In our second episode of Face To Face with Microsoft, beauty vlogger Casey Holmes shows Refinery29 photo director Sarah McDowell how to turn a light, shimmery nude eyeshadow into a multitasking highlighter. Just blend the powder on top of your cheekbones, along the nose bridge and Cupid's bow, and on the forehead and chin — and voilà.

00:11Hey, I'm Sarah from Refinery29, and I'm here today with Casey Holmes, who's a YouTube makeup
00:17extraordinaire.
00:18Hey, Casey.
00:19Hey, Sarah.
00:20So today I have a couple of summer trends that I think will be fun to talk about and
00:24show you.
00:25So the first one, we can do an highlighted look using the eye shadow, so it's kind of
00:30a multi-purpose look, or we could use a mascara and use it as a brow gel.
00:34So what do you think you would want to try out today?
00:36I like the idea of using the eye shadow as a highlighter.
00:39Okay, yeah, that'd be really pretty for summer, too.
00:41So do you happen to have an eye shadow on hand that you would want to use?
00:44Yeah, I have some great shimmery shadow here in front of me.
00:47Okay, perfect.
00:48All you need is like a little fluffy brush and you'll be good to go.
00:50Yeah, I have a fluffy brush.
00:51We'll see how good I am with that first, and then I might go to my finger.
00:55Okay, perfect.
00:56So all you want to do is just take your eye shadow, and then you just want to put your
01:00brush into it, and then you're just going to dust it on the tops of your cheekbones,
01:04so right where the light's just going to sit and hit you right there.
01:07So just like right where the top of my cheekbone, and then...
01:10Yep, right above your blush.
01:12And then after that, you just want to put it right on the bridge of your nose, just going
01:15straight down.
01:16And do...
01:16Am I rubbing it in, too?
01:17Whichever way you want.
01:18You could brush it on and then tap it in to really melt it into the skin, or you could
01:22just dust it if you're in a hurry.
01:24Okay.
01:24You want to take it right there on your cupid's bow, right there where the little arches are
01:29on your lips.
01:29I like that it's called cupid's bow.
01:31I know.
01:31It makes it sound really, really fancy.
01:34And so why am I putting it in these places?
01:36This is really just going to bring more dimension and just really highlight different features
01:40of the face.
01:41Because most people we contour and highlight, so this one will really just bring a nice glow
01:45to your skin.
01:45And then what you're going to do is just put it on your chin and forehead and then you
01:49should be set.
01:50Yeah.
01:51I like it.
01:52It looks great.
01:53I can definitely see it on my cheekbone the most, and I like it.
01:56Yeah.
01:56The cheekbone is definitely my favorite, especially at night time.
01:59When you tilt your head, it just catches it perfectly.
02:02Well, thank you so much, Kasey.
02:03I really appreciate you taking the time and being here with us with Refinery.
02:06I think that this is going to be such a great look.
02:09I'm definitely going to try it out tonight, and I'll let you know how it goes.
02:12Awesome.
02:12Thank you so much, Sarah.
