00:03Hey, what's up, guys? Welcome to Dimension. I'm Serena.
00:05I'm Emily.
00:06And I'm Sojourner, and this is your weekly roundup of everything pop culture lovers have been buzzing about this week.
00:11Now, ladies, before we spill the tea, we have a very special guest joining us today.
00:16She's a Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter.
00:20Please welcome Megan Chiu!
00:23Hey, girl!
00:24I'm so excited!
00:26Yes!
00:26We are talking about her new single, No Excuses,
00:29and so, Megan, today we are drinking a little Champagne Problems.
00:33Okay.
00:34Cheers, ladies!
00:36Cheers, so cute!
00:38Good morning!
00:39Here we go!
00:40Great start to the day.
00:41Oh, yeah.
00:42This is how we start our mornings.
00:43Yes, it is.
00:44You're on the mention!
00:45So, Megan, No Excuses is such a fun, upbeat song,
00:49and you said it's kind of like your version of R-E-S-P-E-C-T.
00:52Which is respect.
00:52Find out what it means to me, okay?
00:54Find out, yes!
00:56Where did you get the inspiration for this song?
00:58Personal experience.
00:59You know, in this industry.
01:01You're in the industry, you know, just being on TV
01:03and being in the spotlight.
01:05A lot of people talk to you.
01:06A lot of older adults talk to you, too,
01:10that tell you, like, you don't know what you're talking about,
01:13and sometimes you get frustrated,
01:15and you just want to yell these words.
01:17So, instead, I put it in a nice, polite song,
01:19and I also made it a fun bop
01:21that the families can play in the household.
01:23We were bopping at our job!
01:25We've been bopping all morning.
01:26We were absolutely obsessed.
01:28We love the video.
01:28Thank you!
01:28It's very R29 vibe.
01:30Thank you!
01:30We love the cinematography, the color,
01:32your orange eyeliner.
01:33We were all...
01:34You know what's crazy?
01:35That was yellow.
01:36What?
01:37Isn't that crazy?
01:38Yeah, and they put a filter on it.
01:39And I was like,
01:40it's better orange, it's better orange!
01:42It's sick!
01:43It looks amazing!
01:44It's so good!
01:44We love the music.
01:45We've always loved your music.
01:46And how has it evolved in the past couple of years?
01:48Ah, mature, I guess.
01:49I don't know, I'm learning so much in life,
01:51and I'm talking more about my personal experiences,
01:54and after what Bass did,
01:56and all those songs that talked about my insecurities,
01:59I saw how it affected the world
02:00and helped a lot of girls out there,
02:02and a lot of everyone out there.
02:04And so I was like,
02:05okay, if three minutes can save a life or help someone,
02:07let's do 100 three-minute songs, you know?
02:10Yeah.
02:10Yes.
02:10Now, on the topic of your music,
02:13you've done some amazing collaborations with John Legend.
02:16You even flipped that song
02:17and sang it live with Nathan Sykes.
02:19You've worked with Yo Gotti.
02:20Who are some other artists
02:21that you've been dying to get into the studio with?
02:23I'm dying to work with Britney Spears.
02:25Oh!
02:27I'm sorry about that.
02:28Yes!
02:28I was like, yes to that.
02:30You know what I'm saying?
02:30Yeah, I grew up with that.
02:31That was my star.
02:33I love her.
02:33Hot Britney, come on.
02:34But also, like, the obvious,
02:36like Justin Timberlake,
02:37if you're watching her,
02:37hi, let's write.
02:39Brittle Mars.
02:40I've been talking about him
02:41for every interview.
02:42Oh, I can see that.
02:43That's a good dynamic.
02:44You know what I'm saying?
02:44That's a fun dynamic.
02:45Yeah, yeah, yeah.
02:47Yes.
02:48And so also, this week,
02:50you announced your partnership with Zumba,
02:51which we've been dancing all morning, truly.
02:54We got the moves down.
02:54But you have an exclusive choreography video with Zumba.
02:57How cool is this?
02:58So, so sad.
03:00Hi, Dina.
03:00Okay, and coming from a Zumba lover,
03:02me and my mom used to take those classes,
03:03I absolutely love this collaboration.
