00:00Look brothers, I confess to you, my heart broke when I watched this video I'm about to show you.
00:06It's a sad testimony, actually, it's a sad story.
00:10And we start to ask ourselves how far a human being can go.
00:15Brothers, man already has an evil nature because of sin, but when he gives an opening to the enemy,
00:21look, the enemy causes such great destruction.
00:24But I'm going to show you that in this story, there's a very important lesson for both you and me.
00:30That's why I want you to stay until the end, especially because the ending will explain everything in the video.
00:36So it's very important that you watch it with me.
00:39I want to talk about some very important truths that apply to me first and also to you, alright?
00:45All of us are susceptible to what I'm going to show you in this video, alright?
00:49So watch with me, it's a video of MaĂsa Ribeiro, a woman who preaches, a pastor.
00:55She has a channel here on YouTube and I'm sure you'll be amazed.
00:59With this story here, pay attention, pay close attention.
01:04I'm going to tell you a story.
01:0820 years ago, I served on a conference board.
01:13And I heard one of the creepiest stories I've ever heard in my life.
01:17And maybe some of you have already heard this story among yourselves.
01:21And if you've already heard it, you'll remember this story with me and it will hurt.
01:25On a certain occasion in a church somewhere in Brazil,
01:30a young girl asked for permission to speak up front into a microphone.
01:35She had been attending the church for about a year, maybe a little more.
01:39And she took the microphone from the lady who was finishing Sabbath school and said,
01:44I have to tell you all about my sin.
01:48And people were frozen watching her speak.
01:51And she said, I want to tell you all.
01:54The pastor was there at the church at that moment, getting ready, fixing something.
01:59The pastor's wife was there with their two children, more to the left side, to my left.
02:04And the whole church was there together.
02:06You know that between Sabbath school and the service, the church gets really full.
02:10And she said, I have to confess my sin to you.
02:13And the sin I have to confess is that I am the pastor's mistress.
02:18Look at this, miss.
02:20The moment she said that, the pastor's wife fainted right then and there.
02:23And the children ran to help.
02:26And the pastor came to her and said, what are you saying?
02:28Have you lost your mind?
02:31What's this girl?
02:32She said, I had to tell.
02:33I need to solve my problem.
02:35I need to save your soul.
02:37I need to fix you.
02:39The Danites, they always use that.
02:40Be careful.
02:42I need to help.
02:44They always use the word help.
02:46You see?
02:48And at that moment, the whole church was in an uproar.
02:51I don't need to say that there was no service.
02:53There was no service.
02:53They couldn't hold the service.
02:55The pastor's wife was taken from there.
02:57She was taken outside.
02:58The pastor didn't know what to do.
03:00He started saying, brothers, please.
03:02This is a big misunderstanding.
03:03She said, no, it isn't, honey.
03:05I needed to say, I have to save you.
03:08And I have to save myself.
03:09And she was taken to a little room.
03:11The pastor's wife went after her and started talking to her.
03:14And she spoke with her.
03:15And there was a big commotion.
03:17And she said, look, I'm going to prove to you that this is true.
03:21Let's agree that no one would ever know.
03:23It was something very well done.
03:25But I need to tell you.
03:27And she told the pastor's wife.
03:29Pay close attention to what I'm going to say.
03:31She said, there's only one way for you to believe me.
03:35Come here.
03:35Your husband has a mark on his genitals.
03:38And the mark is like this, like this, and like this.
03:42And the wife looked at her and believed her right away.
03:45Do you know why?
03:46Because that pastor had never had sexual contact with anyone, only with his wife.
03:51They got married as virgins.
03:53And she said, nobody knows that.
03:55How does this girl know?
03:57Can you imagine what that is?
03:59And she had also never told that to anyone.
04:02And she won the pastor's wife over.
04:04The pastor's wife started to believe her.
04:06And she told details about the pastor's body.
04:10Details about him.
04:12Even things he said while he was sleeping.
04:14Pay attention.
04:15I don't need to tell you that that marriage ended.
