01:25I saw a really big crucifix in my house with Jesus nailed to it.
01:30I knew that He was the Son of God, but I had no idea what Jesus had done for me.
01:35And because of that, I didn't know that I could have a relationship with Him.
01:39I didn't know that He loved me, or what that price He paid on the cross for me meant.
01:44All of this was because I grew up in a very abusive home.
01:49My parents were alcoholics, my mother was also diabetic, and because of the lifestyle she led, when I was born,
01:55the doctors said I only had a 3% chance of surviving.
01:59And to give you an idea, I was born with a hernia and with only one kidney.
02:05Unfortunately, my mother passed away when I was 4 years old.
02:08Because of her lifestyle, and when she died, she had a neighbor downstairs,
02:12who my father would leave me with when my mother went to the hospital.
02:16And this neighbor ended up moving into our house.
02:20And I didn't understand anything that was happening at that time.
02:23I remember my father sitting me down and saying,
02:26Look, she's going to live with us, okay?
02:28I remember that she had a son from another marriage who also came to live with us.
02:32And my father asked me that day,

07:55I had a cousin who helped me take care of her while I worked.
07:59And this cousin started to notice that my stepmother was trying to take control of my daughter.
08:05She would say to me, let me take care of the child and you go clean the house.
08:10So my cousin called me and said, look, I noticed that your stepmother doesn't want me to take care of
08:17your daughter,
08:18but you're paying me for this.
08:19So I don't think that's right.
08:21And she kept saying, she gives your daughter some strange things to eat, and I don't like that.

15:19And he told me that I couldn't keep reading the cards for you, because God wants to speak to you.
15:25And I thought, what do you mean?
15:27How do you know God if you're a witch?
15:30That didn't make any sense to me.
15:32And I remember that behind me, there was a purple curtain.
15:35She stood up and said, come here, let me show you something.

20:08And something inside me was saying, I can't go to God if I have these things.

20:20And the only thing that came to my mind was, I'm going to the nearest church and I'm going to
20:24throw all of this away.
20:26Because I don't want it anymore.
20:28Actually, I want to get to know this God.
20:30And I remember that I took everything and near where I lived, there was a Catholic church.
20:36I entered the church, which was empty.
20:38I ran to the altar, I threw everything there and I said, God, I want you.
20:43I don't know what to do, but I need you.
20:47So, I left everything there, never looked back and I called my friend and said, okay, I'll go to your
20:53church with you today.
20:56Brothers, I went to that church event and I finally accepted Christ.
21:00I didn't know what I was doing, I didn't know what it meant.
21:03I listened to the sermon, I saw the event and then the pastor gave the altar call and I went.
21:09But I never went back.
21:11I kept living my lifestyle.
21:13I didn't practice witchcraft anymore, but I started living a very promiscuous life.
21:17I didn't know what love was, so I confused intimacy with love.
21:22I lost my job and things started to go from bad to worse.
21:26Instead of getting better, now I was out of money.
21:29I didn't use it wisely and my car was breaking down again.
21:33Thank God that same friend called me a year later and she said, hey, we're having another event at church.
21:40Do you want to come with me?
21:42And I thought, man, I need to go, I need help.
21:46So I went to the event again and I accepted Christ again.
21:50But this time it was something different.
21:52I had always had back pain for at least four years.
21:56I went to the doctors and since I only have one kidney, I thought my kidneys were failing.
22:01But the doctors would say, no, you're fine.
22:04And I never understood why that pain was so strong.
22:07And on that day when I accepted Christ for the second time brothers, something supernatural was taken from me.
22:14I felt a weight being lifted.
22:16I didn't know what had happened.
22:17I just knew that something left me.
22:20And because of that experience, I decided to come back.
22:23I started going to church week after week.
22:27And I remember that on one of those weekends, we had a guest preacher.
22:31And he came up to me and he said, you know that back pain you used to have?
22:36God told me that he just healed you.
22:38Brothers, it hadn't sunk in for me until he gave me that word.
22:42And I started to reflect and I thought, my God, it's true.
22:47Rook, I don't have that back pain anymore.
22:49And from that experience on, I kept going to church.
22:52After eight months, I got baptized.
22:55But I didn't know the process I would have to go through after baptism.
22:59I remember that an hour after being baptized, we started worshiping the Lord at that retreat.
23:04And I had worshipped God before and nothing strange had happened.
23:09But after my baptism, something started to manifest inside me while I was worshipping.
23:15I started coughing nonstop.
23:17I felt like I couldn't breathe.
23:19And I even brought my own hands to my throat as if I wanted to choke myself to the point
23:25of falling to the ground.
23:26Until, one of the guest preachers to whom God revealed what was happening said to the people around him,
23:32My God, she practiced witchcraft in the past.
23:36That's what's happening.
23:37Brothers, those spirits, they didn't want me to worship the Lord.
23:41I remember they took me to a room in the back and asked me if I had practiced witchcraft.
23:47And of course, I had to confess that I had.
23:50So, they helped me with the deliverance there.
23:52But that wasn't the only one.
23:54I had to go through several deliverances, also from the fornication I practiced, from all the strongholds I had, especially
24:01in my mind.
24:03I also remember that I struggled a lot with masturbation and pornography.
24:07Look, it was a constant process, every weekend.
24:10It was deliverance, deliverance, deliverance.
24:13And I thought, my God!
24:15And during this process, it was hard for me, because I kept falling into fornication.
24:20I didn't give up pornography.
24:22I would stay up until dawn, watching porn sites.
24:26And even while God was working in me, I couldn't give up sex outside of marriage, because I felt like
24:32that was love.
24:33I had things confused.
24:35And of course, God was very merciful.
24:38He had to put me on the right path.
24:40It was a very long healing process.
24:42The Lord also revealed to me that I had a lot of forgiveness to extend because of my past.
24:47I had to forgive my stepmother.
24:49And that was one of the hardest things I had to do, because I just didn't understand.
24:54I said to God, why God?
24:56If she was the one who hurt me, do I have to ask her for forgiveness?
25:00And the Lord said to me, because you held on to so much anger that it became a stronghold.
25:06You need to ask her for forgiveness for all the anger you held inside.
25:11And look brothers, I was really afraid of her, you know?
25:14I hadn't spoken to her since the day I left home.
25:16But I said, okay Lord, if you want me to do this, then you'll have to do it.
25:21Because I can't get close to that woman.
25:24And I left it at that.
25:25I didn't talk much with my father.
25:27Maybe I'd call him on his birthday or at Christmas.
25:30And I remember that one day we were going out.
25:33And I went to the house where he lived with my stepmother.

