03:22to this episode of the fro wrestling podcast uh we are going to be diving into everything that was

03:28dynamite this is a bittersweet show for me and we want to make sure everybody stays up on what's

03:32going on as they get closer and closer to all in at in london so the show kicked off with

03:38will

03:39osprey in a interview segment which was going just fine and then everything for me went downhill from

03:46here one i do not need don callus involved in anything else in the aew world right now he's got

03:53enough stuff going on he's involved in enough storylines i don't need him a part of this world

03:57championship picture but that is not the case because they have don callus come out and he's

04:01talking some trash all the things he's done for will osprey things he's done for kenny omega in the

04:08past eventually it leads to a beat down by the don callus family which of course brings out kenny

04:14omega to make the save i one i don't know why callus is involved i know there's history there

04:20there's always history once you've been in wrestling for any length of time there's going

04:24to be history all over the place we don't have to rehash it in every single feud that's part one

04:29part two you have three of the don callus family goons come out and attack will osprey

04:35why what is their vested interest in this storyline or this feud or whatever you want to call this

04:41you know they don't have to have their fingerprints on everything so these three guys

04:46and really you make the three of them look terrible because they get a beat down from

04:50kenny omega when he comes out to to make the save and then we get what i thought was

04:56it could have been great but instead it was just meh which is kenny omega cutting a promo on will

05:02osprey about you know you know he faked like he was gonna hit him with and with uh i don't

05:08even

05:09know what that was look like a shillelagh for heaven's sake or like a cane of some kind um look

05:14like he was gonna hit him osprey dropped to the ground to avoid it and then he didn't actually hit

05:18him he cut a whole promo about you know the type of will osprey he wants to face it in

05:22london

05:23helped him to his feet and then osprey responded with something about like i didn't ask for your

05:28help and i didn't need it after kenny told him he wouldn't help him again i mean look we're halfway

05:34through the month we still got like two weeks left till we get to london and i don't know like

05:39it opens the door to a conversation about like don callis's guys attacking him between now and

05:46london and somebody trying to claim that kenny omega set it up somehow because he warned him that

05:52he wasn't going to help him out anymore something stupid like that i don't know it's it's it's one of

05:57those times where i think tony khan overbooks a very simple program they didn't need anything else

06:02just two great guys going into wrestle and leave it at that but whatever from there we get to the

06:08match

06:08is going to determine who gets the casino gauntlet number two entrant of course we open with mjf

06:13coming to the ring wearing the triple b um i didn't like how he was in justin robert's face

06:20choking him and telling him he had to call him the real world or the only world champion or whatever

06:24that that storyline's been played out so many times in wrestling it's it's kind of stale i mean

06:30most recently with uh cm punk in aew so you know i just i'm not a fan of that angle

06:36i don't get it

06:37then again i guess you know what else are you going to do with the triple b now that it's

06:40not

06:40being used by an active champion i'm sure uh mjf will keep that belt whenever you know it goes away

06:46but we go into the match it's mjf taking on nick wayne taking on speedball mike bailey

06:51nick wayne poor kid doesn't even get an entrance he's just in there somehow and um look the match

06:57yeah it was okay it wasn't anything to write home to mom about i could live without it but

07:03at the same time i think it served the purpose it was supposed to it took somebody who has no

07:08chance to win like nick wayne and gave him some screen time it took speedball mike bailey and let

07:14him get in the ring and mix it up with mjf so he could always come back to that later

07:17and of course

07:18mjf was going to win because he's going to get the number two and he and andrade will have an

07:22opportunity to do their thing at the show um the problem i have is is aew sometimes is unpredictable

07:29and this was too predictable um from there we get jay white and david finley and i got two things

07:35for

07:35this one david finley looks amazing he talks the talk he looks he has a great look about him um

07:44and he's much more believable now than when he first entered the business so i really like what

07:49he's doing jay white i've always been a fan of but here's my second response to this is this match

07:55felt slow and seemed like they were wrestling in the mud and plodding along and just it seemed to

08:00take forever um jay white picking up the win and going on to um in the continental cup but i

08:07i felt

08:07like these guys i when they as soon as they started coming out i was like this is going to

08:11be a banger

08:12and it really kind of wasn't there was actually one spot where jay white gave a belly to back suplex

08:18and it looked like he may have hurt his neck or something like that i was like good lord i

08:21mean like

08:22i don't know it just seemed very sloppy seemed very slow there was not a lot of action so a

08:27little

08:27disappointed in that um from there we get an interview segment in the ring with hangman page

08:32brody king and and bandito they are the trio's champion and while they're there swerve strickland's

08:39music hits now this is a key part of the conversation for the whole night may have been the most

08:44important part of the night because swerve when you first see him come out you don't know why he's

08:49there what is his business being involved in this trio's thing and then he tells them

08:53that he's thinking about going for the trio's title if swerve strickland wants to go for the

08:59trio's title who is he pairing with to challenge for said trio's titles and the speculation would be

09:06that he'd be pairing with xavier woods or austin creed and kofi that he would be pairing with the

09:14new day to challenge for the trio's titles upon their entrance to the company i assume possibly

09:21because of this maybe over the next two weeks he says i'm going to be at london and and i'll

09:26be

09:26bringing some partners or whatever and everybody knows right away there's going to be the new day

09:29and maybe that's their big debut is winning the trio's titles with swerve i don't know but it

09:34definitely makes you think now before the whole segment could get over ricochet and the demand come

09:39out bishop khan and toa leona i i like them their look is solid i just feel like they need

09:46to move

09:47on to something else this this angle and i get it it's not like it's been an overwhelmingly long

09:52angle with hangman brody and bandito i just feel like you know ricochet went from the national

09:58championship to the trio's title to having no title so quickly and typically in the past when a wrestler