03:06How did it come about?
03:07Oh, my gosh.
03:07This, I mean,
03:09I didn't know it looked this cool, honestly.
03:10I thought like an iPhone would film it.
03:12I walked in, I was like,
03:12oh, this is a music video.
03:13No, this is not a music video.
03:14I gotta get good.
03:16Zumba's been supporting my music since day one.
03:18They're such a great workout class
03:20that always plays my pop songs in space.
03:23So I, and I, in the gym,
03:25I walked by their class and they're like,
03:26oh, my God, it's my song.
03:28And run away.
03:29And I was too shy to take one.
03:30But this was my first Zumba class
03:32and they're all over the world.
03:35Like the universe, I think,
03:37has Zumba everywhere.
03:38Yeah, it's a cult.
03:39Yeah, it's a cult.
03:40And so we thought like,
03:41let's make a sick music video
03:43and a dance for everyone to learn
03:44because my fans always love choreo
03:47and they love learning my dance moves.
03:49Yeah.
03:49So we thought this would be
03:50a really fun way to do it
03:51and it was
03:52and it was the smartest thing we ever did
03:54and I'm so happy we did it.
03:56And Zumba's just been so nice to me
03:57and they keep posting videos
03:59and tagging me
04:00and I keep like reposting videos I see.
04:03Oh, my back fell down.
04:05It's been so fun to watch.
04:06I'm going to be like the coolest girl at the party
04:08when your song comes on
04:09and I'm out there busting out choreography.
04:14I have to ask,
04:15coming from a video producer standpoint,
04:16I love the layers
04:17where you're adding all the different dancers in.
04:19How many times did you have to do
04:21that sequence of dance to get that?
04:22We did that.
04:23That was all Charm LaDonna.
04:24She's my creative director.
04:25She's amazing.
04:26She had the idea of bringing,
04:27those are some dancers I've worked with
04:29throughout all my videos.
04:30So I was like,
04:31hey girls,
04:32like family reunion.
04:33And then we had two amazing Zumba dancers
04:35and they were nervous.
04:36They were like,
04:37we're not professional dancers.
04:38I was like,
04:38you look right.
04:39Let's do it.
04:39Right, right.
04:40But we did that maybe 10, 15 times.
04:43Yeah, a whole song
04:45and I was dying.
04:47Guys,
04:48I'm starting to sweat.
04:49She's doing it together again.
04:51That's what it is.
04:51I was like,
04:52this really works.
04:53This is like a real workout.
04:55Emily and I were out of breath
04:56off of like the first round.
04:57So I can only imagine.
04:58I'm like,
04:59let's go.
05:00I was winded.
05:02Oh man,
05:02you still look great doing it though.
05:03I thought so too.
05:04I was like,
05:05dang,
05:05my makeup was still on.
05:06It was.
05:07Nice,
05:07do we go?
05:08Now aside from your music
05:09and aside from Zumba,
05:10you were a co-judge
05:11on Fox's New Reality Show before.
05:13How was that experience
05:15in working alongside P. Diddy,
05:16DJ Khaled,
05:17and Charlie Walk?
05:18I still feel like
05:19it didn't happen.
05:20It was like such a dream come true.
05:21It was crazy.
05:22It was only six days of work,
05:24but those six days were
05:2518-hour days.
05:27Like the longest days
05:28I've ever had.
05:29But I learned so much
05:30from sitting next to Diddy
05:31and Khaled
05:32and working with Fergie too.
05:35She's such a dream.
05:36Aw, Fergie.
05:37Fergie on the mission.
05:38She's so nice to me.
05:39One time I had to take a break
05:41because I couldn't stop.
05:42You know when you cry
05:43and you can't get your breath
05:43so you're not going to go like,
05:44oh yeah, oh yeah.
05:45I was like,
05:46oh, I'm not going to do this on TV.
05:47I'm going to take five.
05:48And she ran off stage
05:49in her heels
05:50and came at me
05:52with the biggest hug ever
05:53and I'll never forget that
05:54my whole life.
05:55And my mom yelled at me like,
05:56Fergie's running behind you.
