00:00In today's article, we are going to dive straight into a great, spiritual and spiritual phenomenon, which
00:06It is really surprising.
00:08Imagine an Ijtema that draws millions of people from across the world to a single centre every year.
00:15To understand this completely, we need to look at the beliefs and the underlying history that led to this wonder.
00:22The English are the soul of the journey.
00:24Okay, so let's first understand the scale of this Ijtema.
00:28Twenty million, or two crore people, is one of the largest and most peaceful congregations of today.
00:37Is.
00:37Literally, every year such a huge number of people gather at one place for a single purpose.
00:43This reality in itself is mind blowing that how and why so many people came together
00:49There are.
00:49So the first question that comes to mind is what are those things that these two crore people
00:55It forces Afrad to leave his comfortable home and business and travel 80 kilometers on foot.
01:01Do it.
01:01This is no ordinary journey. People call it the journey of love and the journey of freedom. Come.
01:07Let us see what history says about this unique spirit.
01:31During his reign, this great congregation was banned. As soon as his rule ended in 2003, this journey
01:38Suddenly, there was a tremendous increase. People seemed to have been stagnant for centuries.
01:43Well, this journey and this whole phenomenon is called Arbain. Arbain is the language of the Arabic language.
01:50It simply means fortieth. This word basically refers to the fortieth day after someone's death.
01:57Nishan does the curd.
01:58In many Islamic gatherings, on the fortieth day after death, family and friends gather.
02:05They offer prayers, give charity and perform good deeds for the deceased.
02:10But here's another question. Why only forty? Why not thirty or fifty? Look, forty is just a few.
02:19These are not ordinary numbers. Islamic tradition, including the Quran and Hadith, considers the number forty to be extremely sacred.
02:27And it holds deep meaning. Very
02:40This becomes evident when we look at the earliest religious history. For example, Abel's
02:46Exactly forty days after the ghastly death, the Qa'bal learned to bury him. Jesus' departure to the heavens coincided with his appearance.
02:53It was forty days in the year 1400. Similarly, Hazrat
02:56Fatima mourned the death of the Prophet of Islam for forty days, and even more so for Hazrat Yahya.
03:02Tears were shed for forty days. So this forty-day affair is a remarkable moment in history.
03:08Arbaeen according to the Islamic calendar
03:12This special day falls on the 20th of Safar, that is, immediately after Ashura, which occurs on the 10th of Mahram.
03:19Forty days later. This day marks the fortieth anniversary of Imam Husayn. This is the day that marks the end of Islamic history.
03:26Remembering that great and long struggle and special sorrow of that era
03:30It is destined to be done. To understand this properly, take a look at the events of Karbala.
03:36This is very important. If we consider the sequence of these events in terms of time, the year was 61 Hijri.
03:44The battle of Karbala takes place on the tenth of the month where Prophet Ismail
04:00This is the chronology of the Karbala massacre. Historical accounts state that when these people returned from captivity after being freed,
04:05So, he reached Karbala on this very day, Arbaeen. This tajjiyya depicts the political and spiritual opposition of the time.
04:13It is also important to understand one
04:28According to him, this was a profound struggle between good and evil. This was a protest against the oppressive force.
04:34Imam Hussein offered his life as a sacrifice. So, at this very point, this grand pilgrimage began.
04:41Where did it all begin?
04:46Jabir was a companion of the Prophet of Islam who traveled to Karbala. It is said that he
04:53He appeared at the shrine of Hussein on the very day of Arbaeen, and it was he who laid the foundation for the arduous journey that continues today.
05:00A series of two crore people has been formed
05:02The spiritual significance of this grief can be best understood from this one call which the Imam
05:08It is attributed to Jafar Sadiq. He said, "Heaving a sigh of sorrow over our oppression is considered Tasbih." And this sorrow
05:16Our secret is jihad.
05:19This means that in Shia tradition, this grief is not considered a mere passive sadness. It is an act of worship. It is a spiritual act.
05:25Struggle is a struggle. It is an active method of fighting against the oppressor. Well, this is a historical turn and
05:32These are general matters. But if we
05:49Now the most interesting thing here is these five signs which identify a believer.
05:55These are narrated and attributed to Imam Hasan al-Askari. What do they include? Day 1
06:00Performing 51 rakats of prayer at night. The second special prayer is Arbaeen.
06:05Third, wearing a ring on the right hand. Fourth, placing the forehead on the ground during prostration. And fifth, saying Bismillah during prayer.
06:13Recite this from a lofty abode. Together, these deeds shape a devotee's spirituality.
06:20with the
06:35People leave Najaf and walk day and night, despite their exhaustion, to reach Karbala.
06:42There's a taste of endurance in me. But what makes this exhausting journey easy and, indeed, sweet
06:49Yes, that is the picture of Alamawakib
06:51What is this Mawakib? These are volunteer service points, tents and pana gaha that are set up along the route.
06:59Here, locals provide free food, water, and medical assistance to pedestrians from their own pockets.
07:07Twenty million people
07:08Providing them with free food, feed, and accommodation is nothing short of a logistical miracle.
07:16The most important point that emerges is that the foundation of this entire setup is karma, that is, friendship and
07:22Diyafa, that is, hospitality
07:24These Razakars treat every traveler like their own family, they serve them and give them the best part.
07:30There is no expectation of any kind of money or return, this is an expression of sincere sympathy without any demand.
07:37Wakis is the heart of the journey.
07:38And this raises a final, profound question. In a world where division is everywhere,
07:47And there appears to be disagreement, this great journey of twenty million people, the foundation of which is friendship, hospitality and kindness.
07:55is in agreement against
07:56What lesson is it teaching humanity? This is an example that forces us to pause and think.
08:02It asks what we can learn from this brotherhood and spiritual steadfastness.
08:09That's all for you, see you again.
