00:00What did you make of this Kayshawn Booty situation?
00:04Yeah, not surprised that he ended up getting dealt.
00:07My understanding was they weren't aggressively shopping him,
00:10but he was available for weeks, months.
00:14He had reportedly requested a trade.
00:17He had been pretty open about the fact that he wanted whatever was best for him
00:21to happen to him this offseason.
00:23So he was obviously open to being moved,
00:25and the Patriots were open to moving him.
00:27They also, it was my understanding, they were open to,
00:29if they didn't get an offer for the guy,
00:31they were open to keeping seven receivers,
00:33and they felt like there was value in that.
00:36And there was value in him because he had showed last year
00:38that he could be productive in a Josh McDaniels offense
00:41and that obviously over the course of the last couple of years,
00:44he had developed a relationship and established real trust on behalf of Drake May.
00:51And so there was real value in that with him.
00:54So they weren't just going to give him away.
00:55I think a lot of Patriots fans probably look at the return and say,
00:58you kind of gave him away.
01:00But for them, this was good enough in order to say goodbye
01:04because they feel like they've got good depth there,
01:06and he really wasn't in their long-term plans.
01:09He's in the last year of his rookie contract,
01:11and given what they have at the position,
01:12what they will have at the position moving forward,
01:14they didn't view him as part of their team for a long period of time here.