05:58Turn around.
05:59So you're turning around like,
06:00yeah.
06:00I thought you'd hear your mom say,
06:01Fergie's running behind you.
06:02I know.
06:02Everything we did.
06:03Like my mom was my assistant
06:04for that show
06:05and she would always bring up tissues
06:06and Listerine strips
06:07and she ended up
06:10like helping Diddy a lot
06:11and I was like,
06:11yo, you're Diddy's assistant.
06:14And she was like,
06:14what am I doing?
06:15Handing up tissues.
06:16Put that on your resume.
06:19Every moment was like,
06:20why are we here?
06:20What's going on?
06:21We'll be loved you
06:22as a judge on the fashion show.
06:23You're a fan favorite
06:24all the way.
06:26You're a fan favorite.
06:26I just loved watching
06:27The Dreams Come True too.
06:28I'm too emotional for that.
06:29Like, oh,
06:30I was crying every episode
06:31and then saying goodbye to people.
06:33I mean, that was tough.
06:35On a more serious note,
06:36I know you underwent
06:37a second vocal surgery
06:38and it required you not be able
06:39to speak for a little while
06:41or for months.
06:42Months, yeah.
06:42How did you get through
06:43something like that
06:44and how do you continue
06:45to practice self-care?
06:46That was a tough one.
06:47That was a lot of moments
06:49alone with my thoughts.
06:50Even if I was with my family
06:52and comforted by my fiance,
06:54but my boyfriend at the time,
06:55I went into my head a lot
06:57because I canceled
06:58a lot of radio shows
07:00and those are ones
07:01you don't cancel on
07:02because you're told
07:04or you're here like
07:05they're never going to play
07:06your music ever again.
07:07And I was like,
07:08no, this is my second album only.
07:10Like, I have so much more
07:11to put out.
07:13Like, they'll never play me again.
07:15Everything I ever worked for
07:16is gone, you know?
07:18And you wonder
07:19if your voice will come back.
07:20If you talk in the first week
07:22on accident,
07:22like I watched the Grammys
07:24and I screamed like,
07:26ah!
07:26But it was like,
07:27bleh!
07:29And you're just like,
07:30oh my God,
07:31that's what I'm going to sound like
07:31for the rest of my life.
07:32Like, you have moments of terror.
07:34And I did so much of that
07:36that I pushed myself
07:37into a bad zone of anxiety
07:40and I didn't know
07:40it could cripple your body.
07:42And they told me
07:43my chemicals were all unbalanced
07:44and I was like,
07:45in the red zone
07:46because I told them like,
07:47my back is burning
07:48and I constantly am sick
07:50and I have a fever
07:51all of a sudden
07:51and my throat's closing
07:52and they're like,
07:53yep, that's just anxiety.
07:54And I was like,
07:55that's crazy.
07:56So, went to a lot of doctors,
07:57figured it out
07:58and got through it.
08:00And now I'm here
08:01and I'm better than ever
08:02and I'm healthier.
08:03I work out.
08:05Yeah.
08:06I'm getting better.
08:08Yeah, it helps me
08:10hearing other people
08:11talk about it.
08:11Like, my older brother
08:12talked about his
08:13and I was like,
08:14oh, this makes me feel so good.
08:16Yeah.
08:17Now, you mentioned
08:17your boyfriend
08:18who is now fiance.
08:20Congratulations!
08:21Do you see the rock?
08:24I locked it down.
08:25Yes!
08:26I was like,
08:26I'm not going nowhere.
08:28It's mine forever.
08:29Now, you mentioned
08:30in interviews
08:31that like maybe
08:31about a week
08:32before you even met him
08:33you were in an Uber
08:34crying just like,
08:35where is the love of my life?
08:36I know he's out there.
08:37Like, where is he?
08:38Do I feel you on that?
08:39Yeah, I'm very like,
08:42I've noticed
08:43sometimes it's crazy
08:44like when you cry
08:45to the universe
08:46or something.
08:47I get what I want.
08:49It's crazy.
08:50Can you cry more?
08:51I'm about to say,
08:51if you don't need to yell out
08:52or you're in a team
08:53say out loud what you want.
