00:00Greg Bedard there with, did he finish with the draft as a complete crapshoot?
00:05Yeah.
00:07Yeah.
00:08Well, that part I agree with.
00:10Yeah.
00:11Which is why I would tell you, Greg Bedard, let me have a sports debate here without you being here.
00:17Well, that's why I'm not trading up to go get the offensive weapon in the draft.
00:20No, thank you.
00:21No, thank you.
00:22A diminishing A.J. Brown, which I agree with him on.
00:26And I know a lot of people are really excited about A.J. Brown, and you know I believe they
00:29should go get him.
00:30But a diminishing A.J. Brown is a better option than trying to find the next guy in the draft.
00:35For the year and now, for 2026 and for 2027, you will get a better return on A.J. Brown
00:42than what you will get on drafting a guy.
00:44That is my opinion.
00:45I would tell you that you'd get a longer return on drafting a guy and hitting on the pick.
00:49You would get maybe four or five years or more if you sign the player by drafting a guy.
00:55So, it's a short-term play versus long-term play, if you ask me.
00:59And for the sake of the argument, I will tell you that they hit on the pick and they get
01:02a guy who can help the team.
01:04They can get a James Higgins, McCone, to help you understand that.
01:08Instead of a year, yeah.
01:08Yeah, they could draft their James Higgins.
01:10You already beat this route.
01:11Guy who can help score and score points.
01:13You've already gone this route.
01:14You did it with Nikhil Harry.
01:15His draft.
01:17Like, you say, go get a guy that's like A.J. Brown.
01:20Nikhil Harry looks everything like A.J. Brown.
01:22Same size, same cut.
01:25A.J. Brown went in the draft after him.
01:27You know this guy can play.
01:29I don't know that pick 17 or 21 or moving up to 22 is going to make sure that the
01:34kid can play.
01:35You know this guy can play.
01:35You can play.
01:36You can play.
