00:12hey you've had heaps buddy this has been like a burial ground for monks for like
00:252000 years or something what is that noise bats yeah let's not go in that direction where the bat noises
00:34are coming from honey
01:08okay i think we've arrived at our airbnb i'm not sure yep this is it
01:27i feel so off the beaten path right now where are we
01:54okay we just checked in to our tiny home on the beach in a little village in surat dhani called
02:01chong kram we have a couple nights stay over here just on our way to ko samui from khao sok
02:07national
02:08park if you didn't catch our last video we stayed at a another place here in chong kram just down
02:14the road which was absolutely amazing and completely unexpected and unplanned but we've
02:18got two nights here in this tiny house look at this view that we have from the balcony
02:31so as i said we just got here uh mandy's getting a tight massage in the room they're going to
02:36bring
02:37a masseuse over to the airbnb from the village because there's no like there's no shops there's
02:42no massage joints or anything here it's completely remote we kind of stumbled across this place by
02:47accident she's going to get a thai massage then we'll grab some dinner and the owner has already
02:52introduced himself super nice french dude he's going to show us a bunch of cool stuff to do tomorrow
02:58in the area that is really authentic and local that i think no other tourists have really done because
03:05he only opened this place a year ago and he said there's about 400 people living in this village
03:10a hundred of them are like relatives they're all related and there's no foreigners been coming
03:16through here until about a year ago so we might be some of the first people to actually visit here
03:21yeah what do you reckon so far i love it it's so peaceful the nature is amazing and everyone has
03:27been
03:27very very welcoming to lila like the love for babies here is insane
03:34yeah the last place we're at like they were obsessed with her and as soon as we walked in here
03:38too like
03:39everyone's just like going goo goo ga ga for lila and kissing her feet which we didn't know what it
03:45meant so i looked it up on chat jbt and it's basically just like a show of affection usually between
03:50family members to show the purity and innocence of babies which is pretty sweet
04:07okay i'm keeping my voice down because it's literally so peaceful here i hope you can still hear me
04:15mandy's getting a massage and i've just had a walk around the property and this place is incredible
04:22it's like just full of palm trees coconut trees they've got a garden with veggies cactuses
04:31there's a nice breeze coming off the water there's not much of a beach but like you're right on the
04:38water you can literally walk from the bungalow 20 steps and you're in the water i was just talking to
04:43the owner i've forgotten his name i always do that him and his wife built this place basically during
04:49covert because they needed something to do pretty much and it's incredible they've built this in a
04:54couple of years and look at it so hopefully i'm not over sharing i'll ask him if this is okay
05:02to share
05:02but i just had a chat with him and he explained to me basically that him and his wife have
05:07a business and
05:07work in bangkok his wife's family's from here and they used to spend like a couple of weeks or like
05:15a few days every month down here and they started with just building their little house as like a
05:22getaway but then when covert hit and their work sort of stopped they came and built a restaurant and
05:30accommodation basically just for their family spent some time making it really nice and then he just
05:37decided to build the four cabins just as a place for friends and family to stay like a family compound
05:43that had a restaurant attached to it so that they could give some of their family and the locals work
05:49he said that 90 of the income they generate goes back to the community and the locals and they give
05:57all of the locals work when they need it even if they don't necessarily need people working they get
06:01the locals in to work when the locals maybe need a bit of extra money we were talking about how
06:07i think anyway most of the time if you do something just because it feels right and you do it
06:12out of
06:13like i guess passion is the right word love i don't know i know it sounds corny nine times out
06:19of ten the
06:19money follows and this is living proof of that these four bungalows are booked out basically every day
06:27year round with no advertising just reviews from airbnb and that's probably because they give really good
06:36service and it's such a beautiful place and he even said like they could build four more and probably get
06:42them booked out all year round but they don't really have any interest in this being like some mega hotel
06:49business thing like this is just a nice sanctuary where they have their friends and their community
06:57around and it also happens to be a popular place for people to come and stay and generate some money
07:04that goes back into the family and the community and i think that's pretty cool hey guys we just want
07:10to give a huge shout out to everyone who's already joined our free youtube blueprint school community
07:16so we started this about four months ago to build a supportive group for anyone wanting to start or
07:23grow a youtube channel and turn it into a full-time income and we're already almost at 200 members and
07:29growing every day in this community we hold weekly q a calls where you can ask us literally anything
07:35about youtube and content creation and the best part is that it's absolutely free no strings attached but
07:42look this group isn't for everybody it's for people who are serious about doing what we do and taking
07:48action so if that's you come and join the party now click the link in the description and let's grow
07:54together thanks to everybody who's already been a part of this amazing group and we can't wait to see
08:00what you create so we'll see you on the inside
08:17so the manager of the airbnb has just brought us to this really unique buddhist monastery which is in the
08:24middle of the cave
08:25there's just one monk that lives here it's been around for like 2 000 years it's like a burial spot
08:30for monks that have passed away and other monks from different provinces come and pay their respects
08:37but we've just been told we're okay to film here and take photos and everything but not to talk about
