00:00Hi, everybody.
00:01My name is Orion Carlotto, and welcome to My Sweet Digs.
00:04If you're new to Refinery29's channel,
00:06make sure to subscribe down below.
00:08It's house rules.
00:09You got to subscribe before I let you in.
00:11Also, if you have a VR headset, make
00:13sure to hit the VR button down below in the play bar
00:16so you can watch in virtual reality.
00:18All right, ladies and gentlemen, let's get this thing started.
00:27Welcome to my living area, or space, as I like to call it.
00:31I live with my girlfriend, Brittanelle,
00:33and it's just the two of us and her dog, Cauliflower.
00:36For our space, we pay $3,000 a month,
00:39and split in between the both of us is $1,500.
00:42I know that sounds like a lot, but we live in Los Angeles,
00:46so we're playing it cool here.
00:48We're playing it cool.
00:49I get to work from home.
00:50I'm my own boss.
00:51It's pretty cool.
00:53And working from home is awesome,
00:55because I never have to leave, and I
00:57can get out of bed whenever I want.
00:59This is my plant.
01:00I name all of my plants after writers.
01:02That right there is Ernest, after Ernest Hemingway.
01:07This right here is Jane, after Jane Austen.
01:10Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
01:12So this is my favorite piece in my apartment.
01:15It is my mustard yellow velvet couch.
01:18I've always wanted a velvet couch,
01:19and I feel like this screams me as a person.
01:21If I was a piece of furniture, I'd probably be this couch,
01:25without argument.
01:28Although it may look like a lot of my time is spent in the living space,
01:32the majority of it is spent in the bathroom, putting myself together,
01:35getting this face ready.
01:36Let's go check it out.
01:40Oh, hello.
01:41Didn't see you there.
01:42You found me in my absolute favorite part of my bathroom, and that is my bathtub.
01:47Because, one, I'm all about self-care, and two, I film a segment on my YouTube channel called Tub Talk,
01:54where I sit in a bathtub and give people advice.
01:56One of my favorite things, besides the bathtub in my bathroom, is the fact that my girlfriend and I both
02:02have our own separate sinks.
02:04We have our own ideas of clean, and it works out perfectly, because you can already tell my side's a
02:11bit more cluttered than hers.
02:12And now, the one that you guys have all been waiting for, probably wondering, you know, wow, how is her
02:19fashion sense so great?
02:21Well, I only spent 18 years in the closet to figure that out for myself, so let's go ahead and
02:26go on in and check it out.
02:29So, this blouse right here is a special statement piece that I am so obsessed with.
02:34It is hand-drawn, each individually, by an artist named Liz Demetria.
02:38It reminds me a lot of one of my favorite movies, Call Me By Your Name.
02:43Hello, Timothée Chalamet, if you're watching this.
02:45For me, fashion is a big part of my identity.
02:48I identify very strongly with polka dots and printed things, like floral designs and stuff, because I feel like it
02:55really shows who I am as a person.
02:58I draw a lot of my fashion inspiration personally from Parisian women, because I feel like they have a very
03:06healthy
03:08and admirable balance between masculine and feminine, which I, you know, aspire to be one day.
03:14Now, if it were up to me, we would be in my closet all day playing dress-up, but we
03:18just don't have the time for that.
03:19So, let's turn around and head over to my bedroom.
03:25And this is where the magic happens, and by magic, I mean my side table.
03:30I am obsessed with this.
03:32I love the juxtaposition of the marble and the wood.
03:35I think it looks amazing together, but most importantly, it holds my perfumes, candles, knickknacks.
03:41I am a huge jewelry wearer, especially earrings.
03:45I strongly believe in statement earrings, because they are great conversation starters, and they pull an outfit together entirely.
03:54Now you guys see our bed, but if you look a little bit down below, you will see a dog
03:58bed, and that belongs to Cauliflower.
04:00That is Brittonell's One-Eyed Pomeranian, and I love her as if she's my own.
04:04A lot of things you will find in our bedroom is made locally, like the bed frame is made from
04:10a local carpenter, all of the art is from a local artist that I got from the Melrose Trading Post,
04:15and also the duvet is also from a local business.
04:19The most sacred corner of the bedroom or the entire apartment, if I'm being completely honest, is my beautiful stack
04:25of literature right behind you.
04:27Here is a very small portion of my book collection.
04:30My absolute dream is to one day have my very own sweet dig, big enough to have a huge library
04:36with floor-to-ceiling, bookshelves covered to the brim, and books.
04:41That would be the dream.
04:43For me, I feel most motivated, you know, waking up in the morning when I have the sun basking in
04:49my face, and the entire apartment is just flooded with light.
04:53It makes me feel more at home.
04:55Now, there is one place that I have not shown you guys yet, and it is the kitchen.
05:00I personally love to cook, but more than cooking, I love to bake.
05:04So let's go ahead and turn around and head over.
05:09The three things I do the most in my kitchen is one, making coffee, two, crying into bowls of cookie
05:16dough ice cream, and three, collecting mugs.
05:19One of the house's favorite mugs is this one of Brent and Ella's pup, Cauliflower.
05:25It is the cutest thing in the world.
05:27It shows, you know, her constant wink, because she only has one eye.
05:32So cute.
05:33If I am not cooking pasta or stealing a recipe from Chrissy Teigen's cookbook, I am baking.
05:39And my most favorite thing to bake is these brownies.
05:43Come on, let's whisk up a good time.
05:45Moving to LA has been such a journey and, you know, getting accustomed to it and really making it feel
05:49like home.
05:50But I feel like I'm at the point now where I'm on the right track, and hopefully I can just
05:54keep going up from here.
05:55I also never really had a proper housewarming party, but you're here and I'm here.
06:00So I feel like this makes up for it.
06:03All right, guys.
06:03Have an awesome, beautiful, wonderful, rad rest of your day, and I will see you later.
06:08Bye.
06:15I'll see you later.
06:17Bye.
06:17Bye.
06:17Bye.
