00:00Hi, I'm Rachel and this is Roxy. Welcome to My Sweet Digs, but before coming in
00:04make sure you subscribe below. My apartment is about a thousand square feet.
00:09It's a one and a half bed, one bathroom, and I pay $47.50 a month for it. I think
00:15the price is totally worth it because this building has so many amenities.
00:18There's a doorman, there's pool, steam room, gym, and you have this view which
00:23is incredible. You definitely get a lot for what you're paying for. This is my
00:27front alcove when you first walk into my apartment. It's nice to have this extra
00:30space. There's also this dip in the wall and I was thinking it'd be perfect for my
00:34wardrobe and my shoes. So I made this custom IKEA like wardrobe piece which
00:39really helps me with like my everyday. And then I have the mirror right here
00:43right before I go out the door in the morning. Now we're going to the kitchen.
00:48Well my kitchen I really like about it how it's super clean and it's very big.
00:52It's like perfect size. I'm a very social person. I always have friends around,
00:56I'm always hanging out with people and this is honestly like the perfect place
00:59to have people over. So I set up like all the doors like right here and wine,
01:04cheese, all of that. My bar cart is right there. I realized when you guys came here
01:08I didn't restock it with wine but it's just a cute little bar cart over here that
01:12has all of my wines on it and some lickers for entertaining. My secret to
01:16keeping my apartment tidy is trying to minimize clutter which it's hard for me but I
01:20managed to do it and always clean up after yourself because if you don't clean up
01:24after yourself it's still going to be there and it's going to be even more
01:26messy so you might as well just clean up after yourself. My apartment pet peeves
01:29number one everyone that knows me that knows me well knows this is my biggest
01:34thing. Cabinets open don't leave any cabinets open. What's the point of that
01:37there isn't a point. My friends come over and they leave the cabinets open
01:40purposely and I'm just like you just really trying to like piss me off right
01:44now aren't you. There's a spatula in my kitchen so I was walking with my
01:48girlfriend down the street we were talking about like deep conversations of life how
01:51quickly it goes and things can happen like this. Out of nowhere this spatula
01:56flies out of nowhere and skims me right right on the nose straight in front of
02:01me and it came down really hard to land on our feet and we were just like did that
02:05just happen? Did someone just throw a spatula at us? We have no idea where I came
02:07from. So just one of those weird freak things that like you know I'm gonna bring
02:11this home put in my kitchen and I put the date in the back of it so that kind of
02:14stuff is like how I collect things. And then this is my living room. I love most about
02:19this space is my couch and where I'm sitting literally right now. I can see
02:23the Freedom Tower and the water and all the ferries coming up so this is really
02:26kind of like the sweet spot where I'm sitting right now. My home style. Eclectic,
02:31sort of vintage, I guess a little feminine, a little strange. Corky. Corky is the word.
02:38Corky. I think the importance of having plants in your apartment especially
02:42living in New York City you don't see much green like ever because it's concrete
02:46jungle. So I like bringing life into here and having things that are growing and
02:50I just feel like it gives it more of a homey vibe to it and I'm just I'm just a
02:54plant lover. I am an actress and model for full time for living. I think for sure
02:59it's influenced the way I live in my home. I've always been around really amazing
03:01people, really cool things and I kind of just brought this into my home and made it
03:07kind of mine. I'm in the creative business. It just brings it to the whole dark vibe
03:10into here as well. Another like hobby actually I have is antiquing. I just get
03:14random things and I'm like oh this will look good and I was at this thrift shop
03:17and these gold spoons are insane. Every letter in the alphabet it could have been
03:21any letter. R. It was like my initial on them. Obviously you have these. These are
03:26made for me. So yeah that was kind of a really amazing find. I got super excited.
03:30This apartment is a huge step up. A because no one's lived in this unit. My
03:33first apartment I moved into it was a walk up and I was living in like it wasn't
03:37like the best place but one day I woke up with a cockroach dead cockroach my bed I was
03:41like oh maybe it's time to move now. And then my second apartment I'm like what
03:46is that? I'm like what's what is that noise? I heard this like chirping noise
03:50behind the oven. There was dead mice behind my oven I'm like oh my god there's
03:54beans like there's one there's a bunch. I found a hole in the bottom of my wall
03:57the mice chewed through. I'm not kidding the hole in the wall was like this big.
04:01So I've had some horror stories at each of one of my apartments. None here so I think
04:05this is the winner for sure. Then this way is my bedroom. Honestly I didn't really have a vibe.
04:11I'm going for this room. I just wanted to be really clean and kind of crisp just
04:15simple. No clutter. I actually collect a lot of perfumes and sunglasses and
04:21jewelry. Basically everything.
04:27These are really ugly lamps next to my bed. These are like scarves. I wear them
04:31sometimes when I have a cool look on. And so maybe these look cute over here so I
04:35just threw them on top of there and it gives it like a total different vibe.
04:37Especially at night it's like gives off like homey relaxed tint. New York it's
04:41really cold obviously in the winter time so you'll see I have a ton of
04:44sweatshirts and sweaters in my closet but I have them all stacked up above and
04:48they're like very orderly fashion so you can see everything when I'm about to
04:51take it out. I just know exactly where everything is. Dresses on the left with
04:54everything long going down as shirts and other things. A lot of storage in this
04:58apartment which is amazing. I've been living in New York now for like eight
05:00years so I've collected a lot of things. Storage is like massive. I have especially with
05:05industry I'm in. I have a lot of clothes. And then here's my bathroom where I spend
05:09also a lot of my time where I get ready in the morning. I don't really dislike
05:11anything in my bathroom. It's really well lit and there's there's three
05:15massive mirrors in there. You pull them open and all my beauty products are in
05:18there. Beauty must-haves that I have in my bathroom. Spritz, face spritz so like
05:22throughout the day to refresh your face. Rosehip oil. I know it's a super
05:26random but this oil I put on probably like every night and it just I wake up the
05:29next morning feeling so glowing and fresh. A really good eye cream. Some retinol and
05:34always a moisturizer. I think right when I walked in this apartment I knew this is
05:37like the one as they say. The one. My next dream apartment even though I love this
05:41one would probably be exposed brick in like a lofty kind of vibe. So my bed's up
05:47above and then kitchen everything down below so I walk up some stairs. But
05:51exposed brick probably would be my next one.