08:54My parents were always like,
08:55if you stop looking,
08:56he'll come.
08:57That didn't happen for me.
08:58I'm always looking.
09:01I never stopped looking.
09:02I was looking everywhere.
09:03I'm a hopeless romantic
09:04and I was like,
09:05he's around the corner.
09:06I can tell he's close.
09:07He's just messing up.
09:08And I always say that
09:09in interviews.
09:10I was like,
09:10I know you're fooling around
09:11right now,
09:11but I'll see you soon.
09:12Right.
09:13I'm ready for you.
09:14And he always says like,
09:15I wasn't ready for you.
09:16Like, I needed to figure out
09:17my life and I'm so glad
09:20we met when we met
09:20and it's just perfect.
09:22And week one,
09:23we were both like,
09:24oh, I want you forever.
09:25Oh my God.
09:26And like that cheesy saying
09:28where everyone's like,
09:29you just know and you know,
09:29it's real.
09:30That's a real thing.
09:31Because you don't,
09:32you don't have that connection
09:33with any other human.
09:35Like I've never felt
09:36what we have
09:37with any other soul
09:38in the entire world.
09:39It's crazy.
09:40Don't give me hope.
09:41Well, on that note,
09:43Megan,
09:43thank you so much
09:44for joining us today.
09:45I honestly have that feeling
09:46with you.
09:47Right.
09:47I feel like we're slow sisters.
09:49Like I feel like we can do this
09:50Yes, I can do this.
09:51Like once a week.
09:52Let's go.
09:52Come on to the end show.
09:54Yeah, yeah, yeah.
09:55Wedding.
09:55I have no plans right now.
09:56I don't know what I'm doing.
09:57Okay, well we'll be there.
09:58Yeah, you'll be there.
09:59I thought you'll have a list of them.
10:01Yay, I'll just like to do it.
10:02I will have a list of them.
10:04I love you guys.
10:05We're here to go.
10:06Thanks for the chat.
10:07You guys can check out
10:07No Excuses on YouTube.
10:10Stream it.
10:10Live it.
10:11Love it.
10:11It's so good.
10:12We're all about it.
10:13It is a bop.
10:14We miss you already.
10:15And you should.
10:16Two guys.
10:18Oh, how great.
10:19She's amazing.
10:20She's her energy.
10:21Oh my God.
10:22She's just so cool.
10:23I feel like she could just sit with us on The Mention every single week too.
10:26All right, y'all.
10:27It's time to spill the tea.
10:29Spill it.
10:29Let's get into it.
10:29Let's get into it.
10:30Information, ladies, because Beyonce and Jay-Z are going on the run too.
10:34Yes, they're going on the run again.
10:36They're performing, concert, tour, the whole shebang.
10:39Except something really sketchy happened.
10:41It went up on Ticketmaster and on Facebook and then it was mysteriously taken down.
10:45But the internet doesn't play.
10:47They're on that screenshotting real quick.
10:49On the run 2 is coming back.
10:51We don't really know when, but we think maybe it's set to be the summer.
10:54I went to on the run 1 and let me just say that was one of the best concerts of
10:57my life.
10:58Did you guys make it?
11:00See, the way my coins were set up at the time, I wasn't ready.
11:03Right, you weren't ready.
11:04But this time, as soon as I saw the announcement, it didn't matter that it was a split second.
11:07And I literally set up a separate bank account so I could get some money in it.
11:11It's not like a wedding fund.
11:12It's literally just a Beyoncé fund.
11:14You have to have a Beyoncé fund.
11:15The Beyhive, the Beyhive.
11:16And you know what I will say?
11:17Beyoncé and Jay-Z, they don't do anything.
11:20It's very calculated.
11:21So like this was supposed to offer.
11:22And let's just say that on the run, the first tour made $95.9 million, literally averaging $5 million per
11:31show.
11:31So we know that this is just going to be something we're all in for.
11:34And like imagine, a Lemonade and $4.44 collab kind of like, what?
11:38And that's what I love about on the run because they would do starts together, then Jay would leave, Beyoncé
11:42would come, then Beyoncé would leave.