08:46where it is or what it's called because i don't want it to get too busy so um we won't
08:50be leaving a link
08:51or anything there's a ton of dogs and monkeys here we've been told that the monkeys are super friendly
08:58not like in other places but it's still it feels sketchy yeah oh my goodness
09:08no no
09:13why just give it to him hold
09:22jesus why does that one look different than the other ones yeah this one has red face
09:28red face there's at least 30 monkeys right here and we're just giving him bananas
09:32oh that one's got a baby it's a little baby she's holding it this is how i am it's ayla
09:46oh no no no no no no no no no no hey
09:57see how that one jumped
10:07oh
10:07is this for the dogs or the food for
10:09this is so weird they're bouncing around everywhere
10:24i don't scratch no
10:29freaking me out man
10:32you don't worry you're poking tonight
10:38they look very scared actually
10:40it's just um
10:42still unpredictable
10:48oh that's so sweet
10:54hey you've had heaps
10:57buddy
11:03they're scared of the dogs they're scared of the dogs yeah
11:06want some
11:08some food
11:10look at this little one
11:12it's so cute
11:13don't jump on me they make they sound like lila
11:15cool cool cool they're like cool cool
11:23cool where's the baby there's a little baby up there
11:29that's lila
11:37they must have some scraps with the dogs a very different experience to our usual encounters with
11:44monkeys usually they like are aggressive and they'll try and snatch things out of your hand
11:49these ones are very very timid and they seem to be afraid of the monk as well as the dogs
11:56they've probably just been disciplined or something I'm guessing but um yeah they just gently like grab
12:02the food out of your hand and run away they are making some weird noises oh wow does this go
12:20down
12:20yeah all right now we're talking just heading down into the cave wow Jude was telling me that um this
12:31has been like a burial ground for monks for like 2,000 years or something and other monks come to
12:39visit from all over Thailand it does smell like a cave oh I just stepped in something not good watch
12:56your feet
12:58there's monkey poo all over the ground that's probably what it is
13:08she's always so calm when we're temples i think she likes temples i think so too i do too i
13:15think she can
13:15sense the energy
13:24bats
13:28bats
13:29yeah we can hear bats in the background i don't know if you can hear that
13:53wow this just keeps going and going doesn't it yeah this is massive i thought it was just going
14:00to be one little tiny little room in a cave it's really big
14:24yeah let's not go in that direction where the bat noises are coming from honey
14:31a few too many for my liking i think i'd rather go the other way
14:37oh and here looks cool
14:44wow what's that
14:45oh and this one there's some really cool statues here
15:00that's a real body that's the real monk's body yes no no no no no no no no what do
15:06you mean
15:07underneath okay yeah yeah there is a mummified oh no underneath underneath okay wow is it okay to film
15:27i believe that's the original monk that was buried here i've got a statue of him and a photo and
15:36then
15:36there's these gold monk statues as well
15:39so
15:46so
15:48so
15:50so
16:10this goes massive
16:22i'm kind of happy to be out of there yeah we shouldn't have watched that movie that we watched
16:29about the cave that flooded and all the kids got stuck in it yeah what was it called like
16:3419 below or something like that yeah we'll put it on the screen it's a thai movie it was really
16:40good
16:41the young thai soccer team boys that um in shang rai went into a cave sort of similar to that
16:51but a
16:51lot bigger and then a really big rainstorm hit and they got stuck and like the whole country and
17:00um even other countries like australia and the uk flew people out to get them out and uh won't ruin
17:07the
17:07the ending for you but it was a really really good movie and i think the only thai movie we've
17:11ever
17:12watched and it was excellent
17:14like
17:15and i'm
17:15and i'm
17:20and i'm
17:41and i'm
17:42and
17:43and i'm
17:43and i'm
17:48she's been so happy here we need one of these swings at home that's what it is yeah it's been
17:54a week since we left and um I just realized we've been like off grid the whole time we started
18:01at
18:02the tree house in Renault and then we went to the floating resort in Khao Sok and now here like
18:09we
18:10haven't really been in civilization for a while it feels longer than what it's been yeah but tomorrow
18:19we're catching the car ferry over to Koh Samui we went there in 2022 just after Covid and it was
18:28like
18:28dead nothing going on a lot of businesses shut down I've been told that it's hectic it's like
18:36Bali level traffic now so I guess that would be like back to civilization it'd be interesting to
18:42see how much it's changed since we were there last yeah we're gonna spend a week there maybe longer
18:48if we like it I guess we booked a week though not easy to book accommodation I couldn't believe not
18:55to sound like a whinger or anything but I couldn't believe how expensive accommodation is at Koh Samui
18:59and Phuket I don't remember it being that expensive like anywhere decent four stars and above you're
19:06looking at like 500 bucks a night yeah it wasn't like that before well it definitely wasn't like
19:12that last time we traveled maybe it just it's been a while since we've traveled to a popular place in
19:18peak season we always usually go in like shoulder season when it's raining or something yeah true yeah I
19:23don't know is Thailand like starting to get unaffordable accommodation now not unaffordable but
19:29like it used to be somewhere you come because it's cheap which food and everything still is but 500
19:36bucks a night for a room it seems like accommodation everywhere is expensive sort of now but like you can
19:44still get affordable meals and things but like accommodation yeah yeah short-term accommodation is
19:50expensive but long-term not so much yeah even here like which is really really nice it's awesome
19:58it's pretty basic though and it was a couple hundred bucks a night feels like when we started
20:02traveling that would have been at least half the price right yeah I mean when we started in Bali
20:07we were pretty much staying in a tiny home just like this like a guest house same setup pretty much
20:14and it was like 50 a night yeah and I'm sure and it's not anymore that that apparently that place
20:22is just ridiculously expensive so so we're heading somewhere new if you want to follow along don't
