00:00And then Seattle is doing exactly what we've been telling folks here.
00:04Cal Raleigh's telling everyone, yeah, I'm awful.
00:07No, we're very well aware how awful you are, as well as the rest of that team.
00:12And by the way, it ain't getting any better tonight here against Will Warren.
00:18Are they supposed to flip a switch, Seattle, somewhere that I missed at 56 and 64 in the season, Tom?
00:25No, they're just not a good team.
00:27I mean, that's just the offense isn't good enough.
00:30And when you relied last year so much on Cal Raleigh and the long ball to, you know, a rising
00:37tide lifts all ships type of scenario where players get on base, he hits a home run, he knocks him
00:42in via a double.
00:44That's great for the offense.
00:45But when he struggles, that can't be the turning point.
00:48One player can't be your entire offense.
00:50I would say it's about a lot of teams.
00:51But when he's struggling and Josh Naylor hasn't lived up to expectations and some of the young players that they
00:56have pulled up and gave extensions to, they haven't showed up.
00:59Like, the bottom is really, really lower.
01:01We should have viewed it as being very low for the Mariners.
01:04Even though their pitching staff's great, the offense is so, so inept.
01:09We can't possibly trust them to score runs or even do enough to win a series against a beatable opponent.
01:17Ugly, when I tell you ugly.
01:20And who'd have thunk it, really, that the American League East, Tampa, Yankees, and the Red Sox really are the
01:29class of the American League.
01:31Now, you figured the Yankees were going to be there.
01:34But, I don't know, what was your expectation for Boston heading into this year?
01:38It's one of the best turnaround stories that we have seen here.
01:42But I still think there's a lot of holes on this team.
01:45But they are by far, I just think, heads and tails over anything in the Central or the West at
01:51this point.
01:52I would take the Red Sox in a series, you know, in a playoff series against either of those.
01:56Against anybody, right?
01:57Yeah, from those divisions.
01:58I think it's, give me Red Sox, White Sox, Red Sox, Rangers.
02:02I think that's fine.
02:03You know, coming into the year, I think a lot of people were on the same page.
02:06Like, hey, it's going to be the Blue Jays, the Yankees up at the top of the division.
02:09The Red Sox, I think they were good enough to be a wild card team.
02:11You know, are the Rays going to be pesky?
02:13Can the Orioles bounce back?
02:14And, you know, some of that has come true.
02:16You know, the Yanks are in a playoff spot.
02:17The Rays are obviously unbelievable.
02:19They're torching teams right now.
02:21It really comes down to the Red Sox and what kind of form they're in.
02:24Because they are appearing to be an extremely streaky team.
02:27And if they can kind of right the ship and be hot the last two weeks of September,
02:31I would take them in a series going up against any other team from either of the other two divisions.
02:36And it's amazing to me how some of these teams, you know, 80% of the teams, Tom,
02:43they're terrible at home this year.
02:45Terrible in the American League at home.
02:47Terrible in the American League at home.
