00:1142 different quarterbacks since they've been back as an expansion team in Cleveland have fought for the quarterbacking job in

00:23And now it's between Deshaun Watson and Shador Sanders.
00:27And here's the odds right now for the Cleveland Browns to win the Super Bowl.
00:31So this is quite a number here.
00:33I mean, you've got two quarterbacks right now.
00:36One could go down as the worst contract in the history of the National Football League and Deshaun Watson.
00:43They gave him $230 million fully guaranteed to leave Houston and go to Cleveland.
00:51It's basically an extortion payment because nobody wanted to go to Cleveland and play.
00:56And they ended up bringing him there, and it has been an absolute train wreck having that Deshaun Watson contract.
01:05He has been injured the entire time.
01:07He doesn't even look remotely the quarterback that played for the Houston Texans when he was throwing up 4,500
01:13yards.
01:13And they were talking about him in the same breath as a Lamar Jackson.
01:18Will he be able to recoup that with Todd Munkin?

01:23It's going down as one of the worst contracts, if not the worst contract in NFL history.
01:30And then on the other hand, you have Shador Sanders.
01:34Now, look, I don't know if the kid's an NFL quarterback.
01:38I don't know if the kid's going to be able to take the pressure of being able to play at
01:42that position there in that city.
01:44But I can tell you one thing's for sure.
01:47His background being raised with his dad, Deion Sanders, obviously, is going to prep him for this opportunity.
01:55Shador is going to get a chance to play.
01:57Shador is going to get a chance and an opportunity to show whether or not he is an NFL-style
02:04quarterback.
02:04But here, here's the one thing you have to put when you're talking about the Cleveland Browns.
02:09The Cleveland Browns are like the New York Jets.
02:12If you're a quarterback in the NFL, these are places you go to die.
02:18Because they have not developed a quarterback in New York since Namath.
02:22They have not developed a quarterback since, like I said, the expansion team back in Cleveland.

02:34If you've got two things you're looking at right now in the NFL, you're looking at two franchises.

03:06You're talking about a guy who's negotiating a contract right now for 55 million bucks.
03:13Look, developing a quarterback has to be one of the most important things, if not the thing for a head

03:20Look, I've said this before.
03:22Head football coaches, I don't care how talented you are as a head coach.
03:27If you don't have the quarterback, it won't matter.
03:31If you don't have that position figured out, you can have one of the best rosters in all of football.
03:38But if you don't have that position for a head coach figured out, you're not going to win.
03:44Look at Bill Belichick at the end after Tom Brady left.
03:47Everyone looked and said, what's different with Bill Belichick?
03:50Nothing's different with Bill Belichick.
03:53Nothing.
03:54What was different was the roster.
03:55If you're not roster building and building around certain quarterbacks and their deficiencies, this all starts with the general manager.

04:06Places like Cleveland.
04:07Hey, look, organizations let down quarterbacks more than quarterbacks let down organizations.
04:15And they also let down head coaches.
04:17In today's profession, you know, back in the day when you had the Tony Dungies and you had the Bill
04:23Parcells and you had coaches like that,
04:25but my coach, Jimmy Johnson, they dealt with an iron fist.
04:29They were ahead of personnel.
04:31They were ahead of hiring of coaches.
04:33They were involved in the selection of the players.
04:37My coach, Jimmy Johnson, nothing went through his desk or on his desk without his approval.
04:43I don't care what that Netflix thing tells you that Jerry Jones was involved with.
04:47Jerry Jones had no say when it came to anything but signing checks.
04:52That's how they won in Dallas.
04:55Those days are long gone.
04:57You're more of a CEO type guy today because you've got so many people that you have to answer to.
05:02We had Coach Dungy on yesterday and I asked him, do you think it's tougher to coach in today's NFL
05:07than it was back in your day?
05:09He said, absolutely.
05:10We got more mouths to feed.
05:12And you got more people to answer for.
05:15So we'll see how this quarterback battle shapes out here in Cleveland.
05:20Will Sanders get an opportunity?

05:24Will Deshaun Watson get an opportunity to turn his career around?
