03:01If you've got questions, comments, something you want me to talk about in a future episode,
03:05whatever it is, the best way to let me know is the Fro Wrestling Sound Offline, 267-642-1160.
03:11And I will get to those questions, comments, or whatever it is in a future episode.
03:16Tonight, we are going to be bouncing all around the world of pro wrestling because there's
03:20so many different things to talk about.
03:21I almost feel frustrated that I have to cover this first thing, but yet another Bayley update.
03:28And this one comes from both WWE side of things and AEW side of things.
03:32So apparently, Bayley does have a contract offer out there from WWE to stay with the company.
03:39She has not made up her mind yet.
03:41Her contract, that's the other thing, is confusing.
03:45If you listen to Wrestling Observer Radio and you hear Bryan Alvarez talking and Dave Meltzer,
03:50they seem to have the belief.
03:52Meltzer, I believe, thought that the contract was up in October, whereas Alvarez thought it
03:56was in January.
03:57I don't know when her contract is up, but I find it wildly interesting that WWE still has
04:03a contract offer out there that creates the possibility for her to return, especially when
04:09you factor in her recent tweeting on X about All In and the workout montage with Mercedes
04:15Monet and things like that.
04:16It's very interesting.
04:18And now from the AEW side of things, executives and backstage people in AEW were said to be
04:23very shocked and surprised at her tweets because they know that she is currently under contract
04:29and there is absolutely no chance for her to appear in any kind of capacity at All In,
04:35despite the fact that she used the song called All In as the backdrop music for the video she
04:41put up.
04:42So very confusing stuff.
04:44Is this just Bayley trolling the fans?
04:46Which, if that's the case, I love it.
04:49I find it thoroughly hilarious.
04:51If this is some other situation, maybe WWE letting her out of her contract early, whatever
04:56it is, that would be wildly interesting too.
04:59Can you imagine if she showed up at All In?
05:01Again, I don't think there's even a 1% chance that happens.
05:05I think she's under contract at least until October.
05:07So I think All In is out for this year.
05:10Moving on from there, if you listen to Busted Open Radio, one of the things that I always
05:15love is when somebody gets frustrated and really goes at it, invents their information,
05:20gives their perspective.
05:22And sometimes, even though I'm not the biggest fan of his personality in real life, on the
05:27show, he gives great insight in some things.
05:30And that would be Bully Ray talking about the booking of LA Knight from Monday Night,
05:35Monday Night.
05:36I say Monday Netflix Raw is what I've been saying lately.
05:38Let's stick with that.
05:39When you see LA Knight a week ago going toe-to-toe with Roman Reigns, he looked like a main
05:45event
05:45talent.
05:46He spoke like a main event talent.
05:48Bully Ray pointed out today that there was no follow-up to that this week, that he was
05:53talked down to by Jacob Fatu.
05:56At the end of the promo when Fatu hit all his taglines, LA Knight looked like he was
06:02like a deer in headlights almost.
06:03He just took it all.
06:05The tongue lashing.
06:06It did nothing about it.
06:07Especially when you think about it.
06:09Just put this together in your brain.
06:11There's a storyline angle right now where nobody in the bloodline is allowed to touch
06:16him except Roman.
06:17So LA Knight should have been going off in this segment.
06:20He should have been saying whatever he wanted to say because Jacob can't touch him.
06:24But he didn't.
06:25He sat there and took it.
06:27And he looked like a punk for doing it.
06:29You take a guy who like, oh my goodness, how many times are the fans going to jump behind
06:34this guy as a top-tier talent only to have him squashed basically by the fact that they
06:40book him in such terrible, terrible segments?
06:43And why wasn't he on the show in a bigger capacity?
06:46Why didn't he come down in the main event?
06:48Why aren't we seeing a lot of things?
06:49Heck, in that show, let's be honest, we didn't see Roma, but we didn't see Seth.
06:52We didn't see LA Knight actually do anything.
06:54There's so many people we're not seeing do anything of substance right now.
06:59Why?
07:00And Oba didn't get physical.
07:01So, and really, Braun Breaker didn't really get physical either.
07:04It's like, all your top stars aren't doing anything.
07:07That, to me, hurts the product.
07:09I didn't hate the show, but I have to agree with Bully Ray.
07:12There was no follow-up.
07:13And it's just, it makes Knight look like an upper mid-carder at best, not a main eventer,
07:19following up on a week where he looked like a bona fide stud.
07:22From there, let's jump over to the, let's call it the independent scene.
07:27It's not really, but let's call it that.
07:28The New Day, formerly Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, now just going by Kofi and Austin Creed,
07:36have officially been announced for the Chris Jericho Rockin' Rager at Sea.
07:40They will be on the cruise.
07:42And I think this is, most people will assume this is like a precursor to them going to AEW.
07:49I think a lot of people have expected them the whole time to go to AEW.
07:53But the fact that they're announced for the Rager before going to AEW, I almost feel like
07:58that pulls a little bit of excitement away from their arrival in AEW.
08:02Now, I get it.
08:03The cruise isn't for a little while yet, but you have all in and all out both before then.
08:08And I'm sure they're probably going to show up at one of those two shows.
08:11The problem I have is just by announcing the Rager means you've taken away some of the
08:15excitement because anybody who is questioning whether they were coming or not now basically
08:21has had the, you know, for sure had the cat out of the bag.
08:24And now they're just waiting for the formality.
08:27And I don't really love the way that plays out.
08:29I really wish they had held off on this until after all in at least, you know, just so we
08:33could, if they are coming out at all in, they could have really shocked the crowd and had
08:37that big moment.
08:39Let's talk about shocking stuff.
08:41That shouldn't be.
08:42The guy's an egomaniac.
08:43The Rock, in the news today, wants to start a music career.
08:48Are we serious?
