00:00Let's get over to the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
00:03Scheffler, 61 on Friday, kind of really set the pace here, didn't it?
00:08I mean, he set the pace for this tournament.
00:10What do you make of the overall tournament?
00:12And Scotty Scheffler with a 61 on Friday was amazing.
00:16I watched that.
00:17It just looked like it was just not – it was so easy for him when he was out there
00:22just looping around.
00:23Your takeaway on the title so far?
00:25I love this tournament, Dan.
00:27And, you know, it's arguably the best 70 players on the PGA Tour,
00:31and you could probably argue that 50 or 60 of them have a good shot to win.
00:36You know, it's a great competition.
00:37The players love this golf course.
00:39I'd really like to check it out one time.
00:41It's really one of the more revered TPC tracks that we see throughout the year.
00:46The players call it a stern test but also very fair.
00:50Not surprising to see Scotty kind of shoot a relatively pedestrian 68 on Saturday
00:56after going so low on Friday.
00:59And I'm a little worried that the same could happen to my guy, Sam Burns.
01:03I'm on Sam Burns to win this week at 24-1.
01:07He shoots 62 on Saturday to put himself right there in contention.
01:11I believe he's paired with his good friend, Scotty Scheffler, today.
01:15Scheffler, of course, starting with a two-shot advantage.
01:18And I hope that Burns has enough in the tank to go low again.
01:22But, you know, that is so hard in the world of golf.
01:26Now, Scotty has not won since January.
01:29He's had a number of runner-up finishes.
01:31I felt yesterday a three-shot lead and forget about it.
01:35A two-shot lead, there's a chance.
01:37Sun J.M. lurking there at 11 under par.
01:40Sam Burns at 11.
01:41And if you go down any deeper, the one guy that could go nuts and maybe shoot a 60 and
01:49put his name, you know, in contention,
01:52maybe sit in the clubhouse with the lead, I think is Tommy Fleetwood.
01:56We know he has that type of round in him.
01:59He's, you know, top five in this field right now for strokes gain tee to green.
02:04But the putter has been very average, if not below average.
02:08So, if all of a sudden he finds a red-hot putter today, Dan, and shoots a 61 or a
02:1460 or something like that,
02:16he could be in the mix.
02:17And this golf tournament, there are more balls put in the water on this course than any other tournament in
02:23the PGA Tour.
02:23So, there are double bogeys lurking.
02:26And even the great Scotty Scheffler might put one in the water and open the door for some guys.
02:32Wow.
02:33More than 17 at the players.
02:35That's crazy to hear that.
02:38Matt Fitzpatrick, his year, he's been like, I found that mistake.
02:41And correct me if I'm wrong, Brady, I think he's number two right now on the points behind Scotty Scheffler
02:46right now.
02:47What do you make of the season that he's had?
02:49You know, he's down there on the leaderboard, but it's kind of, I think he was 19th heading into Sunday's
02:55event here.
02:55You tell me, what kind of year do you think he's had?
02:59Tremendous.
02:59I mean, he's in the conversation for player of the year.
03:02The problem is he's just kind of fallen off here in the latter half of the summer.
03:07You know, he was highly touted for the British Open, did not necessarily show up in a big way there.
03:14I remember I was on him for the U.S. Open, and he looked great through the first two days
03:19and then was just very quiet over the weekend.
03:22And that kind of seemed like the beginning of the end, that hot streak that he was on really all
03:28year.
03:28Won the team event, won the Valspar, won the Heritage, and then, you know, was hot through the first couple
03:35of days of the U.S. Open in mid-June.
03:37And the rest of the summer, it's just been kind of, you know, lukewarm for Matt Fitzpatrick.
03:44I think it's tough for, we saw it happen to Robert McIntyre on day one.
03:49This weather that they're having here in Memphis, Dan, I think it's tough on some of these Europeans.
03:55It'd be tough on anybody.
03:56But these guys from Scotland and whatnot, I mean, it's 100 degrees and there's 60% humidity.
04:02It's rough out there.
04:04And that's why I kind of like Sam Burns, because he's from Louisiana.
04:07He's used to this type of thing.
04:09Scotty Scheffler, not completely unfamiliar with it either from Texas.
