00:00The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has recommended that two people be charged in connection with its investigation into allegations of
00:08corruption in a 1.1 billion ringgit investment deal involving UK-based chipmaker Arm Holdings.
00:15MACC Chief Commissioner Azam Baki said the investigation is nearing completion, with statements taken from 22 witnesses, including former Economy
00:24Minister Rafizi Romney and his ex-aid James Chai.
00:27Azam declined to name the two individuals, but confirmed that the MACC had recommended that charges be brought against them.
00:35He also said that two more witnesses were expected to be called, one in Taiwan and another in Malaysia.
00:42Azam said MACC investigators had completed their assessment of possible criminal elements in the case, but a final decision on
00:50prosecution would rest with the Attorney General's chambers.
00:52In March last year, the government committed $225 million to a four-year partnership with Arm Holdings to lower barriers
01:02for Malaysian companies seeking access to its intellectual property and technology.
