00:53It's checkout day, we've spent a week here

00:57We're leaving this morning on our way back home

00:59To Hua Hin

01:00But we are driving today

01:02To a little town sort of halfway between here

01:05And Hua Hin called

01:09I'm not sure, but it's a cool little beach town

01:11It's about three and a half hours

01:14The ferry gets off

01:16Anyway, we're just gonna get some breakfast from the

01:29And it's an hour drive

01:30From this side of the island

01:32To where the ferry takes off

01:34So we gotta get moving

01:35We've had a good week here in Koh Samui

03:09Ok guys today we are headed to Champon

03:19Ok we made it to the ferry an hour early which means we got on the early ferry but

03:26I fucked up I bought us a ferry ticket from Surat Dhani to Koh Samui instead

03:33of from Koh Samui to Surat Dhani and they couldn't swap it so we just had to

03:37buy a new ticket but luckily it's only 580 baht so it's like 20 bucks sorry

03:43honey we've made worse mistakes than that before we've definitely made worse

03:47mistakes at least we got an hour early that gives us heaps more time to get to

03:51jump on is that what we're saying jump on jump on

04:07so Mandy's just chilling in the car with Lila we had a pretty good time on Koh Samui

04:11honestly we mostly just relaxed at the resort we didn't film anywhere near as

04:17much as what we wanted to think because we did so much in the first like 10

04:21days we moved around a lot and filmed every single day and by the time we got

04:26to Koh Samui we were just really kind of tired from lack of sleep but also filming

04:31everything and moving around so it was a good little holiday but I definitely

04:36think Koh Samui is on our radar for places to come back to we're gonna come

04:42back in a couple of months because I had a really good vibe to it it's kind of

04:47feels like Bali did a few years ago I am a little bit worried that it's gonna get

04:53overrun and over busy like Bali but the roads are way better so you don't have to

04:59worry about all the congestion and traffic yeah we had some issues with our drone

05:05stopped working the remote controller we couldn't figure that out we're meant to

05:09film a couple of properties that would have been awesome to film like full

05:15luxury high-end properties very unique one of them cancelled on us last minute

05:21unfortunately the other one we had to cancel because our camera wasn't working

05:25yeah we also had a tour booked they got cancelled because of the weather so we had

05:32a big stack week planned in Koh Samui which ended up just being honestly kind of a nice just family

05:40holiday and I'm not really complaining about that at all I feel like we got

05:44enough travel vlogging done in the 10 days before we got to Koh Samui that yeah it was

05:51good to take the travel vlogger hat off and just have our first real holiday as a family and it

06:00great definitely be coming back but heading back home now which I'm not upset

06:06about either because I'm really looking forward to sleeping in our own bed home

06:11cooked food going back to the gym and jiu-jitsu and yoga and just getting into

06:15our routine pretty stoked about that

09:18just pulled up to the hotel here in Champong looks amazing it's right on the

09:24beach like proper beachfront hotel has a pretty long travel day we left at 7 30 it's three o'clock

09:31now just in time for check-in let's go see what this hotel is like so far it looks pretty

09:36it's like an island right over here it looks like bungalows right on the beach so it should be good

10:20not too bad it's called uh the nest beach resort i think it's called and it was about four thousand

10:28baht for the night including breakfast this is just like the deluxe room there's also like beachfront

10:34villas you can get for a bit more but this seems good enough for us we're gonna be here less

14:53We ate natos and drank beer.

15:00I thought with having a baby the problem that I like everyone always would say like you're

15:05going to be up all night with a crying baby and not pretty much like me up crying because

15:09I can't sleep.

15:10I've got insomnia and she sleeps fine.

15:12So whatever.

15:13I'd rather her have a better sleep than me one day.

15:16Pretty good spot to wake up to though.

15:17Yeah.

15:22Okay.

15:22So I was just talking to the owner of this resort.

15:26His name is Max, I think.

15:27French guy.

15:28Really cool.

15:29And he told me that the reason it's called The Nest is because this island directly across

15:36from us here, it's a private island.

15:40There's like a house on it and a private beach and it's protected because there's like

15:45some really rare species of birds.

15:48They're really big birds, he said.

15:50So they're protected by like the Thai government.

15:53He said you can go and visit the beach there, but you're not allowed to like walk around the

15:59island or anything because it is protected.

16:02And he said the Thai government is like cracking down on that sort of thing a little bit more

16:07in recent years.

16:08It'd be cool to like kayak or something over to that island.

16:11But I think they probably don't want too many visitors because like they're going to ruin

16:16it, which is probably a good thing.

16:18Like so much of Thailand is all about tourism.

16:21It's good to have some stuff protected.

16:23On another note, I think I mentioned in an earlier video that our drone stopped working

16:27pretty much as soon as we got to Koh Samui.

16:30Had this problem.

16:31I was literally trying to figure it out for like four or five days.

16:35Asked our Instagram community, was calling people, asking everyone how to sort it out.

16:41Couldn't get it sorted.

16:42And then we got here and it was like the most epic, epic beach and place to fly a drone.

16:50And I was just gutted that it wasn't going to work.

16:52But Mandy was like, just try it.

16:54Just like turn it on and see if it works.

16:56And it fucking worked.

16:58Just out of the blue.

16:59Didn't change anything.

17:00The error that was coming up didn't come up and it just worked.

17:03And it wasn't an airport thing with Koh Samui.

17:06It was something to do with the remote controller needing to be recalibrated and that wasn't working.

17:10So I don't know how to explain that.

17:12For whatever reason, the universe didn't want us to have a drone in Koh Samui for whatever reason.

17:18Yesterday it started working.

17:19So we got some sick drone shots that I'm really happy about.

17:22going back in to The

17:52all right that wraps up our first holiday with a baby and our three-week road trip in thailand

17:59what a great time we had actually we learned a lot a few things we would have done differently

18:04but all in all we had an amazing time we found some awesome new places that we've never been

18:08before i think our next video is going to be reflecting on this trip and everything we wish

18:15we knew before traveling with a baby since this is the first time we've ever done it

18:19yeah and it also feels like a lot of people think they have to quit traveling or quit doing things

18:24that they love just because they've had a child and we think the opposite we think that you can

18:30like integrate your kid into your life and share the things that you love with them instead so yeah

18:36in the next video we'll share what we wish we knew i guess before we went traveling yeah so if