04:18The entire church of that pastor went into a state of ruin that you can't even imagine.
04:25A word, as James says, can ruin a person's life forever.
04:30Do you know how many years have passed since that story?
04:33I didn't find out until much later.
04:35It was only 20 years later that I found out.
04:37It had already been 20 years since that had happened.
04:42Why did I find out about this story?
04:44It was at a table, in a committee, at a conference.
04:47The president called us one day and said the following.
04:51Brothers, I need your help and prayers for something.
04:55What is it?
04:5620 years ago, that whole thing with the pastor happened.
04:59And he told us the whole story.
05:01It was in such and such a church.
05:03And we took away that pastor's credentials.
05:06And that pastor went to a farm and stayed alone.
05:09His wife remarried, has other children.
05:12She's living her own life.
05:13But I was called.
05:15Look, the president is telling us.
05:17I was called.
05:18A few days ago, at the house of a lady with completely white hair, dying of cancer.
05:26And this woman, dying of cancer, begged for a minute to talk to the pastor.
05:30But it had to be the president of the Adventist church.
05:35And I went there because I am the president.
05:38When I got there, the woman told me that she was the girl who had said that about the pastor.
05:45The mistress, the supposed mistress of the pastor.
05:51And she told the president that she had made up this whole story.
05:57But how did she know the details about the pastor's party?
06:02At the time when she had fallen in love with the pastor, she was working as a cleaning lady in
06:09the hospital.
06:09And the pastor was admitted, pay attention, admitted for an appendix surgery.
06:17And he got really sick.
06:20And she was friends with the nurse.
06:24And she went into the room with the nurse and covered the pastor's body and looked at his whole body
06:30while the pastor was in a coma in the hospital.
06:34And when the pastor said some things, she heard what the pastor said.
06:39And she looked at the details of the pastor's body and remembered them.
06:44Satan planted it in her mind and she made it up and ruined the pastor's life.
06:49And the president took a credential.
06:52He went to the little place where the pastor, that poor pastor, the one who had been slandered, was.
06:59And he came to him and said, together with a group of brothers,
07:02Pastor, I came here to give you the ministerial credentials back.
07:06We found out it was a lie.
07:08Do you know what the pastor's answer was, brother?
07:10The pastor said, are you going to give me my family and my children back too?
07:18Are you going to give me my reputation back?
07:21If you don't give them back too, I'd rather stay here.
07:24And that pastor, a few days ago, I heard that he died there in that place.
07:30Who was the murderer of that pastor?
07:33It wasn't just that woman.
07:35It was everyone who joined in.
07:37Because guys, when this kind of hell breaks loose, a crowd of people suffers.
07:43A crowd of people gets hurt.
07:45They end up hurt.
07:47My brothers, please forgive me for having to talk about this.
07:50But it's true.
07:53There are many places where I'm very afraid to preach.
07:56But I still go if they call me.
07:59Because I'm going to tell you something.
08:01Last night I mentioned that the life of someone who preaches these truths is seriously harmed.
08:09Something this big is spread by word of mouth.
08:12In such a way that it turns into hell in the end.
08:16Do you think there are Danites among us?
08:20Heaven is such a wonderful place.
08:23It's not worth it, my brothers.
08:26It's not worth it.
08:28God wants more for our lives.
08:31And you, hurry.
08:33Things to occupy our minds.
08:35To become part of our vocabulary.
08:37For us to think about people.
08:40Shall we do the next advice?
08:42Think well of the person you know the worst about.
08:46Imagine that now.
08:49Do you know what's going to happen to you?
08:52Your heart will be filled with peace.
08:55Because that's what happens, guys.
08:58If you are not able to open your mouth to bring peace into someone's life.
09:03Don't open your mouth to bring hell into anyone's life.
09:07Jesus loves sinful and miserable people.
09:10All those who have sinned and died, Jesus truly loves.
09:15And he has more to offer us.
09:18I'm going to ask one thing in the name of Jesus this morning.
09:22Something that is very hard to do.
