00:10My mom is full Chinese and my dad is half Chinese, half Spanish.
00:14I used to not always embrace all of my features.
00:18I didn't really like my eyes when I was growing up.
00:22If you would look at magazines or you would look at movies, you know, a lot of women have really
00:26nice, like, really big eyes.
00:29And I didn't really see myself as that.
00:32High school was definitely pretty difficult for me.
00:35These two girls approached me in, like, my science class.
00:38I was just so excited, you know, to, like, make a couple new girlfriends.
00:41And after the assignment was over, they three-way called me and they were like,
00:46I think you're taking our friendship a little bit too seriously.
00:49We can't be friends anymore.
00:50And laughed and then hung up.
00:52Still sticks with me today because it's so mean.
00:55And people shouldn't be treated that way at all.
01:01Later on in my life, I really learned to embrace my eyes because I think my eyes are beautiful.
01:06I love their shape.
01:08And that is the great thing about social media, I think, today, and YouTube and stuff,
01:13is that a young girl who doesn't really see anyone that she can relate to in traditional media
01:20can go onto YouTube and see a girl who looks like her.
01:26I think I would tell any girl out there to embrace your natural features,
01:32love yourself, be kind to others, and that's all that really matters.
01:37And that's all that really matters.