11:43So it was like every song, you were like, it was like an exorcism.
11:47I already see a mashup between $4.44 and Don't Hurt Yourself.
11:52Like I see that happening.
11:53It's, oh my God.
11:54And obviously, Top Off is so lit.
11:56Maybe DJ Khaled will like come by.
11:58Top Off.
11:58I mean, he did open for her during Lemonade, so maybe.
12:01So there's some shady stuff going on there.
12:04I'm going to top off, y'all.
12:05All right, I'm excited for that.
12:06All right, guys, but now you know what I'm excited for?
12:08It's time to get lit.
12:10So if you are not watching The Arrangement on E!, you are seriously missing out.
12:15It's a dark drama that centers around young actress Megan Morrison and her relationship with high-profile celebrity Kyle West.
12:22So here with us today to spill all the drama on Season 2 is the star of the show, Christine
12:28Evangelista.
12:31Hey, guys.
12:32How are you?
12:33So glad to have you here today.
12:34Thank you for having me.
12:35I'm excited to be here.
12:36Now, before we jump into all of our questions, for your viewers at home, check out the Season 2 trailer
12:41of The Arrangement here.
12:43This year has been unbelievable.
12:45We're looking over here.
12:47When I met Kyle, I fell in love.
12:52We both did.
12:53It was perfect.
12:56It was a whirlwind romance and completely unexpected.
13:03Then when I became involved with the Institute for the Higher Mind, I knew I could leave my old life
13:10behind.
13:13I'm beginning to understand more about who I am and who I can be.
13:21I feel like a whole new Megan.
13:24I feel free.
13:28And now that I'm learning to control my own narrative, no one can stop me.
13:42Guys, it's getting spicy.
13:44That gave me chills.
13:47So, Christine, the arrangement kind of exposes this darker side of Hollywood, and it's kind of fitting what's happening in
13:53our time right now.
13:54How do you think showing these things on a show really kind of pushes this conversation forward?
13:59You know, it's interesting.
14:01As we were wrapping the second season, the Me Too movement started to gain some steam.
14:06And I don't want to say it was coincidence, you know, one show with this, but it wasn't by design
14:11at all.
14:12But what I will say is I'm very happy that we've reached a tipping point in society and within the
14:17industry, and we're giving a voice to women who have felt so voiceless for so long.
14:22And I'm very excited to play a strong character.
14:25It's great to play a strong woman on television right now.
14:28Absolutely.
14:28She's taking control and looking to take down the patriarchy, so.
14:32We are about that.
14:34And you can even see that trailer.
14:36I mean, that's just like, you're just like, yes!
14:37Megan's a boss.
14:38Megan is a boss.
14:39Lady boss, for sure.
14:41Love it.
14:41We're about that.
14:41So it's rumored that the show mirrors some real-life Hollywood couples.
14:45Is there any validity to that?
14:47There's not.
14:48And I think, like, you see season one, Megan's her own girl.
14:50She's got her own history, her own story.
14:52They're not based off anyone else, but people speculate that they're based off of certain situations, and I don't blame
14:58them.
14:58But these are totally original characters.
15:01Okay.
15:01Fair enough.
15:02I'll take it.
15:03Okay, good.
15:04Now, this is your first major, like, leading role.
15:07And in the first season, we see your character, Megan, as she's in that same situation.
15:10So what advice would you give to aspiring actors and actresses?
15:14Work hard and have a good foundation for yourself.
15:18I think that's one of the differences between Megan and myself.
15:21You know, Megan doesn't really have a strong foundation in her life.
15:24She doesn't have a really good team, a good relationship with certain family members and friends.
15:29And I think it's very important to surround yourself with people that you trust.
15:33Yes.
15:34And that's my advice.
15:36There you go.
15:37You need strong, solid people in your corner.
15:39Yes.
15:39Yeah, I feel very lucky that I'm supported by strong women.
15:42I come from a strong family.
15:45So off the bat, yeah.
15:46No matter what profession, right?
15:47Exactly.
15:48Exactly.
15:48That's totally, yeah, relatable advice.
