00:00Hi I'm Kelly and this is my roommate Cheyenne and this is our temporary third roommate and foster
00:05puppy call. Welcome to our sweet digs. Before you come in, hit subscribe below. Come on in.
00:11We live in a two-bedroom loft in the Lower East Side. Our rent is $32.95 so we split
00:16it in half
00:16and each pay a little bit over $1,600. If you're not from Manhattan that probably sounds like way
00:21too much but if you live in Manhattan you know that it's really hard to find two bedrooms for
00:25much less than that. This apartment is 1,086 square feet. It's a renovated schoolhouse so each
00:30apartment in this building is a loft and it comes with a gym, a pool, laundry downstairs, and two
00:38private courtyards. This is our kitchen. We're big pasta people so a lot of times I'll cook chickpea
00:45pasta, black bean pasta. I make stuffed shells in the oven a lot. What else do I make like? Turkey
00:52burger?
00:55Coffee. She drinks coffee which I don't drink and really don't understand so already the fact
00:59that she has three cups a day is just like too much for me. A minimum. But in addition to
01:03that she
01:04leaves every single mug and glass that she could ever drink coffee out of on every surface in the
01:09apartment. This marble is actually all a giant adhesive sticker. It probably costs like less than
01:1550 bucks on Amazon. You just got rolls of contact paper and we spread it out here to make it
01:19look like
01:19we have marble countertops. The stools originally have just wood tops but we wanted them to match a
01:25little bit better with the apartment aesthetic so we just bought white rugs from Ikea and made DIY
01:30stool cushions. And then this is living area. One of our favorite parts of the apartment is just these
01:35huge almost floor-to-ceiling windows. This is my favorite piece of furniture going along with the
01:40marble theme and then the gold it's a really unique shape so it really adds some character to our
01:44apartment. It was around $500 from Wayfair. We've been fostering puppies for about a year and a half
01:50now. This is Call. Call Drogo is his full name if you watch Game of Thrones you'll get that. Kelly
01:55does
01:55not so she calls him cow cauliflower. He just lives with us until he's adopted as opposed to living in
02:01a shelter. We foster through different groups like Animal Lighthouse, Social Tees, and Muddy Paws. We have a
02:07puppy roughly once a month and they usually get adopted pretty quickly. It's a really great way to have a
02:12dog without really committing to having a dog because in the city it's really hard. And then this
02:16is the dining area. Personally I think it's my favorite part of the apartment just because it's
02:20really simple and mostly because of this table it's my favorite piece of furniture that we got. It's also
02:25the most expensive. It was about $800 from West Elm. And then this canvas is another DIY piece. We found
02:32one that we liked that we saw online and instead of buying it we just recreated it with spray paint
02:37and
02:37tape. And here's our half bathroom. This one we use to get ready in because we have more mirror space
02:42here we have a Prada sign. We were obsessed with Gossip Girl. One of the main characters had it in
02:48her apartment so instead of spending hundreds of dollars on it Cheyenne just painted it so it looks
02:52the same. And this is our second bathroom, the full one with the shower. We also did more of the
02:59marble DIY stuff in here similar to how we did our kitchen countertops. This is all just like an
03:03adhesive sticker to make it look like marble tiles and same with the bathroom countertop. This is the
03:08entryway to the second floor of the apartment where both of our bedrooms are. We put adhesive
03:13banana leaf wallpaper up and then a neon sign on top of that that says stay while. The one downside
03:19of lofts is that neither of us have a full four walls for our bedrooms so we don't have doors
03:24and
03:24there's a lot of blank walls so we can hear each other really easily and I think for a lot
03:28of people
03:28that might be a deal breaker but our first apartment we actually shared a one-bedroom in
03:33the Upper East Side and we had bunk beds before moving here so to us this is a lot of
03:37privacy.
03:38It could kind of be a potential issue if you're dating someone or whatnot but just always give
03:43each other a heads up when we have people over. Is this a good time to tell you that I
03:46have a date
03:47tonight and I'm probably having someone stay here? This is my bedroom right here. I really centered the
03:53decor around my cowhide rug and the bed frame so I'm really into neutral colors with hints of pink from
04:01separate rooms usually every night when we're both in bed we talk to each other. Shy, shy, shy. Still
04:10here Kelly she will do that when I'm sleeping really early in the morning when I get home really late
04:15I think she's just like checking that I'm there because she can't see me like she used to in the
04:18bunk beds. Here if I want to get to my clothes in the back I kind of have to like
04:22scooch down or crawl
04:25the back but we kind of made it easy to access everything. And then my bedroom's on this side I
04:31would describe my bedroom as pretty soft in terms of like the color palette and then I really just
04:36tried to keep furniture to a minimum. Hi! In the next apartment like the one change I would want for
04:41a
04:41bedroom is obviously real walls with a door that can close um no offense Kelly. No! Cheyenne is definitely
04:47the messier roommate. My room gets messy with my clothes but Kelly leaves things over every other
04:53part of the apartment outside of her bedroom which I don't do. And she also chews loud. Kelly just
04:58has like a weird phobia of anyone chewing. I sound like a freak. Cheyenne and I met in college we
05:03both
05:03went to school in Maryland and we met through an internship. I kind of hated Kelly at first because
05:10she showed up really late our first day because she didn't have a car. Our new boss just offered me
05:14to start driving Kelly to the internship every day so I had to go out of my way to her
05:19school and pick
05:19her up but we obviously became really close through all those car rides. I think we work really well
05:24together as roommates because we also became really close friends um no best friends start over. We
05:29work really well together as roommates because we also became best friends. We started out as roommates
05:33and then like had a great time together as roommates and we can became friends as opposed to trying to
05:38live with your best friend. I think we really balance each other out. We both have independent schedules
05:43but always hang out and have mutual groups of friends. All in all we really love the apartment. Kelly loves
05:49it
05:49so much that she jokes that when we get married our husbands are just going to buy a second apartment
05:54in this same building because she never wants to leave. Let us know in the comments if you think
05:57you could live in loft bedrooms with your best friend. Thanks for checking out our sweet digs. We hope you
06:07love this place as much as we do. If you want to watch more videos click here. And if you
