00:00Sometimes I'll look at an image and be like,
00:01my teeth are looking a little yellow,
00:03and then I'm just like, I'ma fix that.
00:08See this?
00:09Not real.
00:11Facetune. Teeth whitened.
00:12Airbrushed.
00:13I had stubble.
00:14Lots of makeup, lots of hair.
00:15Lots of Facetune.
00:17Studies show that the more mainstream media
00:19women and young girls consume,
00:20the more unhappy we are with our bodies.
00:23Which is crazy.
00:24To make your boobs look good in a photo,
00:26you have to be a contortionist or an orangutan.
00:29And I'm not doing that.
00:30What you guys don't realize is that 99% of the images
00:34in your daily newsfeed are retouched or Facetuned
00:38or afterlighted or whatever other filters there are.
00:41I don't know, I lost track.
00:43Facetune?
00:44Okay, in defense of Facetune,
00:46sometimes I think it helps me express the way I'm feeling
00:50versus the way I was looking.
00:53Airbrushing.
00:54Number one, don't spend so much time lurking on social media.
00:58These images are unattainable.
01:00Stop it.
01:01Number two, they're unattainable.
01:03Stop it.
01:04They're retouched.
01:05They are not you.
01:06They're not even me.
01:07They're not even them.
01:09So stop looking.
01:10Everybody has a natural bend here, but I smoothed it.
01:13You can see the joyful laugh lines in my forehead,
01:17but I attempted to airbrush them out.
01:21Sometimes when I look at those images on Instagram,
01:23I forget that they're not real
01:25and it makes me feel a whole lot worse about myself.
01:29So ladies, let's not spend so much time looking through
01:32Instagram and Twitter and comparing ourselves.
01:34Let's put our phones down, look in the mirror, and love ourselves.
01:38Let's go!