10:04loses a championship they're a little upset about it so they want to go after it again

10:08he hasn't gone back after the national championship um so and he was doing great as a single star now

10:15he's just in this six-man tag team and i i'm sorry i'm gonna still call it that because that's

10:19why i

10:19feel like it is um so i don't know i i think ricochet could be doing more this is a

10:24guy who was fed up

10:25with wwe because he felt like he wasn't doing anything substantial there and let's be honest in wwe he was

10:30the intercontinental champion he was the united states champion he was the speed champion for whatever

10:35that holds you know he had championship opportunities he had big moments royal rumble with logan paul

10:41things like that he had a great tag team for a little while with braun stroman so it's not like

10:47he

10:47wasn't getting things to do but he was unhappy there but now he goes to aew and what he wants

10:52to be

10:52in a six-man tag team with the demand is that really what he left wwe to do i actually

10:58thought he

10:59was on board when he when he got the national title i thought okay they're they're placating his

11:03need to be a champion or whatever you want to call it but now i feel like he's falling into

11:07this like

11:08i don't know weird space where he's almost irrelevant again so i don't know hope he's happy because you

11:13know it's not like he's just going to turn around go right back to wwe if he's not from there

11:17kevin

11:18knight defending the championship the tbs championship or tnt i apologize tnt championship against chris jericho

11:24and of course we get some don callis interference jericho looked like he was about to win uh don

11:29callis uses the screwdriver the referee gets distracted and we get a low blow from uh from

11:36kevin knight and he ends up picking up the win over chris jericho big win for him in terms of

11:40name

11:41brand recognition with chris jericho um i just i don't know i'd like to have seen him i hate to

11:48say it

11:48because i don't like to see chris jericho lose a ton of matches yet um since this return but i

11:54kind

11:54of wish kevin knight just got a clean win over chris jericho if that makes any sense i really think

11:59it would have helped him a little bit more make him more viable as an opponent for darby allen and

12:04we'll get to that a little bit later from there chris statlander basically mows over viva van i mean

12:10i don't even know why they even had the match then mick foley comes out and lets statlander know that

12:14she along with uh hikaru shida persephone and my world will compete in a four-way for the tbs

12:22championship currently held by my world and um that'll take place i believe that was going to be

12:30at london or is that next week i don't know who cares it's it's another one of those times where

12:35you're not taking a championship off my world this soon so i don't think it's going to matter and then

12:40from there that match announcement we go right into my world and thunder rose in a tag team match

12:44against hikaru shida and persephone so why was thunder rosa in this match instead of going against

12:51viva van and statlander could have teamed up with my world so you had the four competitors in that

12:56match in a tag team match here it makes a lot more sense it doesn't make a whole lot of

13:01sense to me to

13:02have thunder rosa out there and i love seeing thunder rosa she's one of my favorite people but

13:07yeah i don't know it just it seemed like strange booking to me and then at the end of the

13:11match

13:11statlander comes out and celebrates with my world and thunder rosa it's very confusing it doesn't

13:16need to be it's over booking from there darby allen throws out a challenge to kevin knight he wants a

13:22falls count anywhere match obviously for the tbs championship it's another thing i have a problem

13:28with because darby allen was the world champion loses the belt and just gives up on it he just doesn't

13:34want to pursue that anymore i guess he's already moved on to the tbs championship is his goal

13:38to be a grand slam winner is that what we're doing here is that why he wants to do what

13:42he

13:42wants to do it just seems so nonsensical to me um we get another segment that i actually think was

13:51very exciting now i haven't said that a lot on this episode but there are some things that really

13:54really work for me um obviously from the beginning i like the beginning of the osprey stuff

13:59um i expected the mjf stuff um i i love hangman brody and bandito i like that stuff um but

14:07this

14:08was one of my favorite things it's not even a match don callus letting kyle fletcher know that

14:13it will be kyle fletcher kazuchika okada and konosuke tikeshka battling it all in for the um

14:23international championship and what i found so interesting is you know fletcher's concerned

14:28about his odds of retaining the championship okada's kind of tweaking with him telling him

14:33they're going to keep it in the family which didn't sit well fletcher storms off as soon as

14:38cows figures out he goes chasing after him tons of dissension there i love the matchup these three

14:45they're probably going to steal the show i'll be honest with you i really think they might put on

14:49the best match at all in i can't wait this is the first match that's announced for all in

14:54that i literally cannot wait to see this should be phenomenal and the main event of the night saw

15:00john moxley take on jack perry in a continental cup qualifier and technically i guess because the

15:05qualifiers lead to whoever wins the championships i guess technically this match was for the

15:10continental championship because if moxley loses he's out of the tournament so he can't retain the

15:15championship in the tournament so again overbooking a weird situation and neuters their tournament they

15:21have every december so um but doesn't matter in this case john moxley picks up the win as we kind

15:27of would expect and afterwards shaking some hands and being respectful which was is nice to see i

15:32don't know where he falls right now if he's a baby face if he's a heel he's obviously some kind

15:36of tweener um but at the end of the day solid match i don't know why they haven't done more

15:42with

15:42jack perry since signing his new contract since it was very clear from the get-go when he signed

15:47that contract his understanding was he was going to be pushed into a more prominent position and he's

15:51basically been used for fodder since so not a big fan of that um but otherwise decent show again

15:58scale one to five stars i give it maybe three and a half and actually probably not probably three

16:04three star show you know we got a couple weeks till we get to all in london we got some

16:08time to build

16:09some things some stuff i love some stuff baffles me but at the end of the day decent show you

16:15know

16:16this is something i would go out of my way to re-watch again uh not really not the whole

16:20show but

16:20i would definitely go back and watch a couple clips some of that was pretty cool that's all the
