00:42I've dyed my hair the first time I think I was about 16, I got highlights.
00:46And then also I dyed my hair about a year ago, I did a pixie cut and then I dyed

00:53I want to dye my hair now because I'm ready for a change and why not?

01:11I am actually going to be debuting my new look at one of my best friend's baby showers in Atlanta,

01:23be glorified by my best friend because like, oh my god you changed your hair and my brother's
01:27just probably going to make fun of me because I have to see him as well so.
01:29I think that's what boys do, they just like to make fun of you, that's how they show love.
01:33In terms of like on the internet, I think I'm really excited to see what the internet thinks.

01:39My inspiration for my transformation today, I would say, hmm, myself but with bigger hair.

02:09So we're going to talk about colors because I know you want to do color,
02:13but let's first talk about texture.
02:16Do you want to keep your curly texture?

02:21These are extensions and in the back I have my actual hair out.

02:27I want it to look the same but just colored.
02:30So I have some colors for you to look at.

02:43What we're going to do first is, you know, do a light wash on your hair and detangle everything
02:46so that we can blow it out a little and get through it easily with the color.
02:58What products do you usually use?
03:00A lot of DevaCurl.
03:01Extensions, no extensions, all is very minimal.
03:03I don't like adding too many things to my hair.
03:06Deep conditioning every, at least once a week, two weeks max, adding more deep conditioning if it needs to be.
03:13I'm always, always searching for moisture, especially with curly hair.
03:17I actually want to use a couple of new products on you that are from Ulta Beauty.

03:23And they're all about moisture and recovering moisture and they're specifically for textured hair.
03:28So that's exciting.

03:49When my hair gets dry, it feels like the desert on your head.
03:54I think anyone wants their hair to be soft.
03:56When your hair is not, you definitely feel the difference.

04:21Okay, you take the color out of the hair by applying bleach.
04:26And then we put color back in with a toner.
04:29And the toner is what makes it the color that I want it to be.

04:36I've had my extensions for just a few months.
04:39The extension, I think, costs about $1,300.
04:43It's a lot of money for hair.
04:44It's an investment though, it's an investment.
04:47You can dye it, you can manipulate it.
04:48You can do pretty much whatever you want.

05:44And then the conditioner.

05:45I love that the conditioner is a little bit bigger.

05:53And then I used this We Did.
05:56It's a heat and humidity gel.
05:58That's why you're feeling so much more bounce.

06:21When you do dye your hair with natural hair, you need that much more moisture.
06:25So I'll definitely be using way more conditioner and taking care of my hair at home.
