00:01I am soaking wet because I just got out of a giant bowl of Cheerios, and I have
00:09no idea what just happened.
00:21I care very much what I look like when I bathe.
00:24This is Link.
00:25Bath clothes on.
00:26This is Rhett.
00:27Their show, Good Mythical Morning, is the most watched daily show online.
00:32No big deal.
00:33Best friends since the first grade, they went to school to become engineers and then quit
00:37after graduation to create internet content full time.
00:41We joined them while they were shooting the cover for their upcoming book.
00:46We get to make an internet show for a living, so we're going to do things like bathe in
00:50weird things.
00:52I do things that I only wished I could do as a kid.
00:58Hey guys, we're here with Rhett and Link from Good Mythical Morning, and we're talking
01:02about their upcoming book, Rhett and Link's Book of Mythicality.
01:06You turn Pop-Tarts into spaghetti, you shower and eat oranges.
01:11What does that say about who you guys are?
01:16I want to teach anyone who watches it, as long as it's not hurting yourself or somebody
01:20else, what's the harm in trying it?
01:24The whole idea behind the concept of why we're in the bowl, on the cover, is because that
01:31is something that we did as part of our show.
01:34We took a bath in cereal.
01:41We've taken a bath in ranch dressing, and chicken noodle soup, and various other substances
01:47that you shouldn't take a bath in.
01:50What is the best advice that you give in the book?
01:52How we wish that we would stop and celebrate more, that we wouldn't go from one project
01:57to the next so quickly, without stopping to appreciate the moment.
02:02In the chapter called Embrace Immaturity, which is something that I think if you watch
02:07our show, you know we have embraced pretty thoroughly.
02:09I love it! I love it!
02:13We talk about the idea that, yeah, you gotta grow up, you gotta be an adult, you gotta have
02:18responsibility, but you gotta have a part of yourself that doesn't grow up.
02:21You gotta have a part of yourself that is willing to jump into a bowl of cereal.
02:25It feels so good.
02:28So, here I am, watching these two guys who have a pretty cool approach to life, and I realized,
02:34if there was ever a moment to dive right in, this was it.
02:37So I did. I mean, how could you not?
02:42The behind the scenes thing with the Cheerio Bowl was so out of the ordinary for me.
02:47I mean, I like to think of myself as a risk taker, but yeah, that was a little bit unusual.
02:54But it paid off. I think once you got in there, you were like, this is worth it.
02:59It was worth it. I wasn't exactly prepared. I mean, white jeans.
03:04But, how could I not get into the bowl of Cheerios?
03:07You'll never say, hey, remember that time I almost got into that bowl of cereal with those guys?
03:12Right? That's not a story worth telling.
03:14Yeah. No.
03:14You gotta make those kinds of decisions.
03:16If the opportunity arrives, take it and dive into a bowl of cereal.
03:21I don't blame you, though. It's actually really nice.
03:23Our motto is, be your mythical best, which loosely meant just embrace the best about yourself and take risks and
03:31be creative, have fun.
03:33But when we sat down to be like, well, let's kind of define what it is that we're saying is
03:38mythical,
03:38and the definition came out to be essentially a combination of curiosity, creativity, and tomfoolery.
03:45We try to never get to a place where we're taking ourselves so seriously that we can't laugh at ourselves.
03:49We can't make fun of ourselves. Even as we're trying to be creative, we're gonna have fun.
03:54We want to make each other laugh, and mythicality kind of embodies all that together.
03:58If you're gonna jump in the bowl of cereal, A, do it. B, go all the way under.
04:03But C, don't forget to come back up before you breathe.
04:06And D, pre-order our book, BookOfMythicality.com.
04:10Do that.