26:02Brothers, it was strange how that conversation came up.

26:09I know it was wrong.
26:11And I replied to her, no, no.
26:13God told me that I was the one who needed to ask you for forgiveness.
26:16Because I hated you for so long.
26:19I held so much anger against you and I apologize for that.
26:23At that moment, brothers, the two of us cried and hugged each other.
26:27And I received the healing of forgiveness that I needed so much.
26:30I no longer saw her as a bad person, but as a victim.
26:34Someone who also needed freedom, needed deliverance.
26:37And then the Lord kept working in me and told me that I had to go back to studying.
26:43That was a desire I always had since I was a child to go to college to have a career.
26:49But obviously I couldn't because my grades were terrible.
26:53My grammar was horrible because I couldn't do my homework.
26:56I didn't even know how to use punctuation.
26:58And I said, God, how am I going to get into college like this?
27:02This is ridiculous.
27:04And I remember, brothers, that I applied and I didn't pass.
27:07Because I failed the grammar part.
27:09So I waited another year and tried again.
27:12And I had to ask my daughter for help.
27:15It was a humbling experience.
27:16But with her help, I managed to pass.
27:19I was accepted into college.
27:21And God was very good to me during that time.
27:24He gave my professors grace toward me.
27:26They were very understanding.
27:28And today, for the glory of God, I have my bachelor's degree.
27:32I give all the glory to the Lord, because it was he who restored that desire in me.
27:37The Lord also told me that he would bring my father back.
27:40And I thought, what?
27:41My father?
27:42Brothers, he had been married to that woman for 35 years.
27:47I didn't know what God was going to do or why he would bring my father back.
27:52So I said to God, look Lord, my childhood years are already gone.
27:56I can't have them back.
27:58But the Lord told me, he also needs freedom.
28:01I will set him free and he will come to you.
28:05Sometime later, my father called me.
28:07Hi sweetheart, do you want to go out to eat?
28:10And I said yes.
28:10So we went to a restaurant.
28:13We sat down and he said, I have a question for you.
28:16But I just want you to answer me with yes or no.
28:21And I agreed.
28:22And he mentioned my stepmother by name and asked, did this person abuse you?
28:28And I answered with tears in my eyes.
28:30Dad, she abused me a lot.
28:32And I couldn't even believe that I had said that to my father.
28:36And we dropped the subject.
28:38We ate.
28:38It was kind of strange and I went back home.
28:41Two days later, he calls me and tells me that he had a dream.
28:45And in the dream, he asked God like this, why doesn't my own daughter love me?
28:51And in the dream, he told me that Jesus then appeared to him and said, the gazer you see
28:57is not who she really is.
29:00And then Jesus showed him two gazers.
29:03The first was the gazer who had been abused, being mistreated by her stepmother.
29:07And the second gazer was the one who truly loves you.
29:11After he had that dream, that's when he invited me out to eat and asked me that question.
29:16He was already having problems with her.
29:18And I think God was already working in him for this deliverance.
29:22And after that conversation, he asked me if he could live with me.
29:26And of course, I was excited and I said yes.
29:29I knew it was God's promise being fulfilled to set him free and bring him back.
29:34It's been three years now, brothers, that I've been living with my father.
29:38I'll never be able to get those lost years back, but I confess, the moments I have with him now...
29:45He's learning about Jesus, he watches me, we talk about everything, there are no more secrets.
29:50And I know that the Lord is working and giving me back this relationship with my father.
29:57And the last area where the Lord decided to work was in me.
30:01Looking back, I'm amazed at how the Lord made me forgive all those people before working in me.
30:08Before this inner healing happens, I was going through many battles in my church.
30:12I had already been there for nine years, but there was a time when I didn't want to submit anymore.
30:18I didn't want to submit to my leaders, especially to my pastor.
30:22And the reason was that a pastor is a figure of authority.
30:26And in my mind, the figure of authority had been abused by my stepmother.
30:31So, in my way of thinking, I couldn't get close to my pastor, because I felt that she would abuse
30:37me.
30:37That she would misuse that authority, just like my stepmother did.
30:42And I always wished that my pastor could be like a mother to me, but I just couldn't.
30:46It was a huge internal struggle.
30:48So, I decided to leave.
30:50And I thought, you know what? I'm going to another church.
30:53I can't take it here anymore.
30:55And so, I started attending another church for about six or seven months.
