually
08:55something i'm going to hopefully have dan quinn in about half an hour is like what um is it fair
09:02to say that the training staff have taken on a more conservative approach when it comes to dealing
09:07with some of these injuries and perhaps again last year they may be to change their two a little bit
09:12but it does feel like guys are being kept out perhaps a bit longer than you know this is not
09:19the rub some dirt on it era and go play and they are trying to like keep guys you know
09:24as fresh as
09:24possible or you know not turn a one-day issue into a week-long issue and so maybe that is
09:30what is
09:30happening um in some cases but uh yeah it's it's the injuries are there all all teams around the nfl
09:36are it looks like they're getting hit with injuries that's part of the deal but hopefully none of them
09:40are too too bad but newton is obviously one where yeah it's probably going to be um not have to

09:45without it for much of the whole year all right so what's your instinct on five playing this week
09:50we had i know you know we had uh dan uh on with us uh but i doubt you could

09:57when i when we asked him directly he really kind of indicated and made the case for how important
10:03preseason is just you know especially for a guy you know didn't play full season last year
10:09just to go through the rhythm of you know preparing for the game to get out there that
10:13whole thing he made that case which made me think wow they're gonna they're gonna play jayden this
10:17week which may be not unexpected but it seems like to me from afar preseason has become more about just
10:24the backups and preserving your guys than it is like what real value do you really get out of two
10:29series i don't see it but okay i'm just a dummy um he now though i'm getting the sense because
10:36of all
10:36these injuries seems like time is leaning seems like your buddy jp finley our buddy is leaning
10:42towards jayden not playing because of all of these injuries where do you stand on it yeah i think
10:49that's probably where i'm at i mean look all these football people if you said hey all things being
10:54equal do you want these guys to play they wouldn't say they should play a series or two they'd be

10:58yeah go play the whole half maybe longer right i mean the only way to get better at football is

11:03play football and yeah when you have two new coordinators you know and you've got you know
11:07just looking at the offense right stephan diggs who looks in really really good in practice but
11:12you know he just got here relatively recently he still hasn't played in any kind of real game with
11:16with jayden daniels or anyone else you'd like to maybe get him out there you do have you know
11:21brandon coleman of course did play last week but he didn't play with um just still kate daniels so
11:27you'd like to have all these guys out there to get some rhythm and so on and so on um
11:30but
11:32to your point does anybody is it really going to matter that much kate daniels goes out and plays
11:37five plays six plays and then that's it is it worth the risk of him possibly look mariotta got
11:43hurt last week on the first drive it's not like it can't happen uh and so and then the fact
11:48that
11:48you don't like the quarterback situation like i i get really caught up in like i don't know if the
11:54qb3 is minutia but to me i get caught up in this stuff because it just makes no sense with

11:59disrespect to say sam harvin why he was here as one of the four guys as opposed to bringing in
12:04another jeff driscoll or josh johnson type because even if it's just for the preseason right
12:09who's playing the last preseason game who's going to give your players the best opportunity
12:14to show you what they have it's not going to be a guy who last year you didn't trust to
12:19even be the
12:19backup quarterback in week 17 and 18 right it's not the seventh round pick to whatever promise
12:24cali manda has it's not today but they didn't do that now they're in this pickle of or who's even
12:30the backup so you throw jayden out there i mean you know god forbid something happens he's the
12:35who's playing against the eagles so um i i do wonder if they're going to sit him and it's not
12:41if no allegretti i can easily see them saying yeah we're going to have to just play with it
12:45you can do the practice of the bravens and that'll be about it hey ben i want to live in
12:49a world where
12:50rashad white is going to miss this weekend because he slipped during the als ice bucket challenge but
12:55it seems like it's the more boring garden variety he dinged his hamstring in the joint practice
13:01with the dolphins so i i guess you're ready to debunk this whole als ice bucket challenge uh video
13:07that's gone viral yeah um you know when i saw somebody said to me is this the new ryan fitzpatrick
13:15on the water slide uh bit um and you could see him slip but but no i mean you know

13:23could be lying to me and all of us who knows but no i mean the understanding is that he
13:26got hurt
13:26in the preseason game i i didn't know what the actual injury was but i had been told earlier
13:31yesterday that it's not a big deal they're just being cautious and you know okay i heard similar
13:36things about like tim settled he was out a week but okay even still right it's not necessarily the
13:40end of the world so no i don't believe that it's a injury happened in the usual practice uh the
13:46joint practice kind of way and um you know they decided to hold him out like i said i think
13:49the
13:49strength staff is just being overly conservative with guys um and that may be fine i'm not saying
13:55it's a good or bad thing so no unfortunately for the fun of it all uh you know the rain

14:00it did no he did not get hurt in the ice bucket challenge that was a nice gesture they all

14:32first preseason game i would say more probably yes like now the more could be uh mikey sanders
14:41still or frankie lou perhaps but again you look at the injury situation right look at the defensive
14:45line you know with newton out settle he could be back possibly today or or you know early next week
14:54it sounds like dan quinn said he was progressing but he's probably not going to play and you know
14:59you've got to wonder who's a little bit where he's at so if you throw deron pain and javon kinlaw
15:02out there for a series it's sort of the same deal jay dan daniels is it worth the risk i'd

15:07those two guys cases they have been very um disruptive in practice in the best of ways uh so i

15:12really especially if deron pain like does he really need to be out there other than just like for
