00:06and I love Bryce Miller. I think he's one of the more underrated starting pitchers. One of the
00:12really good starting pitchers. I usually don't expect a lot of runs in Seattle games. Number
00:18one, but when he's on a mound, I don't expect a lot of runs from whoever they're playing.
00:24They've hit better Texas as of late, but do we trust them to get to Bryce Miller here?
00:30I don't. I would be looking at the under seven and a half in this game and, you know,
00:35to your point, Bryce Miller, he's been awesome. Now, granted, it's a 63.1 inning sample size,
00:40so it's not the same as some of these other pitchers that have been pitching full year. But
00:45a couple of things about him. A 2.27 ERA is great. Obviously, ERA isn't the end all and be
00:50all. But
00:50if you look to his XERA, that's at 2.49. So he's right in line with that. Strikeout rate is
00:55at 29.5%.
00:56He walks no one. His walk rate is down at 4.1%, which is, I love to see. You're never
01:02allowing
01:02runners on base for free. You know, it gives up a few hits here or there, but having that high
01:07strikeout rate, he can get himself out of trouble. So even if he does give a walk or, you know,
01:12a single here or there, he can get himself out of trouble with a 30% strikeout rate.
01:15And to your point, the Mariners aren't scoring at all. And that park at Globe Life has actually
01:21been more of an underpark, more than I anticipated since they opened it. I thought it was going to be
01:25a decent hitter's park. We're talking about an under 7.5 for Mariners-Rangers.
01:31Yeah. And the big difference, too, is going to be what happens when the starting pitchers go out of
01:37this game because you've got Seattle, at least over the last week, top 10 bullpen. And they've
01:44actually been very good all year long, but Texas's bullpen is a hot mess. I mean, they're carrying
01:50almost a eight ERA over the last week. They can't get anybody out. They can't strike anybody out.
01:57So that means you're going to need Mackenzie Gore to give you a whole lot of innings here because
02:02once that bullpen comes in, yeah, all bets are off as far as Texas goes. And Seattle's a pretty
02:08cheap price, all things considered. They are. I still have my hopes about Seattle just because I
02:16think they are truly, they can be a contender because of their pitching staff. But that pitching
02:21staff can go toe-to-toe with any other team in the league. It's about making it to the playoffs.
02:25This is a very, very important series for both teams this weekend. But Seattle, close to even
02:30money, backing Bryce Miller in some capacity, I think is a good spot to look tonight. And listen,
02:34if it doesn't come through, it is what it is. But I think it's the right side to be on.
