00:00Hello there, my name's Chris Brown, author of this book, The Banner Fair, under the name of C.K.
00:07Brown. The book The Banner Fair is about a gentleman from the Black Country, and some
00:16people have called him the Black Country Bond, not myself however, and part of the book is set
00:23locally and covers many areas around the Black Country. So the character goes all across the
00:31world to places like Hungary, Hong Kong, Paris, and the book is full of all the normal stuff that
00:40you get in spy thrillers, romance, violence, intrigue, espionage, treachery, and after going through all
00:50this, the book does finish back in Smethwick. I think going to the previous book, The Zed
00:57Affair, from the comments I've had, people connect both with the area, who live in the area, and
01:05also with the time, 1971, the first book, and 1972. So they recognise things of, you know,
01:1550 years ago, and there's a bit of reminiscence there. Well, the book is aimed at, let's say,
01:23a more mature clientele, probably over 50, although other sort of generations did read the first
01:33book, and liked it from all I can gather. I started this journey, if you like, of writing, and
01:46continued it when I retired several years ago, and finished it off then. I didn't put my feet up,
01:55but I do all sorts of things, and still do, and writing is one of those. I think lots of
02:01people think
02:02they always say, well, I've got a novel in me, and they talk about it. The only way to do
02:07it,
02:09write a book, is to actually do it and have the discipline to actually go through it and finish it,
02:17and it can be quite hard work, although enjoyable. Perseverance and conscientiousness is the key
02:26to writing a book, and I think that's been possibly the key to everything I've done
02:33throughout my life. Well, I'm having a go at the third book, even though this one's only just coming
02:39out. So, no, I think somewhere within me, I think it's within my blood somewhere. The book is now
02:48available on Amazon, and also places like Waterstones, and all booksellers across the UK.
02:57Okay.
