Hello, citizens of Acity!
Today’s work, [Drift Map], was written based on the core theories of Guy Debord, the founder of the Situationist International: Psychogeography and Dérive (Drift).
Debord viewed the city not merely as a collection of buildings, but as a psychological terrain that is perceived differently depending on an individual's mood and emotions. He termed the act of wandering through the city according to one's heart, deviating from fixed and efficient routes, as "Dérive." This project captures a subject who, instead of rushing toward a destination, stops at urban nodes such as crosswalks and fountains to gaze intently at the space.
This act demonstrates a rejection of the city’s schedule of efficiency, opting instead to occupy the space according to a personal, sensory timetable. The vivid green dress and striking red heels, which contrast sharply with the monochromatic city, visualize the persona of a "psychogeographical artist" who—rather than being alienated by the city's massive machinery—rearranges the landscape with her own colors.
The lyric "Drifting on the map, free-way!" sings of the liberation found in breaking away from the system-defined paths. Furthermore, the declaration "Redefining city minds" reflects the sovereign attitude of a subject who colors anonymous spaces with her unique aura.
A time to turn off the GPS in the heart of a metropolis ruled by efficiency and speed, and instead follow the map of your own heart. Following the footsteps of the designer who has become the city's scenery herself, I hope you enjoy a time of pleasant contemplation as you discover your own rhythm within daily life.
