00:00Dating as a dating coach is so awkward.
00:07I met my husband on Twitter.
00:09He was a dating expert too.
00:11His company is called The Professional Wingman and he goes out with people and helps them
00:16develop their social skills.
00:17I help people online navigate online dating sites and apps and I felt like I need to
00:24know this guy.
00:25I direct messaged him and asked him to grab a cocktail.
00:29We started by talking about our businesses, but we ended by talking about everything else
00:34in life and I started liking him a lot.
00:38Thomas proposed on Christmas Eve, which is my favorite day, and neither of us remember
00:44any of what he said, but I do remember saying yes.
00:48Thomas and I were engaged for a few months.
00:51It was really blissful, then Thomas starts to act a little funny.
00:56He started to question everything and he told me he wasn't sure he was getting ready
01:02to get married.
01:03That was so hard for me because I was like knee deep and starting to plan.
01:09I was thinking we'd get married and then we'd have one year.
01:13You know, there was like this trajectory happening.
01:16Feeling iffy and our relationship lasted for almost a year.
01:20So I decided to just stop talking about the wedding, stop talking about the future.
01:25Like we're just going to be us and live in the moment.
01:27I really think that that's what pulled us out is focusing on the present and who we are
01:33because it's something we lost touch of.
01:36Things just started getting better and better.
01:38On New Year's, we were headed out the door to go to a party and he said, I think we
01:44should
01:44set the date.
01:47Me and Thomas' relationship started on Twitter and our love story really has always been about
01:52the words even in 140 characters.
01:55So we had a whole Twitter themed wedding.
01:59We got married under all these Twitter birds.
02:02All of the table numbers were hashtags that meant something to us like hashtag Skype date
02:06or hashtag tweet hearts.
02:08Everyone's place card, we made it look like a little Twitter bio.
02:12But the most important thing was that everyone continued to help us write our love story.
02:18So we had everyone live tweet during the wedding and iPads when everyone sat down to dinner
02:25turned into a live feed of the tweets and our hashtag was happily ever Edwards.
02:30So it still lives on.
