00:02Matty congratulations through to the bronze final tonight you seem to build
00:05nicely through that one yes it's it was kind of a weird ride to actually think
00:10I rode pretty much the same speed the whole time just I think everyone before
00:13me had gone out too fast and and faded so yeah it looked like I sped up but I
00:18think I was just going the same speed and you got I would say one of the
00:21biggest cheers of the night from the crowd I don't know how much you can hear
00:24when you got your head down but it was certainly impressed me on the sidelines
00:27no I definitely felt it I think yeah I've said before that I think being an
00:31underdog nation you get you get the extra support I think they kind of yeah they
00:34don't feel sorry for you but it's like unexpected and I guess they're rooting
00:38for you maybe more than they would a big nation so no I felt it and I could I yeah
00:43it made me kind of think I'm on for a good result here and just get that little
00:47bit extra out of me last night obviously your partner Megan got a medal is there
00:51a bit of household bragging rights on the line tonight
00:55I would like to get a medal so that she doesn't have one up on me but now I'm
01:00really proud of her and and obviously medals are never guaranteed so yeah
01:04whether I come third or fourth it's it's just kind of doing your best I know it
01:08sounds really cheesy but you've just got to be in it in it to to win it really or
01:12or get a medal so just just please I can be there or thereabouts and even if it
01:16doesn't work out it's yeah I'm not far off for the uneducated amongst us what's the
01:21major differences between the crit right on the road which you're obviously your
01:25specialty to to turn up on a bike on the on the track today is it is it a big
01:29change of mentality to be honest physically it's quite similar it's very
01:34short efforts short and fast trying to get the maximum speed you can out
01:37yourself really obviously in the crits you've got corners and and yeah a lot
01:42more variables and things to deal with but it's very similar in the fact that you
01:46just you're obviously against other people and you just it's all about
01:49efficiency going fast and yeah short efforts so it's kind of kind of similar
01:53enough and then finally you must have one of the most famous spanner man in the in
01:58the I'm going to say the paddock I don't know if that's correct term but yeah Rob
02:01Hales is in your corner how's that been now it's been really good it's good to
02:05just bounce conversation off people who've been there and done it I think is
02:09it's yeah it can ease the pressure and and kind of relieve a bit nerves when
02:13you've got someone who's been to the Olympics been multiple world champion and
02:16stuff it's like okay what should I do or should I panic or should I change my my
02:21splits or what have you it's just good to to bounce off people like that and
02:23obviously he's also been here and done it so he's not he's not stressed or
02:27worried about the occasion himself so that that's also nice sometimes the the
02:31coach can stress you out more than more than you are so that's been great well
02:35good luck for tonight and for the rest of the meeting thank you very much
