00:06So much to talk about in the weather, so let's get right to it.
00:09We're starting things off with what happened today.
00:12The Trinidad and Tobago Met Service is monitoring another active tropical wave
00:17in the central tropical Atlantic, about 2,100 kilometers east of the southern Windward Islands.
00:23Now, the system is becoming more organized,
00:26with a defined low-pressure center on showers and thunderstorms,
00:30and has an 80% chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next seven days.
00:36It is moving westward at about 24 kilometers per hour,
00:40and is expected to cross the eastern Caribbean this weekend.
00:44Again, there are currently no watches or warnings in effect for Trinidad and Tobago.
00:49And here's what else happened today.
00:51Due to the passing of a tropical wave, local conditions were enhanced,
00:56bringing heavy showers and thunderstorms across Trinidad.
00:59So far, there were reports of flooding in several parts of Claxton Bay,
01:04Calcutta No. 2 Shigonas, and M1 Tasker Road, Princess Tongue,
01:08while scattered showers were reported in Tobago.
01:12But will we get rain tonight?
01:14Well, according to the Met Office,
01:16tonight will be mostly settled, but with brief lingering showers in some areas,
01:20with minimum temperatures at 25 degrees in Trinidad and 26 in Tobago.
01:24And those same brief overnight and pre-dawn showers will continue in some areas,
01:30eventually leading to a generally fair morning that will become party cloudy by late morning into the afternoon.
01:36Heavy showers can develop, especially near hilly areas.
01:40Now, in the event of a heavy shower or thunderstorm,
01:43gusty winds are likely, and street or flash flooding is possible in areas so prone.
01:48Daytime temperatures will reach up to 32 degrees in Trinidad and 31 in Tobago.
01:53Checking in on our dust levels now,
01:55Saharan dust is gradually increasing to become significant over the next 24 to 48 hours.
02:02Sensitive persons are advised to, of course, take all the necessary precautions.
02:08Now, if you're enjoying the rain we've been getting,
02:11then the next couple of days should put a smile on your face.
02:15Friday and Saturday will both give us cloudy and hazy skies at times,
02:19along with light to moderate showers that can become heavy or thundery.

02:25In Trinidad, sunrise is at 5.56 and 5.52 in Tobago,
02:29and sunset at 6.25 in Trinidad and 6.23 in Tobago.
02:33And with rain expected tomorrow, if you still have plans to head out at sea,
02:37be careful, but seas will be moderate with waves,
02:402 meters to 2.5 meters in open waters,
02:43and 1 meter in sheltered areas.
02:45So basically, open seas, rougher conditions,
02:49sheltered areas, calmer conditions.
