00:02Dear, dear New York, you're New York. Oh, we're here in New York. It's New York.
00:11Hi, I'm Annie. And I'm Tess. And we just worked out. But now I don't know what to do with
00:17my hair.
00:18But I have an idea. I'm going to show you how to get two awesome hairstyles with your after-gymphong
00:23tail.
00:23You're so handy, and you guessed it. This is the hair tutorial episode of Dear New York.
00:28Things you will need. Dry shampoo, bobby pins, hair ties, and maybe a comb.
00:35So we're starting with our hair already in a ponytail. And one thing I like to do is use dry
00:40shampoo if you need to.
00:41Sometimes when you sweat, your hair can get greasy. So I spray it here or I'll spray it in my
00:45ponytail.
00:46Yes, thank you.
00:49So you're going to separate your ponytail into three pieces, and you're basically just going to do a three-strand
00:55braid.
00:55So all you're going to do is take the three pieces and start braiding all the way down.
01:00Once you've finished your braid, you're basically just going to pull on the sides of the braid pieces just to
01:04flatten it a little bit and make the braid appear larger.
01:07Then you're going to take the braid and wrap it around itself around your ponytail, and then pin it with
01:12bobby pins.
01:14Voila, it's done.
01:16For the second one, we're also starting with our hair in a ponytail.
01:20Then for a fishtail, it can be kind of confusing, but all you have to do is separate it into
01:24two pieces,
01:25and then take strands of hair on the outward sides of each piece and bring it into the center, connecting
01:30it with the other side.
01:31So all you really have to do is take a section from the outside, bring it in the inside, and
01:35then switch pieces until you get all the way down.
01:37Don't worry, I was confused at first, too.
01:40Once the fishtail braid is complete, I like to pull strands on the side of it just to give it
01:44more of a flat appearance and mess it up a little bit so it doesn't look so uniform.
01:48Then all you have to do is secure with the ponytail.
01:51With the strand that you left out beforehand, you're going to basically wrap it around the ponytail and secure it
01:56with a bobby pin to hide the ponytail and make it look more polished.
02:00You can also braid this strand and wrap it around so it looks like a fishtail is coming out of
02:04a little braid.
02:05You look great.
02:06No, you look great.
02:07No, you look great.
02:08You look great.
02:09Oh, no, you look great.
02:10No, you look great.
02:11You look great.
02:12Okay, I look great.