09:25But if someone in the name of Jesus has said something about someone else.
09:29Even if it's true.
09:33And hasn't asked for forgiveness.
09:35Ask God for forgiveness now.
09:36And hurry to ask the person for forgiveness.
09:40Brothers, look.
09:42I don't know about you, but I was impacted by this message.
09:46Because it seems like this message is so relevant today, brothers.
09:50We need it more than ever.
09:53Sometimes we need to keep our mouths shut and stay quiet.
09:56And let things work themselves out.
09:58Put it in God's hands.
10:00Look, brothers.
10:00The tongue is dangerous.
10:02The Bible says in the book of James.
10:04Chapter 3.
10:05You can read it later at home.
10:08It starts by saying that we all stumble in many ways.
10:11But the one who controls their tongue is a mature person.
10:15Someone who truly pleases the Lord.
10:18I'm going to show you right now what happens when someone spreads slander like this.
10:23Where does this come from, brothers?
10:25Where does this come from?
10:26I'll show you.
10:27Look.
10:28In the same chapter of James.
10:30Chapter 3.
10:31Verse 6.
10:32Then.
10:33Verses 9 to 11.
10:35Look at what the Bible says.
10:37The tongue is a flame of fire.
10:39It is a world of evil that corrupts the whole body.
10:42It sets a whole life on fire.
10:44For hell itself lights it.
10:47Sometimes it praises the Lord and Father.
10:50And sometimes it curses those whom God created in His image.
10:54And so blessing and cursing come out of the same mouth.
10:57My brothers, this is not right.
11:00Can fresh water and bitter water flow from the same spring?
11:04Brothers, this is the plain truth.
11:06It's hell itself that lights the flame that destroys people's lives.
11:10Through what?
11:11Through the tongues of others.
11:13And unfortunately, through the tongues of Christians.
11:16From the tongues of God's own people.
11:18Look brothers, there are people here on YouTube who create channels, brothers, just to speak
11:24badly about others.
11:25Don't they have anything better to talk about, brothers, like the word of God?
11:29Don't they have any content to share?
11:31Do they just keep staring up controversy by speaking badly about others?
11:35Brothers, we should be careful even about following these pages.
11:38Because that can feed into it, inflame things even more, right?
11:43It can deceive our hearts.
11:45Why?
11:46Look at what the other verse in the Bible says.
11:49Proverbs 18, verse 17.
11:51It says like this.
11:52The first to present his case seems right, until another comes forward and questions him.
12:00In other words, every story has two sides.
12:02Look at this man's story, brother.
12:04This pastor's story.
12:05How sad.
12:06This man was wronged.
12:07He was accused of something he didn't do.
12:10A false accusation.
12:11Brothers, this can land you in jail.
12:13This, brothers, this came straight from hell.
12:16Destroying a family.
12:18What a sad thing.
12:19But let this be a lesson for me and for you.
12:21You know why?
12:22Sometimes we are cruel, brothers.
12:24And I've already learned something.
12:26When we point the finger at someone, many times it's because we want to feel holier.
12:30You understand?
12:31We think we are better than others and we even thank God.
12:35God, thank you that I'm not like that person.
12:38Thank you because I didn't commit that sin.
12:42Brothers, Jesus told the parable about exactly that.
12:45The parable of the tax collector and the Pharisee.
12:48The tax collector was a tax collector in Roman times.
12:51He was considered by society to be the worst kind of person.
12:55Why?
12:56They were really sinners.
12:57They stole from people.
12:59They extorted people.
13:00But the Bible says that when he arrived at the church, at the temple,
13:04he didn't even want to enter the temple and he didn't even want to look up
13:09because he thought, I'm not, I'm not worthy.
13:12And then he repented for what he had done.
13:14And he said, God.
13:15And he beat his chest and said, I'm not worthy to look up because I'm a sinner.
13:20And then Jesus said that the Pharisee came, the religious man,
13:23the one who was used to fasting, who knew the scriptures.
13:26And he went to the middle of the temple.