15:51So how do you think that Megan has grown from season one to this next season that we're about to
15:56see?
15:56She's grown significantly.
15:58She's completely come into her own.
15:59I always say, you know, season one, she was leading with her heart.
16:03And season two, she's leading more with her mind.
16:08Mm-hmm.
16:09And she knows the lay of the land with Hollywood.
16:13And season two, she's really coming back strong.
16:16And she's learned from her mistakes.
16:18For those who haven't seen this show, what do you think?
16:21Why should they watch the arrangement?
16:23I think there's a lot of reasons why people should watch the arrangement.
16:26It's a story that people have speculated about, but it's never been done before.
16:31Right.
16:31This is a totally original television show, which is great.
16:34I think Megan's a great character.
16:36She's a strong female character.
16:38It's an interesting love story, which I think is all people would respond to.
16:43That's what's so catering to me, too, is just the love story element with these two high-profile celebrities.
16:47Right, and there's a lot of relatability in this.
16:50Like, season one, it's the honeymoon phase.
16:53They're getting to know each other.
16:54Now, season two, they know each other, and conflict starts to set in.
16:58And I think...
17:00...with, too.
17:01Another thing I think women can deal with, Megan, is in season two, in a new situation.
17:07You know, she has to placate the Institute a bit.
17:10You know, she has to pretend to go along with them.
17:12So she has to be the perfect girlfriend to Kyle.
17:14She has to be the perfect model for the Institute,
17:17with the perfect actress.
17:18You know, she's leading herself in all these different ways.
17:20I think that's relatable for women, too.
17:23All the time, you know, we're...
17:26...in different situations, and we have to adjust to that,
17:29and I think that's very relatable.
17:32What are some themes that we can look forward to seeing this season
17:35that our audience can say, okay, I see what's going on here.
17:38I'm excited to see what this is about.
17:40Well, the whole season is completely elevated.
17:44...to where we go.
17:45I mean, the stakes are higher in every way.
17:48But I think they're planning a wedding this season, so we'll see the wedding.
17:52We like that.
17:53How about that?
17:53We love weddings.
17:54But it's a little creepy because the Institute is influencing the wedding.
17:58It's not about Megan and Kyle necessarily, you know, so we'll see that a bit.
18:03And we learn more about the Institute and expose its corruption and why Kyle is so drawn to it
18:10and why he can't leave.
18:12Yeah.
18:12So we'll see that.
18:13And can you just give us a bit of background about the Institute for those who don't watch this
18:17so we can make sure they're hit right?
18:18All right.
18:18So the Institute is this insular self-help group that Kyle is a part of.
18:23It's kind of very cultured, very controlling in his life and sort of navigates all of his decision-making.
18:31Okay.
18:32Okay.
18:32So, Christine, last question.
18:34Yesterday we celebrated International Women's Day, which was so exciting and something that
18:37we love here at Refinery29.
18:38It's an emotional time, too.
18:40It is.
18:40It was very emotional.
18:41I felt very emotional about it.
18:42I could not have posted more about it.
18:44Right?
18:45We did, too.
18:45And that's why it's so cool hearing you say you have such a strong foundation, so many
18:48powerful women in your life.
18:50How do you think that we can keep telling stories of these powerful women in more than just March
18:55and more than, you know, because International Women's Day, everyone's focused on this one day.
18:58It seems like to just have all this information here.
19:00But how do you think we continue that beyond just this time?
19:02It's our responsibility.
19:04And I think the more that we unite and the more we talk about it, the more that these
19:08stories are going to be told.
19:10And I think it's in our hands now and it's more of a conversation.
19:12And you're right.
19:13It's not a day.
19:14But I think let's look at it that this marks the day of our future and the more that we
19:19can create those conversations with each other, I think, you know, it'll inevitably happen
19:25that way.
19:26It starts with us.
19:27Yeah.
19:28Yeah.
19:28And women also are uniting more than ever.
19:31I love it.
19:31So that in itself is going to happen.
19:34It will organically happen.
19:35Empowered women empower women.
19:37Yes.
19:37Yes.
19:38Yeah.
19:39Anyway, thank you so much for joining us.
