00:00Um, I think, uh, as it relates to the president's cup, you know, it'll be really interesting to see what
00:06direction Brant Snedeker goes, but like I'm of the mindset that if we have, we have a rider cup problem
00:13on the, on the, you know, the current state of affairs for the American team is like, we need to
00:18find a way to win some of these rider cups and whatever is happening in terms of qualification or the
00:22team selection process.
00:23Like the roster were put together, you know, I've not got it done the last few times in the most
00:27recent time on home soil. So from my perspective, it's like, let's take a look at some young guys at
00:35Madonna this fall just to kind of see if there are any killers on this team that could potentially be
00:39an asset when we go and play a road game at a dare manner. Like I want to see Godra,
00:44Bridgman, Akshay Batia, Ryan Gerrard, Jackson Coivin, even if that's at the expense of maybe some more veteran tenured players.
00:51And if I'm those guys, it's like, here, a couple of things. One is if you want to be on
00:55the team, you can qualify through top six on points. And if you haven't qualified, if you played well in
01:00a rider cup, your spot's probably going to be okay. And if you haven't, well, tough luck. Like we're going
01:06to go take a look at some younger guys and kind of see what they can show us. Not dissimilar
01:09to international soccer teams that are, you know, in different sort of windows, calling up different sets of guys to
01:15see what they, what they kind of have in their makeup within a team structure.
01:17I'd rather see all those young guys this fall, because I think we're going to have to do something a
01:23little bit different for a dare manner in 2027.
01:27Well, I don't, I definitely don't disagree with you by any stretch of the imagination, but what I will offer
01:32just a little bit of insight and just maybe a, an argument into all of this is that team USA
01:37is different at the president's cup.
01:40Sure.
01:41Is it the rider cup?
01:42You got two different organizations and we've talked about how disorganized they've been for the, for the PGA of America
01:48and the captains, uh, of the past, I should say for team USA, uh, for these rider cups and how
01:54that's been confusing.
01:55Like the communication hasn't been great.
01:57You got different people that you never deal with.
01:59Now the president's cup may be a big reason why we've been so successful besides out most of the time
02:04out talenting the international team, especially with the demise of, uh, or I should say the players going over to
02:10live that team has really struggled from a talent standpoint, but they also, the U S captains are, are dealing
02:18with, with the PGA tour people.
02:20They're always dealing with, uh, day in and day out, you know, from the, the comms people, the guys that
02:25we see dated in day in and day out, uh, that's who these captains and players are dealing with.
02:31And I think that's, there's a comfort there.
02:32I know like these, these are like very, very small things that, that a lot of people really wouldn't understand
02:37as something that would potentially be a reason why we've struggled so much, um, in the rider cup.
02:44I think it's actually really interesting.
02:46Yeah.
02:47Yeah.
02:48So I would just put it as when I, when I think about this president's cup and what Brant has
02:55in front of him, first off, this is the first time he's going to be a captain.
02:58He's been an assistant captain, but what's, what's just like, try to jump into Brant Seneca shoes for a second.
03:03Brant Seneca is going to want to put together the best possible team for him so that he does not
03:10lose a home president's cup.
03:12He could give a crap about the young movement, I think, because the reason, like if he wants to be
03:18a captain ever again, he can't lose.
03:21And so why would you ever potentially put a team that you feel like isn't as good or experienced as
03:29a team that, uh, full of guys that have, have a ton of spirits.
03:33Now, I, I don't disagree with what you're saying.
03:36All I'm saying is that, isn't it pretty normal to think that if you were a team captain, wouldn't you
03:44like value experience?
03:46And if you're deciding between a couple of different players, it's like, ah, you know, like he's, he won.
03:54Sure.
03:54Like, but that was back in March.
03:56Uh, but this guy, you know, he hadn't won in three years, but he's had a lot of top 25s.
04:02And you're like, well, and he's also got a, he's got a, he's played 22 matches and you're like, ah,
04:08this guy's played how many zero?
04:09Ah, gosh, do we take that guy?
04:11Now I, I I'm with you.
04:13I would love to see us at least at the bottom of the lineup, be able to, I say bottom
04:18of the lineup.
04:18These guys are like world-class players, but you know, some of these last couple of picks, try to just
04:24develop a little bit, uh, of these teams.
04:27So that when you get into these Ryder cup years, you're not afraid to pick these players because they have
04:31some type of experience and they've been in the team room.
04:34So when it comes to Koivin, I, I think for him, he's got to keep playing well.
04:39Like this, this was a foot in the door.
04:40Now everybody's paying attention, but I think his goal needs to be is how can I make it to a
04:46championship?