13:29And he beat his chest and said, thank God, I'm not like that man, like the sinners.
13:35I fast, I pray, I give tithes.
13:39Brothers, and then Jesus said, do you know which of the two was accepted by God?
13:44The publican, that tax collector, because he humbled himself in the presence of the Father.
13:49And he who humbles himself will be exalted.
13:53And he who exalts himself will be humbled.
13:56So brothers, we have to be very careful with slander, you know.
13:59I've seen this a lot among us.
14:01And we have to watch out for this, you know.
14:03The tongue.
14:05Did you get it?
14:06Remember the example of Joseph?
14:08Joseph was the one who was slandered, right?
14:10He was sold as a slave by his brothers when he was 17 years old.
14:13Keep that in mind.
14:14And then he went to live in the house of Potiphar, the man who was second only to Pharaoh.
14:20He was the man who worked for Pharaoh.
14:23And José stayed there working as a servant, right, as a slave,
14:26until Potiphar's wife wanted to sleep with Joseph.
14:29But José didn't want to, because he was a man of God, a man of principles.
14:33And he ran away, but she was left holding his clothes in her hands.
14:38And do you know what happened?
14:40When her husband arrived, she accused Joseph of trying to harass her.
14:44Brothers, that was slander.
14:47In the same way as this young woman here, she went there and saw the pastor in that weakened state,
14:53having surgery, and she, she noticed an opportunity there.
14:57Oops, she saw the pastor's body in a moment of weakness, brothers.
15:01And that was an arrow from the enemy.
15:04And the enemy kept whispering in her mind about when she should tell this secret to others.
15:09Let me tell you something.
15:11Sometimes we find out about things, brothers, that we need to be careful with.
15:15We shouldn't tell anyone.
15:16Don't talk about it with anyone.
15:18Not even with the intention of helping, you know, because we come up with that excuse, right?
15:22No, I'm just telling you so you can pray for so-and-so.
15:26Brothers, that already hides some wickedness in us.
15:28It already hides some religiosity, brothers.
15:31We want to act like saints, brothers.
15:33We are worse than the person who did it.
15:35Because at least that person was exposed for their sin, but ours wasn't.
15:40Brothers, God is watching.
15:41I just want to read one more verse here so you can understand the seriousness.
15:45Did you see that the woman who told that lie, who spread that slander, she paid a high price, right?
15:51Look at how serious this is.
15:52Proverbs 6, verses 16-19.
15:55It says this.
15:56There are six things, six things that the Lord hates, or rather, seven things that he considers detestable.
16:04Arrogant eyes, a lying tongue, hands that kill the innocent, a heart that plots evil, feet that rush to do
16:14evil,
16:15a false witness who speaks lies, and the one who sows discord among brothers.
16:22Look.
16:24I don't want to be on this list here, brothers, of people whose attitudes God hates,
16:29the false witness who tells lies, and the one who sows discord.
16:33Brothers, let me tell you something.
16:36When you hear bad news, when you find out something no one had mentioned to you, pray for that person.
16:43The Bible says this.
16:44Love covers a multitude of sins.
16:47Let me give you an example here.
16:49Imagine someone comes to you and tells you something terrible about someone, and then you show love.
16:54And then you say, how about we pray for that person?
16:57We also have our own flaws, don't we?
17:00Let's pray for them.
17:01Brothers, that's where love is preventing a multitude of sins that could happen, you know?
17:08So, may you have more love in your life.
17:10I'm not pointing fingers at anyone.
17:12I'm speaking to myself first and foremost, because I can't fall into that trap, you know, brothers?
17:17Brothers, we have to be very watchful.
17:20The church is falling into this trap of the devil.
17:22I've been noticing this very clearly, so be very careful, all right?
17:27If you were edified by this video, I ask you now to share it.
17:31Click here on the share button.
17:32I know that many people need to see a story like this, all right?
17:37May God bless you then.
17:39I'll see you in the next video.
17:41Always remember that God is good and His mercies endure forever.
17:44Sending you a big hug.
18:05I'll see you in the next video.
