00:00Hello everybody, I'm Martin Dixon from Leeds Bid and welcome to Trivial Pursuit Leeds 2026.
00:06We unleash the game of Trivial Pursuit right across Leeds City Centre.
00:10The six categories of questions are arrayed in different locations and here I am in the
00:15City Museum at the finale.
00:17So just like Trivial Pursuit, you will end up here in the middle of the game, answering
00:21your final question and hopefully getting it right.
00:23We want this to be fun, we want people to come into Leeds City Centre, enjoy themselves,
00:28maybe find different locations in the City Centre than they would normally go to.
00:32So you will find the question props in Wellington Place at the Royal Armouries, the Pawn Exchange,
00:37Trinity Victoria and the Merrion Centre.
00:39So walk around the City Centre, do it as quickly as you like or as slowly as you like.
00:43It doesn't cost anything to do Trivial Pursuit, you can come into this adventure three or four
00:48or five times during the school holiday and we hope it also gives people something to do.
00:52It's a really special place where whole families can come together, whether you're a
00:57child, a parent, a grandparent, groups of friends can come here and just have a very
01:03special experience.
01:05I've been wowed by the work that the Leeds Bid team have done.
01:08Tabletop gaming and board games is such a strong industry and we've really seen that strength
01:14come out in recent years and I think it's actually a really positive new story in the world.
01:20People are really still looking to come together, to connect, to socialise away from devices and
01:26have those experiences together.
01:27The process has been lots of fun, it's been brilliant.
01:32It feels amazing to ask a question from Leeds because I'm Leeds born and bred and I'm really
01:39made up.
01:40And the initial reaction coming in here today, it's actually phenomenal.
01:45It's like the middle of the game or the board game in real life.
01:50I love Leeds.
01:51It's amazing.
01:52There's lots of things to do.
01:53There's lots of theatres, there's the cinemas, there's good shopping, loads of things going
01:58on.
01:59This is going on all over the university.
02:02Everyone loves a quiz, so why not?
02:04In such an age of information overload, everyone has the ability to go on the internet and find
02:10out anything they want.
02:12But what Trivia Pursuit really does, and trivia in general, is have you kept that in your mind?
02:17Can you recall that information and put it into use?
02:20It's 400 years since Leeds became a city.
02:24And so we thought, well, how can we do that?
02:26So all the questions are about this city.
02:29People will know some of these answers really quickly, but people will learn things on this
02:33trail and that's what we hope as well.
02:35It's a real education to the people of this city about their city.
02:39Quite often, you know, FAPS learning has a bad reputation and what we're doing here,
02:45it's fun, it's amazing, you have the competitive element of it, you get to win prizes.
02:49So you're going on a fun experience, but also learning along the way.
02:53And, you know, that learning element is hidden amongst the fun, which is incredible.