19:41Thank you so much.
19:41Thank you so much for watching the show.
19:42Love you so much.
19:44And you guys can check out the arrangement on E! March 11th.
19:47And we will be tuning in.
19:48I'll tell you that much.
19:49Thanks, Yussi.
19:50Thank you so much.
19:51Bye.
19:51Another show that I am obsessing about too is The Bachelor finale.
19:56Oh, whoof.
19:57We need to talk about it.
19:58Woof.
19:59That was, talk about some tea spilliness.
20:01And we're going to get into this.
20:02Yeah, you're right.
20:02Yeah, you're right.
20:03I need a little sip.
20:04Here we go.
20:04Cheers, ladies.
20:06Oh, these ones are strong today.
20:07Yeah, they're good.
20:08Real good.
20:08All right.
20:09If you guys haven't seen The Bachelor finale, let me just clue you in really, really quickly.
20:14The season's Bachelor, Ari, ended the season with proposing to the contestant, Becca.
20:19A couple weeks later, we find out, and we see this on television, that Ari had broken
20:24up with Becca on TV with cameras and everything.
20:28We see her crying and everything, the whole shebang.
20:30And then a week later, he proposes to runner-up Lauren.
20:34It was the most cringe-worthy, like, they kept saying it's the most dramatic finale ever,
20:39but honestly, I thought they were exploiting Becca by putting her on camera.
20:43Yeah.
20:43Later in an interview, Ari says that the reason he was happy to put this on television,
20:46the breakup on television, was because he wanted her to have a chance of being The Bachelorette,
20:50which she now is.
20:51And, but Chris Harrison caught him out for that.
20:53He was like...
20:53Yeah.
20:53I mean, when did Becca say she wanted to be The Bachelorette?
20:57Right.
20:57She wanted to be your fiancé.
20:59Right.
20:59So what are you doing, Ari?
21:00I agree.
21:01What do you guys think?
21:02Okay, I also have to say that you, Sarah, you know me.
21:04I'm the biggest Bachelor fan.
21:05Like, I love watching Bachelor.
21:06This season, I have not watched a single episode but to watch this finale, because I...
21:11Not loyal.
21:11...had the weirdest feeling about Ari.
21:14And it proves to be true.
21:15You're not alone.
21:15I just felt like he was not good.
21:17I just feel like he didn't have...
21:18I actually saw this hilarious meme that was like, a girl, you know, they sit...
21:21Him and Becca sit in silence for a minute, and Ari goes, I love that.
21:24You know, I just...
21:25That's what he kept saying.
21:26He doesn't know anything.
21:27That's what he kept saying.
21:27Yeah.
21:28And I just feel like...
21:30I don't know.
21:30I just feel like that was so tacky, the whole thing.
21:33But it reminds me of Jason Mesnick and Molly.
21:35Do you guys remember that season?
21:37He did the same thing.
21:38Proposed to someone else.
21:39Right.
21:39He was on the After the Road.
21:41Yes, he was.
21:41The thing about it, and in Ari's defense, and I'm just putting it out there, do we think that...
21:46Listen, the Bachelor films for a month.
21:49That means in a month, he has to go through all these girls and actually propose.
21:53And part of the reason he said he made a mistake was because he just needed more time.
21:57And he went with the safer option.
21:59What do you guys think about this?
22:00You know what?
22:00If you need more time, then say, I need more time.
22:03Right.
22:03Like, you don't have to get down.
22:05I know the premise of the show is to end up proposing to the woman that you pick, but
22:09you don't have to get down on one if you're not ready.
22:11It didn't used to be like that, though.
22:12In the earlier bachelors, you didn't have to propose.
22:15Right?
22:15Some of the guys didn't.
22:16Okay, see?
22:16So if you're not sure, then just don't put people's hearts on the line like that.
22:20And here's why I don't buy that either.
22:22It's so you can go date for one month, propose, and then all of a sudden you're like, I messed
22:26up.
22:26I'm going to propose again.
22:27Like, the obvious reason, if you're not ready to propose either way, then you just
22:30take a step back.
22:31Right.
22:31You don't solve a proposal by having another proposal.
