00:00All operationally active Malaysia Airlines pilots have tested negative for drugs following mandatory screenings across the airline.
00:08Malaysia Aviation Group said the checks were launched after the arrest of a second officer in Indonesia late last month.
00:15MAG added that drug screening for all 2,840 Malaysia Airlines cabin crew members will begin tomorrow.
00:23Checks are also underway at Firefly, involving 158 pilots and 163 cabin crew.
00:30More than half have been screened so far, with all testing negative.
00:35MAG President and Group CEO Nasaruddin A. Bakar stressed that safety remains at the core of every decision made,
00:42adding that random drug testing will continue across the group.
00:46The screening follows the July 29th arrest of a Malaysia Airlines pilot at Sokarno Hata International Airport,
00:53after authorities found 25 kilograms of ecstasy pills and 2.7 grams of methamphetamine.
00:59The pilot reportedly tested positive for methamphetamine, ecstasy and cocaine,
01:04but MAG clarified that he was travelling in the cockpit jump seat and was not part of the crew operating