08:49This guy who's already, you know, he's been a wrestler.
08:53He's a film star.
08:54He's been an athlete in football.
08:56He's done all these things.
08:57He's got all these other side ventures and businesses, his alcohol, everything.
09:03All the stuff that he's involved in, now he wants to get into music.
09:05And, you know, for anybody who obviously watches children's movies, you know, he did
09:09the song in Moana that he performed.
09:11We've heard him sing on Raw a few times.
09:14We do, he did do some collaboration with Wycliffe and Tech N9ne.
09:18So he has some experience doing that.
09:20But what he was saying in an interview, and I apologize, I don't have the source, was that
09:25it was when he made a song called Your Dad for his daughters that he felt like the urge
09:31to really, you know, make a go of this.
09:33He referenced that he's all about like real country music and that that would be what he
09:37would target.
09:38So he's looking at the options and how to best make this happen, make it a reality.
09:43And look, if that's what he wants to do, more power to him.
09:45I mean, from the minor samples that we've had, from You're Welcome in Moana to the singing
09:52to Vicky Guerrero on Raw when he was mimicking the Eric Clapton stuff.
09:58I mean, he could probably sing pretty well, I would imagine.
10:03So hopefully not too much auto-tune because that drives me crazy.
10:06But, you know, whatever, more power to him.
10:09If that's what he wants to do, you go, you go, girl.
10:11You do your thing.
10:12Let's move on to Rey Mysterio.
10:14Rey Mysterio has made it clear that he is definitely winding down.
10:19He said that he's always trusted his body to tell him when it's time and his body's starting
10:23to tell him that it's time.
10:24It's obvious that Rey Mysterio is in a twilight of his career getting ready to retire.
10:28And I'm going to go there and I shouldn't because it's going to sound so disrespectful and
10:32superficial, but I recently saw a video posted on, I believe, Instagram of a young man who
10:39got a video with Rey Mysterio without his mask on.
10:43And just being honest, I felt like time has definitely, obviously time catches up to everybody,
10:51but it really hurt.
10:52There's the last time we saw Rey without a mask, he was so young.
10:55And now this time we've seen without a mask and he's not so young anymore.
10:59It's hard for a guy like me as old as I am to see that.
11:02And it makes me all the more understand why he's thinking of retirement.
11:06I really do hope he gets one last really big push right before he goes out.
11:12Even if it's in AAA, give him a run with the mega championship, have him beat Dom or something.
11:16But yeah, it sounds like we're winding it down for Rey Mysterio.
11:21And what an incredible career.
11:22That guy is obviously, he earned his spot in the Hall of Fame a few years back and he's
11:28done so much for the industry, revolutionized the industry, started wrestling, I believe
11:31they said it, like 15 years old, maybe he's 13, I don't know, really, really young in Mexico
11:37with psychosis often.
11:40And it's going to be sad to see him go, but he's brought some beautiful influence into
11:44the business with both Dominic Mysterio and now his daughter Aaliyah going to the Performance
11:49Center and getting ready to become a WWE performer.
11:51So if that is indeed something in the near future, hey, maybe we'll get another Gunther
11:56retirement moment.
11:57I don't know.
11:57We'll have to wait and see.
11:58And this last thing I got to touch on tonight, it actually grosses me out.
12:02I can't believe I'm going to say this.
12:04Patrick Clark, former wrestler known as Velveteen Dream in NXT, is going to be making his professional
12:12boxing debut on August 29th at a show called Dual Arena in a cruiserweight match at the Kia
12:19center in Orlando, Florida.
12:20And he is going to be going, he's fighting the host of Pillow Talk.
12:24I'm not familiar with the show myself.
12:25But the fact that this guy who, if anybody doesn't remember, he had some very serious
12:30allegations levied against him about inappropriate contact with a minor online.
12:35Um, a wrestler also came forward, said that he, he witnessed him grooming, um, a minor and
12:41things like that.
12:41Just some really distasteful stuff.
12:44Things you don't want to hear about anybody in the business, um, was released from WWE
12:49in 2021, uh, tried very hard in 2025 to come back.
12:53They obviously did not do that.
12:54Um, he's had some other legal run-ins, some drug paraphernalia here and there, got into a
12:59physical altercation at a gym where he was, they, somebody claimed that he bit somebody.
13:03So just a lot of strange stuff going on there and to see him getting an opportunity in another
13:08like spectacle event where you're like, uh, you know, I don't, I don't know, even, even
13:13up a spotlight that really people who are involved in some of the things that he's accused of.
13:17I mean, again, accused, he obviously hasn't gone to jail for any of them.
13:20So I mean, look, maybe he's innocent.
13:22He pleads innocent.
13:23I don't know.
13:24But, uh, just, it, it just leaves a worrisome feeling in your stomach.
13:28You know, I'm a father of three and I, I would not want my kids to see anything that's
13:32this guy does until I hear an exoneration, not just his claim.
13:37And I know that's counterintuitive in the United States where you're innocent till proven guilty.
13:41But when you're a parent, you got to protect your kids.
13:43You can't take chances.
13:45You know what I'm saying?
13:45And, uh, I don't think these allegations came from nowhere, but, um, I don't know,
13:49you know, how much validity there is to them or what the context was or any of that.
13:53So in fairness to him, he may be completely innocent and lost his wrestling career for nothing.
13:58And I might be upset about him boxing for nothing, but I don't have a way to know that.
14:02And there was no major investigation or anything like that.
14:05So we'll, we probably will never know.
14:07And it's just, uh, just leaves a weird taste in your mouth.
14:11You know, just not something you really want to, really want to endorse.
14:14You know what I'm saying?
14:15That's all the time we have for this episode.
14:17Check back with us next episode.
14:18We'll run down the latest wrestling news and rumors.