22:33Anyway, I think Becca's going to be an incredible bachelorette.
22:36She's kind of like the Kate Middleton vibe.
22:38Yes.
22:38The way she carries herself for poise and elegance.
22:41Very poise.
22:41Very sweet.
22:41We already saw some of the men in After the Final Rose because they do that now.
22:45Yeah.
22:45They were kind of cute guys.
22:47I'm excited for her.
22:48She's going to get some fine bachelors.
22:49Speaking of bachelor contestants, I got to meet Corinne Olympias, my love, my queen.
22:54And I got to hear what she had to say about Ari.
22:56Check it out here.
22:58Switching gears a little bit.
22:59Bachelor, the season.
23:01Ugh.
23:01Why do you react like that?
23:03It's just boring.
23:04It's just like, I don't buy him as a bachelor.
23:07Like, I...
23:08Like, I can't stress this enough.
23:10Like, there's no difference in any of his relationships.
23:13Like, this one has sexual chemistry.
23:15This one, they have the same humor.
23:17This one, they both want the same things for a home life.
23:19Right.
23:19Like, there's no, like, conversation about, like, anything different.
23:24Oh!
23:26You're really passionate about this!
23:30You're really passionate about this!
23:40Oh my god.
23:42Okay, I will have to say, I was actually on set for this and Serena and Corinne are truly
23:47the same person.
23:48They are literal peas in a pod.
23:49In case you guys are wondering.
23:51Soul me.
23:52It was a treat to watch this.
23:53But it was great to see Corinne because she has so much going on since The Bachelor.
23:57She is a clothing ryan with Riot Society.
23:59She has a podcast that's called So Random that is actually funny and I listen to it.
24:04And she has a lingerie line coming out.
24:05So, it's really cool that she just, like, catapulted this career after getting dumped
24:09by Nick.
24:10You know what?
24:11We're not a fan of anyway, so.
24:12We're not.
24:12No.
24:13Use that platform, bro.
24:14I'm proud of you.
24:14Right?
24:15I'm proud of you.
24:16Now, on to our star of the week, my forever and ever and ever First Lady, Mrs. Michelle Obama.
24:33Preach.
24:34She is adorable.
24:35She is completely enamored with Michelle and it's pictures like this that remind us
24:39why representation matters.
24:40Now, this photo went viral and it actually got to Michelle Obama's camp.
24:44She reached out to Parker Curry and her family and invited them to her Washington office
24:49for a cute little meetup.
24:51Okay?
24:51Meet and greet, right?
24:52Well, a meet and greet turned into a full-blown dance party.
24:56Shoes off, music on.
24:57They were bumping and grooving like it was absolutely adorable.
25:01Parker's mom said that Parker could not have enough.
25:03She and Michelle, again, two peas in a pod.
25:06The chemistry was there.
25:07It was adorable.
25:08Michelle took to her Instagram to post a photo of herself and Parker and she said,
25:12keep dreaming big for yourself and maybe one day I'll proudly look up at a beautiful portrait
25:17of you.
25:17And that is just, my heart smiled all the way through.
25:20That gives me chills.
25:21It was adorable.
25:22And now, Michelle Obama and Refining 29 actually teamed up to do an article about International
25:27Women's Day and to talk about Michelle Obama's continued efforts to empower young girls
25:32through education.
25:32So we put the link in the bio.
25:34Make sure you check it out.
25:35It's a must read.
25:36And another exciting tidbit of news is that the Obamas are apparently in talks with Netflix
25:40to do some content.
25:43I'll be binge watching that Barack in the Shell show.
25:45I'm tuning in.
25:45Let me tell you that much.
25:47I miss them so much.
25:48So if I have to get more of a glimpse of their life through watching Netflix, I'm doing
25:52it.
25:52Absolutely.
25:53I'm all about it.
25:54Wow.
25:54What a great show, guys.
25:55Fantastic.
25:57Thank you so much for joining us.
25:59Have a good weekend.
26:00We will see you next Friday at noon.
26:02Thanks, guys.
26:03Bye, guys.
26:03Bye.
26:06Bye, guys.
26:33You
