How To Spot Radon In The Basement

You know, people hear the buzzword RADON.
The house has radon we can’t buy it.

Well, radon gas is a radioactive particle that’s generally located in the basement — in the air — in the oxygen and it seeps up through your basement floor.

This is because the radon is actually located In the ground underneath the house.

Where does it come from? Well, it comes from granite, it comes from limestone, or just rock foundations, and these rocks or ledges will expel a certain gas and it’s radon.

Okay, so we’ve detected radon in your basement because we did a radon test or the inspector did it, or you actually see a pipe in your basement that goes into the basement floor.
It’s an exhaust system.

It draws in, or it’s like a vacuum, that sucks out the radon gas through a filter into the outside air.

So this way, it’s taking away the radon gas from underneath your basement, taking it outside through a fan system.

You’ll see on the outside of the house a pipe that goes up and over to your rooftop.

Thus filtering out your system in the basement and leaving clean air there so it’s safe.

So now that the levels are, you know, above four, which is considered the breaking point, well now your levels with the radon system will be around two or two and a half.

This makes it safe for you and your family.

So, don’t let the radon gas upset you in buying the house because it can be remedied.

AND…

It’s not a terribly expensive fix. Just be aware of that.

And this is a radon system. This is what that looks like and it essentially provides fresh air to the basement that circulates up through the house.

Radon testing is big here in the Northeast. However, they remedy it with this unit, and it works very well.