30:59And there, there was a guest preacher.
31:01And this man spoke to me like no prophet had ever spoken before.
31:06He talked about my life since birth and revealed to me why I had been abused all those years.
31:12Brothers, it was a generational curse.
31:15My mother was abused, her mother was abused, my great-grandmother was abused, and my father was abused.
31:21And this curse reached me and stopped here.
31:25And if you look back, if you remember what I said,
31:27It wanted to continue through my daughter, but the Lord did not allow it.
31:32That day, I learned that abuse was a generational curse.
31:36And the Lord told me that from that day on, I would never be the same.
31:40That I would love myself, forgive myself, and see myself as Jesus sees me.
31:45Something I had absolutely no clue about.
31:47That prophet also told me that God revealed to him that I was planted in my former church.
31:53That I should keep walking and receive the blessings the Lord had for me.
31:58I had to keep growing where he planted me.
32:01And he told me this.
32:03So you will go back, you will submit to that authority.
32:06And when you submit to the authority that God placed in your life, then you will see doors opening for
32:12you.
32:13Brothers, I remember that he anointed me, he blessed me, and he said this.
32:18You need to go back, there is no other way.
32:21And for the first time brothers, I failed conviction.
32:24I thought, it's true, I'm wrong, I need to change my life.
32:28And I confessed that I struggled a little with my thoughts.
32:32But I knew that I had to submit.
32:34That I had to put that fear aside.
32:36And when I came back, I faced the fear I had that anyone with authority would abuse me.
32:42Brothers, the Lord sent me back to my church and I was able to talk to my pastor and tell
32:47her why I was that way.
32:49Today, I have a wonderful relationship with her.
32:52She is the mother figure I never had.
32:54And I thank God because I see how the enemy didn't want me to see her as a mother.
33:00Now, I feel complete.
33:02I have my father and I also have my pastor who is my spiritual mother.
33:07Thanks to that, I am able to love myself too.
33:10I forgave myself for everything I did to myself during those years.
33:14For all the abuse I allowed.
33:16All the negative thoughts.
33:17I didn't know that I had an identity in Jesus.
33:21And when the Lord set me free from that mindset, which were attacks from the enemy in my mind all
33:25those years,
33:26then everything started to change.
33:28And the day after that deliverance, I woke up and when I put my feet on the floor,
33:33it was like I was in a new body.
33:36I wasn't the old gazer.
33:38I was a new gazer.
33:39I looked at myself in the mirror and I thought, wow, I am beautiful.
33:44I am loved.
33:45I am capable.
33:46I saw myself with this new identity, you know.
33:49Since that day, I've been able to love myself.
33:52And now that I love myself, I can love others.
33:55Because when I didn't love myself, I was very bitter, even though I was in the faith and walking with
34:00God.
34:00I didn't understand why some people seemed so happy and I wasn't.
34:05Of course, God was still working in me, but something still wasn't right.
34:09And it was because I didn't love myself.
34:12And that's why I couldn't love others.
34:13Now that I'm able to love myself, my perspective has changed.
34:17My heart has opened to love people the way Jesus loves them.
34:21And for me, Jesus is my best friend.
34:24He is my redeemer, my savior.
34:26He came to redeem everything and to save me from myself.
34:30And for you who are listening to me now and are feeling discouraged,
34:33who relate to my story of abuse or even with my relationship with God,
34:37maybe you're in that place right now, not wanting anything to do with him.
34:41I know it's hard to look to Jesus as savior at this moment.
34:45I know you might be angry, like I once was, or feel unloved and unwanted,
34:51or questioning why your life is like this.
34:53But the only answer I can give you is Jesus of Nazareth.
34:58The only way is Christ.
35:00That's why he died for us, so that we could have life, joy, peace and redemption through him.
35:08It may take time, but if you call out to Jesus, even if it's a simple prayer, he will meet
35:14you where you are.
35:15He will come to you because Jesus came to me.
35:19I confess, I didn't go to him, I didn't want to go to him, but that one simple prayer was
35:25enough and then he found me.
35:27So, I encourage you not to lose hope and to look to Jesus.
35:32He is your friend, your father, your redeemer, and he is love.
35:37You can trust him, he loves you very much, so don't give up.
35:41It's time for you to be free and to be healed.
35:44This is the life he has for you, a new life.
35:48So, stop letting the pain linger when God has already given you the opportunity for healing through Jesus Christ.
